Win7 SATELLITE L550 - 11 k: no available WLan connection

Hello

I just bought a satellite L550 - 11 k
and installed Windows 7 2 days ago...
This ok so far...

But today, I wanted to start my thread... but the FN + F8 buttoncombination won't let me start my wireless...
before (under Vista) when I pushed the button FN, appeard there is a taskbar at the top... which is no longer the same...
even the Radar where I can pick up stations wireless isn´t to find more on my laptop...?

someone at - it an idea how to solve this problem...
or a link where I can find drivers for WINDOWS 7 vor?

any help would be useful...
because I bought the Notebook Pentecost oportunety upgrade...

But if I have not found a solution before Monday I have to swap the portable...
.. I am a student (this is why there may simply use the windows 7 still) and really need a laptop that is running...
working with her...

And in general I'm happy with Toshiba...

Hello

I didn t find Win 7 driver yet on the European driver Toshiba page.
But I found the beta version of Win7 drivers Toshiba page we
The fact is that not all series of phones are supported you will need to test

The L500/L550 don't seem to support the switch WLan hardware, but just that the FN + F8 key combination. The downside is that you can not activate the WLan if the compatible driver that controls the FN keys would not be installed.

I read about it in a few discussions, but unfortunately without the use of FN + F8, you will not be able to activate the WLan. :(

I want to connect a headset bluetooth Philips for my Toshiba Satellite L550 - 13 c. (windows 7 64) What is the best way to do this?, if there is a way. The only thing I could find is one to activate bluetooth that I had to use the FN in combination with F8.

But still, I am not able to detect or connect the bluetooth headset to my computer.

    Thanks for any advice.

The question just the beginning for you: are you using the original preinstalled recovery (OS) image that you got with your laptop?

I just want to know if all the software, including the BT software (battery Toshiba BT) are preinstalled on your computer.

  • Satellite L50 - B - 21 G: abandon WLan connection / power issue

I bought my laptop about six weeks ago and its driving me crazy. I could be sitting with him and suddenly I lose the internet connection, I try to reconnect, but cannot as he seems to have "abandoned" the Broadcom 802.11n network adapter. I'm not very irritable but sees someone else has had this problem and follow a few instructions to restore the previous driver for the network adapter, but it just made things worse.

In addition, I can never turn my laptop. If I choose the "shut down" option then it turns off, but there is always a light flashing around the power button. I heard he's going a few hybrid sleep, but I had instructions to stop this, but again its happening. I can't just press the power button to restart the laptop it restarts with the loss of the network adapter (see above), so I sit in pressing and holding the button several times until it restarts finally with the back working network adapter.

If I just stopped the lid (as I applied this option overall upwards), then three hours I can just return, press a button and begin to work, however, once again, I can not because the network adapter is down and I have to then push and hold the power button (that choose shut down doesn't seem to work).

This laptop was designed to replace an old ADVENT that caused me grief, but I'm done with nothing else than a box of junk that I want to throw. Worse yet, I'm not at all way techy am so not able to do what many of you can do to correct problems so I tried to find a phone number to call Toshiba and never get an option to type in what is my problem and then follow the online help that I tried and does not work! Y at - there someone who can give me a number for Toshiba that I can call for help if I need help more than anybody can give me here? Thank you.

I have already answered in another thread with the similar question of Wlan and I guess it could be a related issue of energy saving:

    Reach:
Windows power options - choose the right central - advanced power options.
Search of the WLan card settings and set it to "best performance".
You must also set the parameters for the PCI express for the 'best performance '.

In addition, go to the Device Manager. Choose here the Wlan card properties
Switch to the last tab called "Power Management" and make sure that the option available in this tab is not checked!

  • Satellite Pro M30 series deactivates the WLan connection

I have an old Satellite Pro M30 series. Whenever I turn on the wireless signal, the computer closes its doors.
I assume that the driver's latest version.

I'm not known for that Yes, there is someone out there who can advise me on where to find the latest driver and install it.

    Assuming this is the problem.

    Thank you
    Gibbsey

    > spend a lot of time on the wireless signal, the computer closes its doors.

What do you mean exactly by farm down?
The laptop turns off automatically once the WiFi (switch) card is turned on?

I put t think this would cause obsolete WLan driver, this sounds like a hardware problem.
In case it of not possible to use the internal WiFi card, I recommend to use an external USB WiFi dongle.
    Would be the best option

PS: all the drivers for old Toshiba laptops are placed on the page of the Toshiba UE driver.
You will need to search the archives (in the product Type click Archive) for a list of the old series of laptop computer.

  • Satellite P L50-B-1 1 - WLAN connection problem

    Hi all

I have an annoying problem that persists with my wifi adapter, after about 20 minutes using my wifi adapter will drop connection and windows will identify a problem with him which will be normally corrected by running the option "solve problems". The windows hotfix identifies is "reset the adapter.

On occasion if the convenience store will plant which then in turn turns off the wifi card who then cannot be turned on again until the phone has been restarted, but in turn the laptop freezes then trying to stop and I can only turn off by holding the power button.

Device Manager is not any issues even when the connection dropped and maintains that the device works properly.

If someone could help me to fix this problem, I would be extremely grateful.

    Thank you

  • Satellite L550 PSLW8A can only get OEM Win7 Pro 32-bit to 64-bit?

    Hi all

    I am writing from Australia.

Two weeks ago, I bought a new laptop Toshiba ([http://tinyurl.com/ye6jkuq]) with the following characteristics:

    Model: Satellite L550
    Reference number: PSLW8A-01101F
    BIOS: V1.60
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P7450 2.13 GHz
    RAM: 4 GB
    HARD DRIVE: 500 GB
OS: Windows 7 Professional 32-bit (OEM preinstalled)

    My question:
    How can I switch to Win7 Pro * 32 - bit * for Win7 Pro * 64 - bit *?

If I use the recovery disk (the hidden recovery partition) utility to do a clean reinstallation of Win7 Pro, I will give the choice during the process of resettlement of the installation either the 32-bit version or 64-bit?

Or I have + not + get the choice at all and simply be limited to the OEM Win7 Pro 32-bit that came pre-installed version?

All advice or information about how to pass OEM Win7 Pro 32-bit to Win7 Pro 64-bit would be appreciated.

    Nick

    Hello

AFAIK almost all new laptops are available with 32 and 64-bit OS and two recovery images are saved on the HARD drive.
When you start installation HARD drive you should see the option to choose which version must be installed.

Simply start the installation of HARD drive and you will see what menu you will see at the beginning. Not be afraid to do so. Nothing will happen.
Real OS installation starts two steps later. If you can not damage preinstalled OS.

  • Satellite Pro L550 - Realtek RTL8191SE Wlan connection issues

    Hello

Affected by a big problem with my WLAN connection which is ongoing for about a month.
I have problems with a very inconsistent connection.

To start, turn on the laptop of its climate 50-50 I'll successfully connect to my internet. Once connected I constantly disconnect and reconnect, never reached a point of stability, as long as possible without hitch is about 30 minutes, and after this point it will repeat the process above in one or two minutes, making it impossible internet usage.

After following various checks, I can confirm that this is NOT a router problem:

-Several other devices around the home connect without the same problem
-Have you tried the reset and restarted both modem and router without result
-Used new Ethernet cables and checked the other son of bends or damage
-Tried to change the frequency of router and the channel for better connectivity with no result
-Tried to change the location of the router, the closest pass to the laptop for a greater power of the signal without any positive results

Whenever he logs off, I go through a laborious task repetitive troubleshooting and although sometimes it solves the problem, so that it does only temporarily.

Updates on computer and controls are as follows:

-Install the latest drivers for my network card
-The latest version of the BIOS for my laptop
-J' tried UN-installing software and remove driver in Device Manager in the case of a corrupted driver, after re-booting works temporarily and then breaks down in the first 5 minutes
-Tried using windows troubleshooting, which sometimes displays a message on my gateway by default, I don't know what that means well as
-Tried to use other means of verification, connectivity doctor etc., no results
    -Tried to reset network cards
-Tried to use an earlier version of the network card to check if the new drivers were the problem - no result
-Tried resetting IP addresses IP conflict with other devices in the House, no results
    -Played hundreds of reboots

I would like to point out that when using the LAN on my laptop my connection is quite well and I have the experience without interruption, I have also contacted my ISP to ask if there is ongoing network maintenance tasks and check if the internet I receive is consistent.

    Computer laptop specifications: -.

    Toshiba Satellite Pro L550
    Network card: Realtek RTL8191SE
    OS: Windows 7 x32bit

The whole process is infuriating and I am at my wits end as to what to do, is, fuck my network card?

    NB:

This could be a problem as the dust inside my computer laptop on the map, causing interference?
The problem is much more prolific when I use Skype - might be a bandwidth issue?

Open to the suggestions of many, and any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

And all this occur with clean Windows 7 preinstalled that you got with your laptop (factory settings)?

Well. Visit the support site. Choose Windows 7 64 bit.

Where is the added value package? No here!

So... what should I do now?

    Hello

Satellite L550 - 11K belongs to the series of PSLN8E.
Choose this series using the European driver Toshiba page!

  • Question of WLAN switch when you run WiFi for Satellite L550

My Toshiba L550 works well with a line connection cable, but does NOT connect via WiFi (wireless Ethernet)
The User Guide says that wireless switch must be turned on
START > all PROGRAMS > Toshiba > utilities > Toshiba HWSetup check wireless put the setting on IT
I followed these instructions and the message is - the switch settings will be active the next time you turn on.
Followed this instruction time after time but 'SWITCH' (firmware?) just went off

What can I do to fix the switch permanently IN?

Very frustrating. Tent for almost a year. Provider will only look if I the pay (Tottenham Court Road exit). Also need an expensive journeyb in London and leave the itb with them for 2 weeks! Warranty expired almost if necessary emergency assistance. Still works fine with the Ethernet cable connected.
New machine - provided with Windows Vista but IMPROVED with the official Windows 7 disc before you make an Internet connection.

You can activate WLAN card using FN + F8?
    It remains enabled?

  • Satellite L550 - impossible to activate Bluetooth & wireless

    Hello

Can anyone help, I just replaced the hard drive and I have no backup disc for windows 7.
This laptop came with Vista installed and an automatic upgrade to windows 7.

I downloaded all the drivers for this model and I can not get the wireless or Bluetooth to work as they say of
to activate the switch. I searched the sides out of the PC and there is NO switch then, how can we get it to work.

This is the only problem that I have.
PS The Lan cable works OK.

    Thanks in advance.

    Satellite L550 (PSLN8A-00Y008)

On many models of Toshiba WLAN switch is no longer available and WIFI/BT will be enabled/disabled with function keys (FN keys). To work, you must install added Toshiba Value Package and Toshiba Flash Cards Support utility.

You have two of them? Check please if Toshiba flash cards are listed in the startup (run > msconfig > startup).
By the way: you can use the keys FN + Fx?

  • Satellite M50D-A-10W - Windows 7 WLan need driver

Can you help me please on how to install the driver for this model wireless on windows 7?

    Thank you!

Unfortunately your laptop is not supported for Win7, and the driver is not available for download.
I think that your model of laptop has Atheros WLAN card. Am I right about that?

I found another model of laptop that should have the same WLAN card but it is supported for Win7 64 bit.
You can download the driver from here.

Test it please and post comments.

  • Re: Satellite L550 - installation kit is missing

    Hello world

my girlfriend asked me to re - install Windows 7 (64 bit) on his Toshiba Satellite L550 because the OS no longer works correctly. Unfortunately she doesn't know where she stored installation and recovery kit. So, I have to assume this media kit that once came with the laptop is lost now.

Anyone know if the installation or recovery media can be obtained from Toshiba, perhaps as the ISO image to download?
Thanks in advance for any help!

    Thomas

    Hello

first of all, you should try to restore factory of thwe of hard disk image:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=58

If it is not longer available, you can order at toshiba, but for the money:

    backupmedia. Toshiba.eu/Landing.aspx

Unfortunately, you can download the iso file from toshiba from anywhere, is not available. You can also get Win copy of disc to install, all the drivers are available:

  • Satellite L750 - Wireless LAN is disabled, no my home WLAN connection

Hello, I have some problem with my Satellite L750. It has a called Atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless adapter which seems to be in place.

When I turned on my laptop I noticed it was not connected to any network, so I searched and found that it could not find. I checked on my phone (on which I am writing this) and there is my network and many others who are available to connect and mine works great on my phone. I tried to reset the router and nothing happened, I could always connect on my phone and tablet.

I tapped into the wireless software and found the so-called "ConfigFree". In this, I found "Connectivity Doctor". He said that there was a problem with the adapter, and then, after having discussed below, I found he said that 'Wireless LAN Off' next to a red picture of a switch.

Does anyone know how to reactivate it?

You can activate WLAN card by using the FN + F8 key combination?

  • Satellite L550 - 13K - sharing option working memory?

    Hello

Can someone help please with the performance of the video?

According to the specification of Toshiba video card features an option of memory shared to 1,759 Mb with a w7 64-bit system.
When you play WoW, I video performance issues massive experiancing even when my video options are on the smaller settings. Environmental multi-player my average fps is 6.
Tempro, the system is completely up to date.

Considering the options, I do not deliver if the shared memory option works. During the game the 4 GB internal memory is used for only 42 percent. This would theoretically exclude and have no internal memory. In the past you can allocate memory in the BIOS, but that seems to have been automated. Also the video driver does not seem to give all the options, except for the 3d options where I put the driver memory usage to high.

How to determine if this option actually works? and where it can be configured to force them.

Thank you for your help in advance. H

    Hey Buddy,

Quad is right, there is nothing you can do to improve the memory shared for graphics card. Everything will be controlled automatically. Just make sure that you have the maximum capacity of RAM installed, then you will have more video memory.

Satellite L series is not designed for games. It s great for office, Internet, videos, photos, etc. but not the best laptop for games. As a result, the graphics card is not powerful enough.
A series of satellite is better, but the Qosmio series is ideal for games. :)

To be honest it s I do not know that the L550 would be affected by the same problem of keyboard as the L670.
Have you tested this behavior of the laptop with an external USB keyboard?
    Do this

If the same question is not available using the second external USB keyboard, this means that the BIOS is ok and the internal keyboard is affected.
