will not install kb954430 security update.

I tried a lot of things, like downloading it manually. I have read other forums, who say to uninstall the update 954430 existing (in Add / Remove Programs) and reinstall. There is not an existing one.

When I manually install, it comes back with an error message: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\MSXML2. DOMDocument.4.0\CLSID verify that you have sufficient access to that key.

Help! I am trying to install SP3, and he refused that, too, because an update is not installed.

I'm just below a simplified version of Windows XP Edition family.

The computer has XP Home. It is an older machine, 266 Celeron, 2 GB of Ram that I built a few years ago. It is part of a home network. It has not been updated for a while so I decided to install SP3, updates, IE 8, BackupNT off CD, FixIT and Partition & Format 2 more large players. Hello

What is your level of service current pack? Click right my computer, click Properties, on the general tab, he says.

If this isn't SP1A or SP2 you will not be able to install SP3. You will first need to install SP2.

How you try to install the SP3? Stand-alone package or Windows Update?

I must say that I'm not sure why you are unable to install, for example, NTBackup. As said by Harish B N, we need more information about the error you get.

You can view the history of update to find errors.
Let us make the below listed methods one by one and check if you are able to install these updates successfully.

    Method 1.
If your computer is experiencing problems find and install updates of the operating system, try using the troubleshooting Windows Update tool to solve the problem. Hello

    ·        What happens when you try to install updates (do you get the error messages)?

    ·        What version of Windows is installed on your computer?

If you are using Windows 7, you can run the troubleshooter window update and check if that helps you. To run the troubleshooter, follow the link below.

  • KB2686509 security update will not install 0xf0f4 error code

After downloading Microsoft security update for Windows XP (KB2686509) update will not install - what should I do?

I struggled with this for days. Here's what was going on and what I did that worked.

faultykeyboard.log listed 24 entries of the form kb*.kbd

I searched and no such files exist on my computer.

By running regedit and looking, I found 24 subkeys appearance abnormal corresponding to the list in:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Keyboard Layouts

After carefully reviewing the risk of damage, I discovered that the operating system automatically restore this section of the registry in the event of a boot failure.

I deleted then boldly all subkeys of the *.kbd type in the registry. I deleted faultykeyboard.log. I rebooted then ran the KB2686509 update and installed and restarted the computer.

    The problem disappeared.  Everything works.
