Win7 appcrash App: explorer.exe fault: ntdll.dll

Hi, thanks for my question!

After leaving my computer in hibernation during the night a few days before, I found a few updates had been installed and the system tried to reboot. Permit this and after restarting, I tried to resume editing of audio files and browsing the forums. I started seeing pop-ups telling me that Windows Explorer has stopped working. Choose "Search the Web for a solution and restart" failed to retrieve the results. The problem ~ every 2.2 minutes after that the Explorer was launched, and close the Explorer does not stop the cycle.

I did the steps proposed in other cases of appcrash quite similar, including the clean boot: no joy. I'm at the end of my competence, but also my patience. While it is a computer pretty new (for me) and pretty cool update to Win 7Pro, I'd rather not wipe it and start over. I prefer a lot to know what went wrong and take corrective action.

Here is the text of the error message:

The error points to the duser.dll which is a component of Windows:

Probably caused by: duser.dll (duser! CoreSC::xwSendNL + 1bc)

There is also the participation of the dui70.dll that may indicate a problem with the graphic driver such as the hccutils.dll components.

Can update you the graphics driver to the latest version.

Post back if the error persists, or if it is impossible to update the graphics driver with in addition to the files of dump to see if the error is consistent.

According to the dump file seems to be the cause of the accident:

    Cannot load C:\Program Files\Shark007\filters\DivXThumbnailProvider.dll, 0n2 error Win32 image

The DivXThumbnailProvider.dll seems to be a component of DivX Plus Media Foundation and, in your case, seems to be a part of the Win7codecs software.

Then you can try what is suggested in the following link:

    http://Shark007.NET/forum/thread-crashed-Windows-Explorer-in-some-folder-s?highlight=Explorer

    Or uninstall the Win7codecs program.

  • Explorer.exe error, Normaliz.dll is missing

When I try to start my computer, I get the above error. I get the same when starting in safe mode. The only thing that works is the Task Manager. No desktop icon just a white screen. Where should I start

In Task Manager, you can click file, hold down the CTRL key, and click New task and that opens a command prompt (or the boot safe mode with command prompt).

If you have your copy of normaliz.dll on a USB key which is the D drive (for example), and XP is installed on your C drive, you can then type in something like this:

    Copy d:\normaliz.dll c:\windows\system32

When the copying is completed successfully, you will see a message like:

    1 file (s) copied

You can always do since if Task Manager:

If you see a message like this:

Explorer.EXE - unable to locate component: this application has failed to start because Normaliz.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

It is in the case Log:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Application Popup
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 26
    Description:

Application popup: Explorer.EXE - unable to locate component: this application has failed to start because Normaliz.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Start explorer.exe, but the normaliz.dll file.  If explorer.exe is not able to run, you will not be able to do much with your system until the replacement of normaliz.dll.

You can click OK for errors and finished up in the Task Manager where you can try to fix it.  The message can keep popping up from time to time, while you're fixing it, so just click OK to close the message.

If normaliz.dll is missing, you can copy it from a working system to the system afflicted with the same version of XP and Internet Explorer.

You will get a good copy and put it on a floppy disk, thumb drive etc and copy it to your system plagued by using Manager tasks.

The normaliz.dll file must be located in the c:\windows\system32 folder and therefore is not a Windows file protected, making the Microsoft Support Engineer 'experts' suggest running sfc/scannow, which is just another one of their prosecution of wild goose that will not work, he'll never work and it will only waste your time (and they don't tell you how to run either - if explorer.exe does not start).

Then engaged Microsoft Support Engineer 'experts' will offer to you develop a copy of the file from the XP installation CD you probably haven't, but it is also not on your XP installation CD, and you will have the same problem try their suggestions to 'try' to start in any any Mode without failure, so this will not help you.  These "experts" seem to think that the Safe Mode boot or boot will replace magically missing files, but it doesn't.

You also will be able to properly run a browser on the system afflicted to go on Internet download one.

There is a large computer security risk in the normaliz.dll from some website download.  The best idea is to get a copy of normaliz.dll from another computer that has the same version of XP and IE and replace it from a USB device (which you can access from the Manager tasks), or using a system that works, you can download one of my SkyDrive.

You can still use the Task Manager to run the system restore and bring it back, but I've never tried and never use SR in all cases.

If you have recently done a bunch of Microsoft updates, you may have also gotten IE8 so maybe that something was wrong here although the normaliz.dll is the same for each version.

When you see the error, you can click beyond it and eventually arrived at your screen background image where you can press CTRL-ALT-DEL to start Task Manager. TM, you can click file, new task, Browse and edit the menu drop-down "Files of type" to all files that you can see all the files in folders.

Go to c:\windows\system32 to see if normaliz.dll is really missing. If the error appears again while browsing, just click OK to get past it.  The explorer.exe tries to run and cannot until the missing file is replaced.

If it's the only thing missing, you can get one from a working system of the same type as yours, copy on a Flash DRIVE or a floppy disk and always using TM, to browse, copy and paste it where it should be or you can download one of my SkyDrive.

TM, you can still access your thumb or any other medium the same disk by navigating, copy, paste, etc very well all work.  You use TM to navigate to your thumb or floppy disk, copy the normaliz.dll good and then paste it in the c:\windows\system32 folder, where it is supposed to be.

If things get worse, just return to TM and remove the file back where you were in first place and continue troubleshooting.

Using a system that works, you can also download a copy of the file from my SkyDrive and put it on a floppy or USB thumbdrive and networks diskettes for the distressed system.  Sandalenet means wear you the system afflicted by hand.

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=6a7e789cab1d6f39&ID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called normaliz when the name of the file should really be called normaliz.dll (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest.

  • Media Center 2005 crashed I loaded Windows XP sp2. Installing XP cannot load explorer.exe and another dll file... Need help or information on how to request recovery of microsoft disk MC2005... Gateway has not.

Help please... I have a gateway gt4024 designed with Media Center 2005. Recently, the system was not "acting accordingly so I tried to reload the OS." I realized that I didn't have the recovery disc, then I decided to load XP Professional I had on it. The law on the computer is as it has been installed correctly and then I get a message saying explorer.exe could not be loaded properly or the drive perhaps is corupted and the same message to another .dll file. Once completed, I can reboot and use the computer, but then the windows installer will not work and the drivers are still present on the hard drive. Now, I loaded the new operating system before and I know that pilots are not supposed to be always present on the system. I then put a new hardrive has had the same problem. So, I then took the hardrive and placed in another computer that was be a dell and load xp fine without error. Can someone point me in the right direction. I contacted gateway to another Media Center recoverydisk, but they said because the computer was no longer under warranty, that they did not have the specified disc and to contact Microsoft. A link would be useful.

  • Windows 8 explorer.exe crash - ntdll

    Hello

I'm having issues where explorer.exe crashes.  This occurs while I'm doing something that uses explorer.exe, such as moving files or folders to open.  However, if a file is opened and slowed, explorer.exe will tend to hang.  I don't know if that's when my computer is idle, however.  I have 2 files in my explorer.exe process in my Public SkyDrive folder dump.  I would fix my own problem, but I don't really know how to debug a DMP file and get something meaningful out of it.
If necessary, I can create a larger file of the DMP of explorer.exe crashing, but I'll do so if requested.  Also, tell me if someone needs more information.

  • defects in ntdll.dll, and BSOD more frequent

Hello! I'm at my wits end with and would appreciate any advice.

    I have a Lenovo IdeaCentre K430 running Windows 7 64 - bit (professional home?).

A few months ago, I started having problems with ntdll.dll - for example, right click on computer then choosing manage leads to a crash of explorer.exe with ntdll.dll as the culprit. This happens with other applications that seem to use ntdll.dll, such as Viewer photos and Freecell - for these programs, housing starts process in the Manager of tasks then closes, no error message.

Then my computer started blue screening. It started occasionally, always reading something with audio: 8tracks, panopto (software recording/video presentation for conferences, I think he uses Silverlight), even the audio stream of NPR.

    These are things I've done:

    1. check the latest versions of the video/graphics drivers.

    2 defragmented.

    3. don't run the programs antivirus - no problem.

    4. don't run a registry cleaner - no problem.

5 run scannow and chkdsk - no problem.

    6 uninstall unused programs.

7 prevented Cisco VPN to boot at startup.

    8. don't run the processor Intel - no problem Diagnostic tool...

    9. run one or two Windows debugging tools, don't remember which - no problem.

    10. don't run many convenience stores control panel - no problems.

    11. run the Driver Verifier recommended on a thread here.

When I run the driver verifier and started 8track, the computer crashed almost immediately and could restart only startup repair mode / and I back to a restore point.

Here are several minidumps. The dated 112015 one is the crash after running Driver Verifier.

I thank very you much for any advice you have. I don't know how to determine if it is a question of power supply, a GPU problem, or something else entirely. Or if I should buy a new computer.

    Thanks for your quick response.

Have you tried to run the System File Checker and perform a clean boot? We really recommend it.

On the other hand, you can try the other options below if it doesn't:

    Method 1: update Windows

    1. Click on the Start button and look for Control Panel.
    2. Click system and security, and then select Windows Update.
    3. Click search for updates , and then click install updates.

If you encounter him even after the update of Windows try to reinstall the DLL.

    Method 2: Reinstall the DLL

    1. Type cmd in the search box, and then click right to select command prompt run as administrator.
    2. Type this in the command prompt:
      • regsvr32.exe /u ntdll.dll and press ENTER key (this allows to uninstall the file)
      • regsvr32.exe ntdll.dll and press ENTER key (this will reinstall the file).

Let us know how it goes.

    Kind regards

If you find this useful, feel free to mark as answer.

  • Explorer.exe crash - Win7 verifier.dll & ntdll.dll

    Hello

Recently I've known explorer.exe hangs in my win7 pc. Initially, the failed module is ntdll.dll & now its verifier.dll. I am attaching the file dump on incident. In fact, I had only this time dump after about 10-20 accidents: (.)
    http://www.mediafire.com/?yev6d7dsdzns8z2
PLS, analyze and help me solve the problem.
    Thank you
    JAI

You provided according to the following file dump on incident, there are two problematic files potential .dll:

    * Exception analysis *.
    *                                                                             *

Use! analyze - v to obtain detailed debugging information.

    Probably caused by: BtwNamespaceExt.dll ( btwnamespaceext+ 367e6)

The two files are the BtwNamespaceExt.dll and the IDMShellExt64.dll.

So try to update or, if necessary, to uninstall related programs (software WIDCOMM\Bluetooth and Internet Download Manager).

Also, you have enabled "Application Verifier"?
