Portege R500 upgrade to Win 7 64 bit: lost and no scrolling touchpad driver

Dear all,

I have updated my portege R500 WIndows 7 64-bit OS and had the following problems:

1. as a first step the touchpad scrolling has worked well (with no driver installed) but then it works more... so I tried a driver but
2. There is no driver for the touchpad (Alps) which is recognized as a compatible mouse PS
BTW, uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work and I searched a lot on the web but found no solution.

I downloaded the drivers for VISTA 64 bit, is it safe to use?

Appreciated advice, thank you.

Simone

Hello

> I downloaded the drivers for VISTA 64 bit, is it safe to use?
Yes, it s safe you can try to install the drivers for the touchpad for Vista in the worst case, you will get an error message that this driver is not compatible or will not work.

But look man there is Win 7 Alps and Synaptics touchpad drivers for Win 7.
The drivers were released for other series of laptop.
Check the Satellite L500 area for example

I have Win 7 64 bit drivers.
Synaptics v14.0.11.0
Alps Electric v7.x5.303.117

Welcome them

    Hello

You can not move from Win 7 32 bit to 64 bit.
To use the Win 7 64-bit system, you must make a full, clean install of Win 7 64 bit.

This would require the installation of all your software, tool, utility as pilots.

  • How to upgrade to win 7 64 bit

I just installed win 7 32 bit, but now I found that I have to install win 7 64 bit. How can I upgrade?

In addition, my laptop's Mac Pro 13 inch Mid 2012.

I suggest to remove the 32-bit and 64-bit. There is no upgrade path supported on a Mac.

To use 10 Windows on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support (and this is true for all versions of Windows on Mac),

Update for 32-bit versions of Windows

If you have an existing installation of 32-bit Windows on your Mac, you will need to backup your important files so that you can remove the existing Windows partition and install a 64-bit version of Windows.

    1. Back up all the important files on your Windows partition.
    2. Use the Boot Camp Assistant to remove the existing Windows partition.
    3. Then, use the Boot Camp Assistant to install a 64 bit version of Windows on your Mac 10.
    4. Once you have completed the installation of Windows, copy your important files on your Windows drive.
  • Upgrade to Win 7 32 bit to Win 7 64 bit

A few years back, I bought a Win 7 upgrade pack who had licenses for three computers.  The upgrades were available as 32-bit or 64-bit.  I have now updated three of my XP computers and make them all running and enabled.  Unfortunately, by mistake I made one a 32-bit improvements.  I would like to correct this and reinstall as a 64-bit (as I contemplate the possibility of a Win 10 update).

My concern is try a new installation of 64-bit on 32-bit installation will result in denial of activation as this can be considered a fourth facility of a three license upgrade pack.  Can someone clarify this before I attempt an upgrade?

    Thank you

You're still allowed to clean reinstall Windows 7 as often as you want and always re-enable generally without special measures because the material is already associated with this product key, but even if not you can migrate to Windows 7 at retail to any other PC whenever you want as long as it's only on (in the case of Family Pack) 3 PCs at a time.

If you have problems with Activation, open a command prompt, type slui 4, then press ENTER, follow the prompts to re-activate that refreshes the the hardware ID in the Activation of MS. servers  If it detects possible installation of additional hardware device it will ask the key question "PC how much this copy is installed on?" to which in your case, you can answer only up to 3.  This gives permission to MS to disable it on any PC excesses that do not already have their signature of material recorded for this product key in their servers.

If for some reason, this fails, stay on the line for the activating agent and explain your situation.  Normally this solve the problems, but if not Service the customer is responsible to ensure that a valid key gets all its due installs and will open a case of support to ensure that this happens.  If this is not the case, let us know here.

  • T61 upgraded to win 7 32 bit Readydrive can not be activated

I have a T61 8889 AD3, updated operating system at level 32-bit form to Win 7 32 bit vista. The foucation readydrive of Intel turbo Memory can not be enabled after the upgrade. Turbo Memory report below:

It seems that the readydrive highlights disk, cache because a disc hidden (in anonymous form, GB 6,17) ahead of C: drive.

I try to use the drivers for Vista, but the installation process is always altered; When I put my T61 hibernation, there is no file option of hibernation in cleaning disc as it used to be.

Does anyone have ideas for this?

Good news, my turbo memory works fine now. I reinstalled the system, but the same symptom persists, but I have to solve

    You need to know:

First of all, some people say that allowing to Hibernate will be active readydrive feature, but it doesn't seem to work on my T61 with win7. Several times in retirement, it did not help. Despite readydrive works great now, I do not see files of Hibernation in 'Disk cleanup', unlike the situation in the Vista system.

Second, please check:-> disk drivers Device Manager click on the properties of the drive, and then click strategies, you should see the two options in writing-coching lives checked; You can also see NV Cache option on the right of the policies.

Finally, once readydrive works well, you should see ' Windows ReadyDrive disk Power Savings Mode activated' under the option of hard drive of the advanced settings in Power Options.

    Following steps may help:

    Option 1:

    Download 1.10.0.1012 - 8.9.2.1002 of

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67820

at your desk, then unzip it (do not install). Then find the setup.exe of: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\Turbomem

Click on-> run as administrator. Once the driver is installed, do not restart, and then click Intel Turbo Memory Console, then check both options. Restart

If option 1 does not help, try it please:

    Option 2:

Download the IBM link above 1.5.0.1013 - 7.8.0.1012 on you desktop.

then unzip it (do not install), then find the setup.exe of: C:\DRIVERS\VISTA\Turbomem

Make a right click-> compatibility-> check run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows Vista

Once the driver is installed, do not restart, and then click Intel Turbo Memory Console, then check both options. Restart

This driver does not work with win7 system, then you can follow option 1.

I'm not a technician and instructions above appear simple and reckless, but at least my T61 readydrive feature works correctly now.

    Good luck to you ~!

When connect us the microphone to the Jack MIC the Portege, built-in speakers cut out!

How to use an external mic and still hear the internal speakers?

    Hello

    > When connect us the microphone on the Portege, built-in speaker MIC Jack cut!
Are you sure you used the microphone port and no headphone port?

Have you checked your settings Audio from Skype?
There is an option called ring through the speaker too or something like that.

Please also check the Realtek HD audio Manager in Control Panel.
There is a tab called Audio i/o.

Usually, you can change the connector settings, by clicking on the small key-tool icon.
Disable the option called Mute rear output when plugged headphones before

As you can see is called headset and not so I m confused a little bit why the speakers are turned off when you connect an external microphone.

By the way; There is also a tab called micro.

  • updating Win 7 32 bit to Win 7 64 bit with output formatting of HARD drive?

For some reason any my Panasonic Toughbook came with Win 7 Pro 32-bit. The material is prepared according to manufacturer 64-bit. Who could ever think about buying the PC like this (quad CPU, 8 GB of RAM etc) is preloaded with 32-bit? In any case, I talked to people from panasonic, they say, it is not necessary to wipe the HARD drive to upgrade to 64 - bit. and sent the links to the drivers to install and procedures how to. The qUESTIONs ARE! Is it still possible? All programs and apps will work after installation? I'll be able to access the windows after upgrade. If I do a backup of files and settings in 32 bits can restore 64-bit so only the lost data? If not successful can I use same license key 32-bit here to install Win 7 Pro 64 bit. Has it been done before?

Thank you for all the input

As the computer was supposed to be provided with 32-bit Windows and 8 GB of RAM their technical knowledge should be considered as somewhat suspect. 32-bit Windows can access up to 3.2 GB (approx.) of RAM, it should be 4 GB, but for technical reasons, it can not, 8 GB would be useless.

According to the original age of the computer, it only used to be quite true 64 bit software so if a computer has 4 GB of RAM or less, there was little interest in installing Windows x 64. Windows 7 x 64 increases the required minimum memory of 1 GB 2 GB same 4 GB of RAM is questionable, to get an advantage, that it should be more.

I suspect the specifications of basic material for the system was such that the image of the master has x 32 and nobody at Panasonic said that if they offered an option for 8 GB they needed to provide a revised image.

Normally OEM software provided as 32-bit or 64-bit, you don't get together in the peloton to the difference in detail so there may be a limitation as to what technique you can install. Then of course there is the problem of knowing where you are going to get the operating system. If the recovery of Panasonic's 32-bit all you have. Unless Panasonic brings that put you with a recovery disc 64-bit, you will need to provide your own license. You obviously have a case if they provided the spec of 8 GB to request a package of them FOC, but I doubt if they will respect.

    You can upgrade the RAM.
You can use the DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) or 533 MHz 200 - PIN SODIMM modules.
You can use a 1 GB RAM module this is the max!

  • Computer HP laptop slim 500 GB HARD drive: used for HP laptop HARD drive upgraded to Win 10 Pro with key now stuck after HP Drive Encryption Login

I bought a portable hard drive used HP for the upgrade of my Lenovo G550 with ugraded CPU with Intel's CORE DUO T9300 2.50 ghz

(HP hard drive: computer laptop slim drive HARD 500 GB SERIAL ATA DISK DRIVE S/N W627S9NL P/N 756731-001 MFG Seagate Technologies DOM 8 / 2015)

I was happy to see that the hatd drive had already installed because Windows 7 I had bought already separate legitimate Windows 10 Pro license key for the upgrade. I was able to go online and download the upgrade of Windows 10 and used my purchased license key to activate my updated.

While doing the installation, there are some HP software that was still on the hard drive. I thought it would be good to have some additional security protocols, so I also installed the WinMagic Securedoc Bootloader v1.2.12 and saved the drive encryption HP with the security issues and password for secondary access.

10 Windows has been activated and everything was beautiful. But when I restarted the laptop, I put my password for windows and then it goes to this screen of disc HP encryption rises. I put the password and it is accepted - and then the screen turns white... not offshore... jblank TEU with a cursor flashing that doesbn can't react to inputs.

I tried leaving it for a day or so and still nothing.  There is nothing I can change in the configuration of the BIOS that works so far.

I also tried Reimage download on USB and re-creation of the sequence of boot, but not good. Even tried a boot drive, but nothing there either. I'll try again.

I don't know where to go or how to get beyond the screen of HP encryption.  I am pretty good at following directions, I don't know coding, but may do what you suggest to help me fix this problem.

    Can you help me?

Sorry... I missed the part that you have a license Win10.  I thought you were trying to activate 10 using the OEM HP license and causing problems.

I do not use HP encryption applications - as having recently completed a career in the InfoSec, I personally focus together on the encryption of the PC to be laughable-, but my guess is that you are basically out of luck.

If it was my drive, I WIPE the drive of all its content and then again install Win10.  A good product to do i.e. DBan: http://tiptopsecurity.com/how-to-securely-wipe-your-hard-drive-with-dban-erase-your-data-for-good/

Once your disc is clean, then simply install Win10 on it.

That said, with a bit of luck, one of the HP EXPERTS will probably come along and tell you how to get around their encryption.

    Good luck

    Hello

as I can't find anything on my model - Satellite-L50-B-1XF (PSKTUE-04C00WGR), I'll try it here...

I bought two of these (one for me, one for my wife) with installed Win8.1.

Well well... no need to say that it is one of the worst OS I have ever seen and since Tru64 Unix and VMS, I've seen a lot.

Anyway. I went down to Win7 Professional SP1 64-bit - full re-installed all updates installed, etc.

Now, I have the problem that I can't find anything on the camera.
Is there any support here page where I can download the appropriate drivers for Win764Bit specially for this model?

    Help here is appreciated!

    Hi Stuart

The situation is quite simple and clear, then I really wonder that you were not able to find drivers, tools and utilities for your laptop model.

For European laptops, you can download all the stuff on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
It is European support page to download the drivers. I found your model and your laptop model is fully supported for Win7 64 bit so you can find all the drivers, tools and utilities there.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
