  • updating Win 7 32 bit to Win 7 64 bit with output formatting of HARD drive?

For some reason any my Panasonic Toughbook came with Win 7 Pro 32-bit. The material is prepared according to manufacturer 64-bit. Who could ever think about buying the PC like this (quad CPU, 8 GB of RAM etc) is preloaded with 32-bit? In any case, I talked to people from panasonic, they say, it is not necessary to wipe the HARD drive to upgrade to 64 - bit. and sent the links to the drivers to install and procedures how to. The qUESTIONs ARE! Is it still possible? All programs and apps will work after installation? I'll be able to access the windows after upgrade. If I do a backup of files and settings in 32 bits can restore 64-bit so only the lost data? If not successful can I use same license key 32-bit here to install Win 7 Pro 64 bit. Has it been done before?

Thank you for all the input

As the computer was supposed to be provided with 32-bit Windows and 8 GB of RAM their technical knowledge should be considered as somewhat suspect. 32-bit Windows can access up to 3.2 GB (approx.) of RAM, it should be 4 GB, but for technical reasons, it can not, 8 GB would be useless.

According to the original age of the computer, it only used to be quite true 64 bit software so if a computer has 4 GB of RAM or less, there was little interest in installing Windows x 64. Windows 7 x 64 increases the required minimum memory of 1 GB 2 GB same 4 GB of RAM is questionable, to get an advantage, that it should be more.

I suspect the specifications of basic material for the system was such that the image of the master has x 32 and nobody at Panasonic said that if they offered an option for 8 GB they needed to provide a revised image.

Normally OEM software provided as 32-bit or 64-bit, you don't get together in the peloton to the difference in detail so there may be a limitation as to what technique you can install. Then of course there is the problem of knowing where you are going to get the operating system. If the recovery of Panasonic's 32-bit all you have. Unless Panasonic brings that put you with a recovery disc 64-bit, you will need to provide your own license. You obviously have a case if they provided the spec of 8 GB to request a package of them FOC, but I doubt if they will respect.

  • RALink wireless LAN 802.11n card and my WIN 8 64 bit PC error Code 31: no driver updates available

22/12/2012 bought ASUS CM6780 PC running 64-bit. RALink Wireless LAN crashed my system twice in 10 months. ASUS support allows only a "System Restore" which means you start from scratch with ALL your programs, updates etc etc.
I get the error code indicating 'Bad Image' with several pop-up window for what I am running, and the Ralink Lan has an error code 31 showing Windows cannot update.
I have my 1 year warranty AND a 3 year warranty, I purchased in addition to this, but the ASUS support is lame. Only help to restore the system not to find a real solution, and when I ask a new LAN card, they do not respond.
Is this a problem with updates of Windows or Ralink?
Please advise, downtime for each episode runs more than 24 hours, restore my programs and update everything. I'm ready to trash or sell it!

  • NB550D - best way to install Win 7 64-bit and 64-bit drivers

    Hello

I improved my NB550D to Windows7 Home Premium and installed 4 GB of RAM.
This works much better, but want to go further and make a Windows7 Ultimate _64bit_ _clean install_ in order to take full advantage of theupgrade in RAM.

My question is: what should I do about the Toshiba drivers for 64-bit? I guess I'm going to need some?

What is the best way to go about the upgrade - any help will be appreciated! : D

If you need to switch to Win 7 64 bit, then you need some Win 7 64 bit drivers.
On the European driver Toshiba page, I could find some 64-bit drivers, but it seems that not all Toshiba for Win 7 64-bit tools are released.

Drivers for WLan or BT stack can be found here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/

Other drivers or Toshiba tools such as value added package or Face Recognition, Eco utility and others could be used with other series of portable for example by Satellite C660D or others such as L750D, L755D or C670D
Surely you must pay attention to the integrated graphics chip, the LAN or the chipset
Use the drivers that are released for fleas in NB550D

  • Creation of recovery Win 7 64 bit for Satellite L500-19 x disc?

    My new Satellite L500 - 19 X came pre-installed with Win 7-64 bit version.
Also includes a "product recovery Win 7 32 bit" disc

Inside of the package a brochure said:

"If you plan to use 64-bit at a later stage, please create a _recovery medium_ before installing Windows 7 32 bit"

He then warns me to create a "medium recovery 64-bit... you are ordering that 64-bit recovery media is not free."

The manual goes long on "_System Recovery Options" as stated in the manual I did a "Windows 7 64 bit repair disc" can I say that I don't have or can't have a real Win 7 64 bit disc?

The brochure says "a backup copy (file Win 7 64-bit) is stored on the hard drive as a _recovery image_" so is this the real Win 7 64 bit full disk that I'm after, and if so how do I get it?

Toshiba documentation is not clear, and I think rather contradicts itself?

I'm confused! Someone at - he understands what's going on?

    JohnF.

    Hello

If I understand correctly, you have received the laptop pre-installed with Win 7 64 bit OS.
But you didn t get the drive recovery Win 7 64 bit, but you have a Win 7 32 bit recovery disc. Is this good?

Matt good the case is that the use of the recovery disk will format the entire HARD drive and will erase everything from the HARD drive. This means that you will lose the Win 7 64 bit OS preinstalled.
So if you would not create the recovery disk Win 7 64 bit before using the Win 7 32 bit recovery disc, then you will not be able to go back to the 64-bit version.

Therefore, create the Win 7 64 bit recovery disc at the beginning. So you are safe and can install Win 32-bit and 64-bit when you want.

  • Win Vista 64 bit hangs on the 9800GT Nvidia video driver

    Hello

I recently installed Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit and it works very well using GPU on board. Problems started when I installed the 9800GT. It works when I use the standard VGA driver windows installed, but after that I updated to the latest version of the driver the screen would be black after the initial screen that displays the progress bar just before the vista logo and nickname. I went to the VGA driver, so I can type this upward.

The machine is still trying to get all the service packs and updates, and I was wondering if the problem will be solved by getting all the updates.

The problem seems so much as questions of other people were able to see with the video card since ' 09. I hope he has improved since then.

    Thanks in advance.

  • drivers for epson epl 5700L printer

Had to change to Windows 7 PC after years with XP, where default printer has been laserjet Epson EPL 5700 L.
Epson advises that Microsoft provide drivers for this, otherwise the printer is "incompatible" with Windows 7, I find unacceptable, given that the printer is in excellent working condition.  I can find drivers Windows for EPL 5700, but not for EPL5700L.   The system recognizes the printer with 5700 drivers, but do not print. Any suggestions will be welcomed

The drivers for printers 'old' company sometimes gets very confusing. There is little doubt that the drivers arenot available for Windows 7 on the site Epson, either 64 or 32-bit. However, the pilots are listed through the wizard for the installation of devices and printers. Do not connect the printer so much than directed. Remove all drivers installed for the printer.

    1. Restart the computer to power off the power.
    2. Start the wizard;
    3. Select Add local printer;
    4. Select Windows Update
      as the source;
    5. Follow the on-screen prompts.

I guarantee you that the result will be usable, but this is for everything it's worth.
