Win7 64 bit Install.

Hello

(1) I have already installed 32-bit WinVista. I have the choice to install Win7 32-bit version or upgrade version of Win7 64 bit.  I know that I can install the upgrade from ver. Win7 32-bit and after the installation I can use the recovery process (if I need) to go back to worm WinVista 32-bit. Can I install the Win7 32-bit version upgd as a multiboot (on a different hard drive to the WinVista partition) and choose WinVista 32 bit or Win7 32 bit at the start?

(2) if I run Win7 64-bit version and then install a cleanup is necessary. Can I use upgrade version of Win7 64 bit as a mulitboot (installed on a different drive to the WinVista partition) and choose WinVista 32 bit and Win7 64 bit at the start?

(3) if I upgrade to Win7 64 bit (clean install) version and can I downgrade to Win7 32 bit ver?

Thanks a lot for your responses and suggestions.

You cannot install Windows 7 upgrade on a blank partition.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

A clean install is required, as the upgrading or downgrading to Windows 7 64 bit.

  • Simple question - I have the hp pavilion dv5 - 1060 ew, this time with Win7 64 bit running on it.

As in the topic - hp dv5-1060ew, Win7 64 bit installed, I already own SODIMM 4 GB memory kit KHX6400S2ULK2 / 4G, I hoped to install. There are chances that it will work? As for now, when I use it - the computer is not running the system. If I would like to extend my memory, what would be the best option for me, since I could understand - something to do.

Thank in advance for any help.

    Hello:

I think that memory is too fancy for your PC. Have you checked each module one at a time?  Perhaps one is bad.

If you did, and the PC does not work, then it is not compatible with your laptop.

I'd go with standard portable memory like this.

  • HP ProBook 4520 s - dual boot between Win7 64 bit and Ubuntu 10

    Hello

I just got my new HP ProBook 4520 s a few days ago and:

    (1) there were 32 bit Windows7 professional pre-installed / pre-loaded

    (2) it comes with the TWO 32-bit and 64-bit Windows7 professional DVD HP (I guess versions OEM HP)

    (3) the HD have 4 partitions in the following order

    score A 3 a) named SYSTEM

3 (b) the parition where Win7 is installed

    (3 c) HP_RECOVERY partition

    partition HP_TOOLS 3D)

I did a lot of dual-boot in the past years, but my question is really related to maintain the HP diagnostic tools that arise before even that any operating system is loaded... and diagnostic tools are those of the HP_TOOLS partition. For example, when I ran some diagnostic tests, after completing the tests and the boot of Win7, I see in the HP_TOOLS partition, in one of its directories, a .log file recently updated with the results of diagnostic tests. I want to assure you that I can still run powered on the laptop even after dual-boot diagnostic tools.

Now, since I have the DVD 32 - bit and 64 - bit, I decided I want to dual-boot between Linux and 64 bit Windows7 professional. So here's what I've done so far:

    (A) has reduced the volume of Win7 Windows computer management disk management

    (B) install Win7 64 bit on top of the existing 32-bit Win7 partition, format this partition during the installation. So no more HP utility and on the installation of 64-bit programs.

So now I have Win7 64 bit installed and professional pre-activated since it's the same notebook. Then, I realized that I really need to delete the HP_RECOVERY partition since you can have up to 4 primary partitions. So by deleting the HP_RECOVERY partition, I will be left with 3 primary partition, then I can create an extended partition to contain other partitions for Ubuntu, etc...

But before I delete the HP_RECOVERY partition, I want to know:

*) When starting, before even that any operating system is loaded, HP you shows options like "Diagnostics" and "recovery". How is the computer HP laptop knows that diagnoses are in the HP_TOOLS partition? How the laptop HP ProBook 4520 s knows that recovery is in the HP_RECOVERY partition?

*) Since I have the DVD of Win7 HP (32-bit and 64-bit), I don't really have the HP_RECOVERY partition. If I delete the partition, what will happen to this start screen which gives you the possibility of "recovery"? Of course the recovery option won "t work and I don't like, but will remove the partition HP_RECOVERY won't let me boot into Win7, or any OS besides? for example it does not validate there HP_RECOVERY partition to a place before loading Win7?

*) Then, I want to install Ubuntu, and preferably Ubuntu (or Grub also) overwrites the MBR. I prefer Grub on EasyBCD. I can easily change the configuration of grub so I can dual-boot with Windows7... But again, my question is, where does HP maintains information about diagnostic tools that they are in the HP_TOOLS partition, like the option of the diagnostic tool loading via BIOS before even any OS is loaded. Is that information in the MBR, or is it in the partition named SYSTEM?

Summary of the questions are therefore:

    (1) where HP keeps its information that diagnostic tools are in the HP_TOOLS partition? It is in the MBR, or the SYSTEM partition, or is it stored in the BIOS hard coded to load more precisely from the location of the partition? I want to keep the ability to run Diagnostics even after you have a dual-boot installation with grub in the MBR.

    (2) deleting the HP_RECOVERY partition will prevent the workbook from loading correctly before moving to Win7, Ubuntu or any other OS?

Just find the answer to my original question:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c01564727/c01564727.PDF?JumpID=reg_R1002_USEN

He uses the EFI interface and seeks a partition named HP_TOOLS, which means overwrite the MBR will not affect the operation of the HP diagnostic tools.

I just bought new laptop toshiba L500-208 recently. And I have absolutely no idea how to deal with this new kind of things! Please help me!
I had a number of compaq for 5 years, when I have the format window just use 1 cd and this finished!

But now that I do not understand I have win7 64 bit (when I bought it), but I have the 32-bit recovery disc.
I want to know that if I portable format and use this recovery disk, I won't lose 64 bit, right?
What happens if I have 64 bit for installation next, what I have to do? Please help me too...
    Thank you very much!

    Hello

The situation is simply. If you check the market of PC and laptop, you will see that new products will be offered with operating systems 64-bit.
So, the production of software goes slowly in that direction.

Toshiba offers all new notebook with 64-bit operating system, but also provide you with the 32-bit version if you feel comfortable with it and if you want to use some software not designed for 64-bit operating systems.

Your laptop comes with the HARD drive recovery image and if you read s manuals you can find info you need to create own recovery DVDs.
This can be done with the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. The shortcut for this tool, you can find on the desktop.

So, before you anything please create this installation disc. After doing this, you can install the 32-bit version and use so long desired.
When you want to have the 64-bit version to use the new created the recovery for the installation disk.

I hope you now understand how it works.
If you have any other questions please let me know.

  • I need drivers to install Win7 64 bit on mSATA SSD

    Hello!

    I need drivers to install WIN7 x 64 on THNSNH256GMCT mSATA SSD

Serial number on my product is 23NS10BFTABY

    Thank you!

This serial number does not help much. It will be better if you can display the name of the exact model laptop and the model number.

Anyway, visit Toshiba support and download page for your country and if your laptop model is supported for Win7 64 bit, you should be able to find all of the necessary drivers, tools and utilities.

I have to update the Bios before a clean install of Win7 64 bit on my Tecra M10 - 11V?

Should I regularly check and update the Bios?

After installation the program "Toshiba Software Installer for Windows 7" find and update all the drivers and the necessary utilities?

    Thank you

In my opinion you should not update BIOS. You have the latest version of BIOS 3.0 installed on your Tecra?

Can you please tell us what you want to do exactly? You want to upgrade Vista preinstalled or you want to do the new install of Win7? If yes how do you do this? With the help of the Microsoft installation disc?

  • HP722c install on win7 64 bit

Cannot get HP722C to install the new Win7 Pro 64 bit OS. I saw a long post on HP, on a 'bridge', but it assumes that the driver has been installed and that it simply does not work. I can't even a driver to install. The CD will not work, pilot is not on Win7 and HP will not download it from their site. They tell me it's on Win7, but I did twice as dance and he isn't here! Smarter than me knows how to do this 722C works on Win7 64 bit? Now tell me simply and slowly, that I have over 65!

[Please DO NOT post multiple messages on the same topic.]  [As I composed this message, I see that you posted more than three requests for the same information...]

There are in fact three separate issues to be addressed:

    1. Most of the Windows 7 computers have no parallel ports and the 722 Deskjet only supports a parallel port.  There are USB-parallel converters that can be used, but many of them do not support Windows 7.  Make sure that the converter (if you need it) supports Windows 7.  The Articles with the tag here have templates that users have reported success with Windows 7.  The port that you select will depend on the model you own, the port will usually USB001: or USB002:.
    2. The pilot is delivered via Windows Update.  Lately he has had a problem with the update to fail.  To check this follow these steps: click Start, devices and printers, add a printer to the local port, LPt1: (for now), then click on Windows Update and wait for the list to repopulate.  If you get an error "Windows could not get a list...". "then see the post here for a workaround.    Once Windows Update has completed and the list is filled again, select HP Deskjet 720, Next, Next, Finish.  (Do not print a test page to this point.)  You can now connect the cable from the printer, then right-click on the Deskjet 720 printer properties Ports and select the appropriate port.  [I have no way of knowing what will be the port for your system.  [Search for a USBnnn: port or see the documentation for your cable converter.] Once this complete and the printer appears in the devices file and printers, you can continue to the next step.
    3. Then, apply the patch available here that solves this problem of the spooler crash.

I have a laptop HP550 with a duo Core 1.8, I tried to install win7 64 bit. My question is this...

"My laptop HP550 with a 1.8 bicoeur processor will accept A Windows 7 64 bit operating system or should I stay with a 32-bit operating system." Any help will be greatly appreciated

Yes, you will be able to run Windows 7 64 bit on this system, but it may not be quick.

    -Your processor supports 64-bit.

-2 GB or more of RAM is recommended for the 64-bit version of Windows.Check your.

You need to install Windows 7 64 bit only if you have a reason behind choosing him over 32 bits. Personally, I would recommend that you use the 32-bit Windows.

  • LaserJet 2055dn guard re - install (and fault) on Win7 32 bit

Hi there, we have a certain Laserjet 2055dn office configured to print via a USB connection to a docking of the user (and thus their laptops). They also 2055dn at home too, which they plug it into their laptop again via the USB port.

We recently migrated 3 users of XP to Win7 32-bit as a pilot and as such, we need get their impression also works.

On the first machine, I used the HP Universal Print Driver PCL6 (5.4.0) version on the HP site - everything went well until when we went from the printer and turn it back on again - he then tried to install the printer all over again and then failed. We then tried the P2050 (61.093.02.77) Series PCL6 driver from the main site and yet once again, everything looked ok until the user called to say when she went home and plugged his 2055 in, he again tried to re - install the printer and a not rather than using the print object existing only.

I checked and when the printed object is created, it's going to USB001, and as I said, it's all ok until you plug the printer back in?

If anyone has noticed this problem, or similar? I wonder if force us users to always use the same USB port on the laptop if it would help? I note that when the printer is found, it also seems to show an integrated HP Web server (or along those lines) print USB driver and try to find the drivers for it too much.

Any advice or suggestions is very welcomed,

    Thanks for looking, Steve S.

  • Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b000: try to install win7 64 bit

Hey all, uh I got a "hp Pavilion sleekbook 14-b013au" to fix/installation of the new operating system, on, with a formatted hard drive, none of the scores of original disc hp exist.

They had the hard drive out, he reformatted into partitions of 2 x 250 GB and tried to install win7 64 bit on it, without success.

They tried to hook up the hard drive on a pc, installed the operating system that way, then tried plugging it back into the Sleekbook and should work.

They won't win 8.1 back on it.

I have a copy of work of this OS to a flash drive (used the "Windows USB/DVD Download Tool" to create a bootable flash drive).

I am unable to install this, as the laptop will not recognize the flash drive, after that Windows Setup starts. Help, please

    Hello:

    I have a few suggestions...

    1. you must ensure that the secure boot is disabled and legacy mode is enabled in the BIOS to be able to install and run windows 7.

2 make sure the flash drive is plugged into a USB2 port.  It will not work on all USB3 ports.

I found no error in the event viewer, at least not a red icon.

But I find the solution - in another forum thread. Here.

    1. I have connected the printer to get the error message,

    2. then downloaded and UNPACKED (no) LJM1120-COMPLETE-Solution driver installed (32-bit) here.

3 went to Device Manager, find the printer,

    4. right click to get the link submenu "Update driver."

5 choose the unzipped directory driver and let it update driver from there.

    Printer solved.

Then did the same thing to scan, points 3 to 5.
