Win7 OEM, new phones, I need new license?

I bought this copy of windows 7 OEM: https://www.komplett.no/microsoft-windows-7-home-premium-en/631913

After installation of this and has been used for a few years now, I decided to pass on my graphics card to the motherboard, cpu and power supply. What I have to buy a new license or is it possible to reuse it in the same case? It is the only computer that will be used, so I don't see how this can be a problem.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

What is OEM software? :

So, Yes, you will need a new license, some people have managed to reactivate the OEM System Builder License on new motherboards, but is not a guarantee.

If you already have a license, you need not to buy another. You can reinstall Windows as often as you want.

However, reformatting and reinstalling Windows because you have a problem are almost always a very bad answer to the problem and almost bever should be done. It is usually very difficult and often causes its own problems.

With a minimum of care, should never be to reinstall Windows (XP or any other version). I ran Windows 3.0, 3.1, WFWG 3.11, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 now, each for the period of time before the next release is out and everyone on two or more machines here. I never reinstalled none of them (with one exception--a problem that I worked on for weeks without success), and I've never had anything more than an occasional minor problem.

It is my belief that this erroneous notion comes from the technical support people in most of the major OEMs. Their solution to almost any problem, for they know not quickly answer is "reformat and reinstall. It is the ideal solution for them. It gets you phone turned off quickly, it almost always works, and it does not need to do any real troubleshooting (a skill that most of them has obviously not in any great degree).

But it leaves you with all the work and all the problems. You must restore all backups of your data, you must reinstall all of your programs, you must reinstall all Windows and updates of the application, you must locate and install all the necessary drivers for your system, you will need to recustomize Windows and all your applications to work the way you are comfortable with.

In addition to all these things being long and painful, you may encounter difficulties with some of them: you will find all your CDs application? You will find all the necessary installation codes? You have data backups to restore? You still remember all the customizations and settings that can be installed to make everything work the way you like it? Sometimes there are problems that are so difficult to resolve that Windows has to be reinstalled properly. But they are few and far between; RESETTLEMENT should not be a substitute for troubleshooting; It should be a last resort, to do that once all other troubleshooting by qualified person attempts have failed.

And perhaps most important: If you reformat and reinstall without knowing what caused your problem, you will most likely repeat the behavior that caused it and quickly find yourself in exactly the same situation.

If you have any problems, post the details of them here; It is likely that someone can help you and you won't have to reinstall.

  • doesn't have a HDD with Win7 OEM, which has been improved to win 10 - No Media - how to install the new SSD?

    Hi members of the community.

One of my colleagues brought me his personal computer to the difficulty.  It's a phone of 2011 which has Win 7 pre installed on it (OEM with a recovery partition).  It has no support for the version of Win 7 and she never bothered with the creation of recovery media or to order the installation media, but since its purchase, it has upgraded to Win 8, then 8.1 and finally Win10.

Problem, it is the disk HARD watch of major equipment failures and every time you start more errors appear that problems are cascade.  There is a recovery on the HARD drive partition, but windows has trouble starting, I fear that this recovery partition is useless, because we don't want the windows reinstalled on this faulty drive.

Can any advise if there is a way to install a windows OS on windows versions, that it has improved or the original win7 OEM supplied with the laptop without the media and with a damaged HARD drive?

The hard drive that is damaged is a 750 GB drive at 5400 RPM samsung - she bought a new 980 GB SSD sata III.  I have already confirmed the laptop can use Sata III - I have a true picture and was curious to know if I can clone the recovery partition (if its still viable) can I do it on the SSD and then force the recovery on the SSD drive?  or that violate the license for OEM?

Any advice would be appreciated, because I'm used to using volume licenses and I am new to OEM preinstalled OS damaged.

  • Updating ESX 4.0 build 208167 4.1 last. We need to get a new license for this?

    Hello, guys.

We have a few hosts running ESX 4.0 build 208167.

He is former generation and it has a large number of vulnerabilities.

I can't find if we do something with our existing licenses if we upgrade to 4.1 last? ESX will work fine with the old license after that upgrade or we will need to obtain a new license of support?

    Thank you in advance.

vSphere license keys are provided for major releases, so there shouldn't be the need of another license key.

  • I need to move my copy of my old computer to a new CS6.  I need my license reset?

I need to move my copy of my old computer to a new CS6.  I need my license reset?

You are allowed to have the software installed and enabled on both machines, so there is nothing you need to install other than (and not move) the software on the new machine, unless you already have it enabled on both machines.

If you do not plan to use the old machine again or prefer to simply remove the software, or you want to keep an activation of another machine at any given time, it is preferable that you clear beforehand.  To disable an opening of applications and choose Help-> Deactivate.  Once disable you there is nothing else you need to do unless you want to uninstall as well to gain more disk space.

What is the procedure to transfer Acrobat X Pro license previously downloaded from the Adobe LWS from one computer to another without having to purchase a new license?

    Appreciate any assistance.

    Hi Mikhail Y.,.

To the license transfer of Acrobat X from your first computer to the second computer, you just need to uninstall Acrobat X from your first computer and install it on the second computer with serial number.

With any other software, it is necessary to disable the software in the Help menu of the software but with Acrobat X uninstaller will disable the software of the machine and you can easily activate the same thing on the second computer.

  • Simple rejected edition, need new license to resubmit?

    Hi users DPS.

My Single Edition app was rejected by Apple and their requirements in order, I'll need to do a lot of re - work and then resubmit the application. Should my question - I buy a new license of simple editing to resubmit the application update? If I do not have (since it is the same application and of course he never did with the App Store etc.) are there limits to how much can be changed and have the application still considered an individual license update? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated, I would like to know some details about it before making adjustments to your time.

    Thank you very much.

    Hey Galen,

You don't have to buy a new license of simple editing.  You can adjust as you wish until the application has been approved by Apple. After that see: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4172167#4172167#4172167

  • transfer basic family win7 to new pc

I bought Win 7 Home basic 32-bit English (OEM System builder pack, dvd) and installed on a desktop, enabled through phone.

After a while, I bought a laptop pre-installed with some other operating systems like linux. After that, I didn't have desktop used for awhile. I formatted the hard drive and used for another device. (I still have this hard drive and desktop pc with me). Now, I tried to install win7 on my laptop. But I can't activate it with the purchased product key. Is it possible to unregeister or to activate win7 desktop and turn on my new laptop?

You cannot transfer an OEM license on another computer. OEM licenses live and die with the first PC, they are installed on the.

You must purchase a new license for Windows 7, if you want to install on your laptop.

  • My system crashed, I reinstalled Windows 7, now Microsoft asks that I purchase a new license

Built my own computer and bought Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  Installed it and everything went well.  I installed a software that eventually crashed my system, I did a clean install of my Windows 7 Pro.  Now MS tells me that I have to buy a new license.  He thinks that my old installation is done on another computer (I've added a new material since - maybe if I get out?).

Of course, I will not buy another license - this is the same computer.

If you have purchased an OEM / System Builder of Windows 7 version, then change the motherboard cancels your product key.

  • If I have to buy a new license for Windows if I replace the mother/CPU card

    Original title:Win 7 OEM + new motherboard

I have a prégénérée with Windows preinstalled machine and the mother/cpu card must be replaced.  If I replace them should I buy a new Windows license?

    Thank you

There are provisions for the replacement of defective motherboards without the need to buy another license OEM, this isn't really a problem for major pc manufacturers that replace motherboards warranty.  Small manufacturers have a leeway as long as the motherboard is designed as a replacement for a defective.  If the motherboard is replaced as an 'upgrade' then the terms of this EULA do not allow this.

  • Problem creating VM Win7 on new PC without ISO

I just bought a new computer with Win7 Home Premium and also buy VMWorkstation 7.  I wanted to create a "clone" of Win7, but the pc mfg (HP) did not provide records of Win7 OEM.  Instead they installed a "recovery partition" on the system so that if something happened, Win7 could be restored from the recovery partition.

What I tried to do, is that first of all, I have created a backup system (using Acronis workstation 9.5) Acronis.  Then went into vmware and select the import option and select the acronis .tib file.  The wizard displays 3 partitions to select, an 'active' partition, the partition "C" and "D" partition (which is the recovery HP/Win7 partition).  I tried selecting all the different combinations of those partitions (all the 3, just 1 & 2, 2 & 3, etc, etc.).  But in all cases, after vmware creates the virtual machine and I try to turn on the virtual machine, I get an error of Windows boot manager indicating that something has changed in the software or hardware and a required device is missing.

So is there a trick to create a virtual machine using a tib Acronis file?  Or does anyone have any suggestions on how to create a virtual machine from my current win7 drive without having the CD / iso of the original disks of win7?  I'm at my wits end on what to try next.

    TIA

    Jim

PS: I also tried the same thing using the stand-alone vmconverter software (try to convert the acronis in this way).  But I get the same Windows Boot Manager error message.

.. .and once more I'll be back in the Windows boot manager with an error message indicating that a required device is missing...

After you have created the virtual machine and restore the Acronis image, before the virtual machine, run converter and choose "configure Machine."  He is injecting the missing drivers in the virtual machine.  I do not think that Windows7 is supported, but I have not yet tried converter on Win7.  I hope that Win7 is close enough for converter to cope.

Otherwise, you must use a 'restore anywhere' feature there in Acronis when restoring.  ("Restore anywhere", this is what we call the function in Symantec Backup Exec System Restore http://a.k.a. Ghost. )  I don't know how it's called in the Acronis products.)  'Restore anywhere' is designed to restore the image of a different motherboard or speed control, which is exactly what you are doing and the probable reason for the error message.

... Of course, all this would be so much simpler if HP would be provided only the installation discs for Win7 OEM w / the new computer instead of just a "recovery"... disk partition

Even if HP gave you recovery disks (or order you from HP), it is likely that disk drives 'factory restore', which would be essentially use something like Acronis to restore an image of the HD, just as the recovery partition.  Or the discs would be related to a specific model of HP and won't work in the virtual machine.  (My HP restore discs to work this way.  They cannot be run in a virtual machine and you need to do some manual complex extraction in order to use windows on restore disks.)  If HP discs probably not help much anyway.
