Windows 7 explorer.exe crashes. ntdll.dll.

I've been back up my collection of movies using WMC 7 recently whenever I click on a folder with a big drive blu ray of the explorer.exe file crashes...

When I press play in media center I get this one:

Description:

I tried a "clean boot" did not work, I also uninstalled my video drivers (also used as a sweeper registry in safe mode) and reinstalled it, still nothing...

This is the dump of the crash of the folder:
http://CID-e0911a8075e4a249.Office.live.com/self.aspx/crash/Explorer.exe.5060.dmp

For some reason a dump is not created when WMC crashes...

Any help would be appreciated!

According to the dump file seems to be the cause of the accident:

Cannot load C:\Program Files\Shark007\filters\DivXThumbnailProvider.dll, 0n2 error Win32 image

The DivXThumbnailProvider.dll seems to be a component of DivX Plus Media Foundation and, in your case, seems to be a part of the Win7codecs software.

Then you can try what is suggested in the following link:

http://Shark007.NET/forum/thread-crashed-Windows-Explorer-in-some-folder-s?highlight=Explorer

Or uninstall the Win7codecs program.

    Hello

I'm having issues where explorer.exe crashes.  This occurs while I'm doing something that uses explorer.exe, such as moving files or folders to open.  However, if a file is opened and slowed, explorer.exe will tend to hang.  I don't know if that's when my computer is idle, however.  I have 2 files in my explorer.exe process in my Public SkyDrive folder dump.  I would fix my own problem, but I don't really know how to debug a DMP file and get something meaningful out of it.

  • Windows 8 explorer.exe crash/restart of cycle - all solutions?

I was stuck in the cycle of crash/restart explorer.exe since September now and I am curious to know if there are definitive solutions. A fix would be nice...

    Details
I installed Windows 8 Pro x 64 September 18 (reliability monitor information). The first instance of this crash/restart cycle was September 24. Then, I tried to find out what happened on this day: there was an automatic installation of an update of definition for Windows Defender (KB2267602 (definition 1.137.336.0).) Looking at the previous day, the following are installed:
    • Google Drive
    • Update Google Helper
    • Microsoft Hardware USB keyboard
    • Microsoft Hardware USB mouse
    • Generic Non Plug-and-Play monitor
    • AccuWeather.AccuWeatherforWindows8
    • InvokeITLimited.TableClock
According to the reliability monitor, the problem occurs about fifteen to twenty-five times a week. The level of reliability varies from 1 to 4. (I don't know what the vertical scale means that there is no label.)

I just started going through applications Windows 8 and uninstall, in hope, where is the problem. (One interesting thing is that the issue almost never happens when I'm not using my computer - it occurs most often when I save a file in a program (it is often with Photoshop Elements, but this is not the only program that seems to induce the cycle crash/restart).) At least the file I save is not damaged...

Can someone help me to look into this?
    Thank you
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,.

Remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

Possible cause would be due to out-of-date video drivers, corrupted system files, viruses or malware, faulty RAM, infection etc..

I suggest you follow these methods and check:

    Method 1: Run the hotfix:
Windows Explorer crashes randomly in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2638018/en-us

Method 2: Follow the suggestions in this article:
    Explorer Windows stopped working

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2694911/en-us

Virus scan: while the Virus scan, data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

Clean boot: after a repair, be sure to put the computer to a normal startup mode.

Update on site: note this upgrade on the spot takes the same amount of time to do the upgrade as to reinstall the operating system. In addition, some of your custom Windows settings may be lost through this process.

Follow the steps and let us know if this helps.  If the problem persists, please answer and we will be happy to help you.

  • Windows 7 explorer.exe crashes when you go to properties.

Hello, I have a windows 7 Ultimate x 64. I was working on my PC after using Windows Update, and when I go to check the properties of 'Computer', it crashes. I tried rollbacking that updates, but that has not worked, and the system restore is irrelevant. Also, now I have to pay almost all of the programs to run in "Windows 7", on a Windows 7 compatibility mode! Is it a mistake to register when you enter the properties of the computer? Please help since my error is specific.

    I managed to fix it.

Those who have the problem, try turning off graphics driver via Device Manager and go to the properties of the computer, if I'm right, it should not give the error explorer.exe. If so, I recommend that you have installed the previous version of the driver for the card.

And auggy, I erase the DLL, they did not affect the operating system. Thanks for your help.

  • Win7 appcrash App: explorer.exe fault: ntdll.dll

    Hi, thanks for my question!

After leaving my computer in hibernation during the night a few days before, I found a few updates had been installed and the system tried to reboot. Permit this and after restarting, I tried to resume editing of audio files and browsing the forums. I started seeing pop-ups telling me that Windows Explorer has stopped working. Choose "Search the Web for a solution and restart" failed to retrieve the results. The problem ~ every 2.2 minutes after that the Explorer was launched, and close the Explorer does not stop the cycle.

I did the steps proposed in other cases of appcrash quite similar, including the clean boot: no joy. I'm at the end of my competence, but also my patience. While it is a computer pretty new (for me) and pretty cool update to Win 7Pro, I'd rather not wipe it and start over. I prefer a lot to know what went wrong and take corrective action.

The error points to the duser.dll which is a component of Windows:

    Probably caused by: duser.dll (duser! CoreSC::xwSendNL + 1bc)

There is also the participation of the dui70.dll that may indicate a problem with the graphic driver such as the hccutils.dll components.

Can update you the graphics driver to the latest version.

Post back if the error persists, or if it is impossible to update the graphics driver with in addition to the files of dump to see if the error is consistent.

  • Windows Server 2003 R2 explorer.exe crashing

    Hello

I am looking for help on a PC server.

All programs work correctly and for all intensive purposes, the server is very good.

The problem is that explorer.exe crashes every 3 to 8 seconds.

I had a quick glance at the file hmdp and tbh it means nothing to me.

Could someone kind take a look on it and maybe point me in the right direction?

  • Windows 7 Explorer.exe unresponsive - Event ID 1000 (new construction)

    Hello

I have stability with Windows 7 Explorer.exe problems on my newly built PC.

Web browsers and Explorer.exe crash at startup or display the message "stopped responding" to the opening.
The Explorer.exe "not responding" issue has become less common, but I think it's perhaps related to the instability with web browsers.
I find no trigger that causes the crash, the PC is perfectly stable when left slowed or even during running scans.

It may not be relevant, but for a short period, I found that typing caused accidents. Opening IE11 and click on the links on the homepage has worked.

However the second I typed in the address bar or search IE11 would be "blocks".
During this time I could also cause explorer.exe crash by typing the search / in the start menu. Still manually by clicking programs and icons did not cause an accident. Still happen when using the virtual keyboard.
However, this is no past time, but the instability of web browser continues. Is a crash on startup (Firefox more than IE11) or "does not" after various periods of time.

    Test completed

    • SFC/scannow reveals no problem
    • No card graphics or other PCI devices are not connected (mother/ram/cpu only Board)
    • RAM has been tested on this PC & another known working PC & vice vera
    • Audit pilot Manager does not display any driver without a permit
    • 2009 fix for this issue is not relevant as input 'gas machine' is not in the registry
    • All the installed drivers are WHQL

I'd appreciate really any contributions to this number & it makes me crazy now. I can't believe I'm the only person having problems on a new installation.

    Thank you!

The modules 'fault' seem to be all the system such as the MSHTML.dll files.

However another, possibly third-party files, can actually cause accidents.

It can help to see what modules are loading during accidents.

You can download and run the following application (AppCrashView):

    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/app_crash_view.html

Click on one of the mistakes recent iexplore.exe.

Can you copy and paste the information that appears in the lower window that loaded modules.

Do the same for an error in explorer.exe.

  • When click with the right button on the icons, explorer.exe crashes XP

In addition to advice of Ajay, I recommend also run a full scan with your antivirus.

  • Explorer.exe crashes by clicking the context menu items

    Hi guys,.

I have XP Professional SP3 and when I right click on a file and select a voice as 'open' or 'open with' from the context menu, explorer.exe crashes...

The description of the error event is (in Italian):

"Application che ha provocato error explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.5512, modulo che ha provocato error unknown, version 0.0.0.0, address error 0 x 00000000."

By further information, using the guide in linea e supporto tecnico all' address http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. »

    What can I do?

    Thank you

I'm sorry that I can't read your beautiful Italian, but problems with a right-click are most often caused by a third-party software that inserts entries in the context menu. You can fix the latter with ShellExView free utility.

  • Media Center 2005 crashed I loaded Windows XP sp2. Installing XP cannot load explorer.exe and another dll file... Need help or information on how to request recovery of microsoft disk MC2005... Gateway has not.

Help please... I have a gateway gt4024 designed with Media Center 2005. Recently, the system was not "acting accordingly so I tried to reload the OS." I realized that I didn't have the recovery disc, then I decided to load XP Professional I had on it. The law on the computer is as it has been installed correctly and then I get a message saying explorer.exe could not be loaded properly or the drive perhaps is corupted and the same message to another .dll file. Once completed, I can reboot and use the computer, but then the windows installer will not work and the drivers are still present on the hard drive. Now, I loaded the new operating system before and I know that pilots are not supposed to be always present on the system. I then put a new hardrive has had the same problem. So, I then took the hardrive and placed in another computer that was be a dell and load xp fine without error. Can someone point me in the right direction. I contacted gateway to another Media Center recoverydisk, but they said because the computer was no longer under warranty, that they did not have the specified disc and to contact Microsoft. A link would be useful.

    BizzyBidnez,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  Here is a link to the replacement of media information: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246
However, since the entrance to the bridge of your system, the product key may not work with a replacement non - OEM drive.  I'm surprised that the bridge was not able to provide a replacement drive.

I hope this helps. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Windows XP explorer.exe keeps hanging, freezing and crashing

Recently installed the new copy of Windows XP SP2 on a new SSD and updated to SP3. My old hard drive is used to store the data now. I also have an external hard drive. I have 4 GB of RAM installed (I know Windows uses only about 3).

The problem I have is that whenever I try to transfer files, transfer files slows down a lot. I could transfer a 60 MB file with extension .db for my external hard drive on the internal storage drive and the file transfer will tell 10 seconds to 20 seconds remaining, and it takes forever. If I cancel the file transfer, sometimes, I'm unable to close windows Explorer, or change files or right click on the files. They can do a text "not responding" appear next to the title. Usually, my Start menu and task bar becomes disabled/inaccessible. I can't click on things, do a right click or use the windows key. Sometimes I have to force quit the explorer.exe, and sometimes it hangs on its own. The start menu disappears and if I have "explorer.exe" Task Manager, it opens a new window of Solution Explorer, but I have to restart to get everything working again.
For my SSD, I use Samsung magician and have disabled disabled prefetcher, of indexing and my samsung magician set power settings. I updated the Intel controller for readers, and "Write cache" is enabled in the strategies of discs. I also tried to switch off the Protection of data for explorer.exe running, but it does not work and currently I have DEP on for everything. This suspension occurs sometimes, simply browsing through Explorer. I installed a 3rd party file 'ExplorerXP' Manager but met the same problem there. I also ran chkdsk and Defrag the interal storage disk. All my services are at their default settings.

Thanks for the reply. I have only the OEM drive, so I can't run the System File Checker. I have run chkdsk, and everything came back fine. Regarding anti-virus, I was using windows security essentials.

I went ahead and bought a new hard drive. I backed up my files on external hard drive, course deleted my SSD and formatted the embarrassing internal drive. Installed the new hard drive and installed the new OS on the SSD.
With the new drive and installed former player, I noticed that still send me in trouble. It works, but is very slow when copy/transfer of large files. I unplugged, unless you know how I could make a use - for example to keep more small files less than 30 MB on it.
