WIN8 Media streaming on PS3

I updated to Win7 Pro Win8 and installed Media Center. I have enabled the discovery of the network, file sharing, then enabled media sharing in Media Player. I see an unknown device under all the network and the mac for my PS3, however clicking on PS3 Media Server I get an error "access to the media server is not allowed. It is possible that the name of the system for the PS3 system "PS3-485' has not been saved.»

I found a Microsoft thread suggesting to add a registry entry, tried that as well. Did not work. Irony is that my other laptop computer Win7 works fine in the same network without doing something else that I cannot fix Win8. A difference that I noticed in the server name multimedia PS3 Win7 appears as computer name: user name. Where as in Win8 it appears as a computer name: invited, I have no why it's using a guest account and if that matters. In Win8 play option for files with multimedia (photos, video, music) is grayed out so I guess it didn't find any media player in the network where I can read the media.
I don't know that I am not alone with this problem, someone capable of making it work? really appreciate your valuable information.
Thank you

FINALLY, I DID THIS JOB.

Go to control the network and Internet\HomeGroup
Leave the homegroup.
Laptop-> HomeGroup settings stops and now allows you to create a homegroup. Sharing media files for TVs and game console is now turned on, value yes.
GoTo Media Player-> stream-> check automatically allow devices to play...
Now in 2 PS3 media player that presented themselves, it is always invited and is not accessible, even. But finally showed up at the other media player I was hoping all the while. Name: library name of the computer and now it works perfectly, as with Win7.
BTW, I also did some research and found that play option for Win8 media is only available for DMR not to the DMP. PS3 is a DMP.
Hope I am able to help my fellow geeks :)

  • Interruptions of media streaming to PS3

    Hello

I am running XP SP3, Windows Media Player 11 and a PS3 with the latest updates on the network home wireless: when you watch a movie, the audio/video freezes from time to time.  Do more with longer movies.  What should I look for stop interruptions?  Thank you!
    see you soon,
    rbidds

streaming on the ps3 itself of the PC sometimes causes lag, but when you do that since an externall it becomes even worse. especially if the ps3 is wireless.

Place the video files you want to stream to your ps3 on your internal hard drive and remove them if you do not want to see them in the future. (to make more room)

the shift amount also depends on the quality of the video. streaming a video of 1080IP will certainly be delay anything. (I usually put these on my computer and then save them to the ps3 via the media stream, usually takes 5-10 minutes and does not cause any watch from the drive of the ps3 lag.) but watching a lower quality video or converted down, cause less lag.

  • cannot depend on the discovery network and media streaming in windows 7

I have recently reinstalled windows 7 because that... Well, it was long due, my laptop for about 3 years now and still had the original installation on it. But this time every time when I try to turn on my network discovery he constantly changing to and in my home group when I click on choose media streaming options and try to turn on media streaming it dose nothing, I looked at about 20-25 different sites/forums and followed the guide on here it is turn on and set to automatic

    o computer browser
    o Client DHCP
    o customer DNS
    o network connections
    o knowledge of network locations
    o remote procedure call (RPC)
    o server
    o support TCP/IP Netbios
    o workstation
and a few others that I found as switch function Discovery Provider Host but still nothing, even uninstalled my A / V AVG, turned off my firewall altogether and also tried to get into safe mode with networking, I tried to leave my home group and join, tried to change an active home to work and even public network but still not good.
I mainly use this function to listen to music from my laptop to my Xbox then play the games, but if my Xbox can't locate my cell phone so I can't listen to music, using windows media center, it works I can listen to music, photos videos etc, but that's all that is not of a any real use to me.
My laptop is a fujitsu Siemens, I have a Wi - Fi connection with my laptop and Xbox, but have you tried Wired, the Xbox can find my laptop ok MOM, she can't find my cell phone no more.
IM at the end of my rope here I really don't know what else to do to reinstall my windows in the hope that it work that I really want to avoid, especially if it still does not.

Right, I discovered how to activate my network discovery and multimedia streaming, I solved this problem when trying to leave my home group, and he wouldn't so let me google and I found this link http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/23571-cant-leave-homegroup.html where he says to check

    The base filtering engine
    DNS client
    Function Discovery Provider Host
    Function Discovery Resource Publication
    HomeGroup listener
    HomeGroup provider
    Server
    SSDP Discovery
    UPnP device host
    Windows Firewall
services, only 1 of which has not been started and set to automatic has function Discovery Provider Host & Upnp Device Host so I changed it restarted now my settings be saved, left the Group House and each reflection works well.
Then maybe add additional 1s in this list the standard response that is sent to these issues.
    Thanks anyway for the help.
  • Cannot "turn on media streaming" - another user of Windows 7 with the same problem and the "suggested correction '' does not.

This windows bug has been reported and 'responded' before by several people, but the "answers" do not work for me - and they do seem to work for a lot of people in this area and other forums.  I hope you can provide me with a real estate diagnosis, a reason for why this happens and a real solution that works for everyone.

I'm trying to 'Turn on media streaming' in Windows Media Player so I can listen to my xbox and other home theater equipment.  The problem I have is the same problem as [of] other people have reported: in Windows Media Player, I press the turn on the 'link', the button greys streamin media shortly, but then nothing, and streaming is not enabled.

I don't have a network problem.  I was able to extend Microsoft Media Center on my xbox.  (simply not enable streaming in WMP).  With media center extended is a large (better) workaround for the xbox, but this isn't a solution for my other home theater devices. I need to be able to listen to my receiver and blu - ray player, as I have done on my old PC running Windows XP.

I have a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro, x-64 on a new machine of self-building.  Everything else works, it is not the machine.  I installed all the latest drivers for my machine.  I have all the updates for Windows 7.  I run the Windows Firewall and Kaspersky Anti Virus 2010.  I installed Microsoft Office 2007, Outlook 2007, Visio 2010 and many other applications 'standard '.  I'm not under any program of low-level "weird."

As other people "suggested", already tried the action of the outgoing WMP, stop the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service using service.msc, then by removing the .wmdb (and other files but not directories) by my dirctory users/xxx/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Media Player, restart the Service of network share WMP using services.msc and then restarting WMP.  This had no effect.  (I tried several times with and without having to restart WMP network sharing service manually.)  I tried to change the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service, tab log (the default on my system) Network Service to Local System with "allow service to interact with desktop" chosen as someone another "suggested".  This does not seem to do anything.  I also tried to uninstall WMP and WMC player (using "turn Windows has or disable"), restart, then adding them and reboot.  This time this icon "turn media sharing on" returned in WMP (the icon is usually party WMP Stream/turn on media sharing window).  This time Windows 7 Pro thought a little longer before doing nothing.  (However, now I get a message error "an error has occurred. Not all features have been changed successfully. "in an attempt to"Reinstall"Windows Media Center after you have reinstalled WMP.)  The resettlement of WMC has returned an error.  I can no longer start Windows Media Center on my PC.

So, by all posts on this topic, its obvious this is a real bug in Windows 7 (maybe?), (perhaps only on x - 64?).

Just two more things on my setup... I did not initially set up homegroup (because I have no other Windows 7 machines), but I tried that implemented to see if it had an effect (it didn't).  The part only 'weird' of my installation, I mounted my D: drive (2nd hard drive) in C:\Users (because I use a Solid State Drive for the operating system on C: and don't want the user data on this subject).  This has not caused other problems, but I wanted to throw it out there in case Windows Media Player sharing is something weird here.  (And no, I'm not going to 'try to change' that, unless it is a known fact that that's the problem - and then I would need a different solution to move my user data off the coast of the SSD.)

So please, let me know what is the real problem why it happened to me (I'm sure some people can turn on streaming in WMP), and what is the real solution.  (There seems to be a multitude of suggestions on the web for all kinds of different 'fixed', but which, if any, is the right one?)  Please do not just suggest things to try.  What is the right benchmark?

Go to network and sharing center open view full map, right click on your PC and click on manage.

then open services and applications, and then serivces and find Upnp device host, right click and click on reboot and make sure that it is set to automatic.

Now scroll down to Windows Media Player Network Sharing service, do a right click and click on reboot and make sure that it is set to automatic also.

It should work, it worked for me and everyone I know but... The only problem I have is when I restart my PC, the drive share Windows Media network service changes from automatic to automatic (delayed start) and I have to restart again the Upnp device host and Windows Media Player network sharing service.

Other than having to do every time I restart my PC, it works perfectly.

Also, if anyone has an idea of why it changes (delayed start) let me know thanks...

  • Cannot depend on media streaming in Windows Media Player 7

I can't turn on Media Streaming on Windows Media Player on my Windows 7 Intel Pantium inside 4 GB, touch screen computer. I have two laptops and a computer. My first laptop works and it is on the good (I'm trying to connect my TV to the wireless computer) and it connects to the TV, but it does not work on my computer. When I go on Windows Media Player and click on the stream and more Options, and then turn on Media Streaming, nothing happens. It goes gray for a few seconds and nothing. What should I do? Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service is in automatic mode and active in service. I have not tried anything else because I'm afraid I'd mess up. Any ideas? I want to watch my videos on TV without connecting to the computer. How to turn on media streaming? I'm a girl so please explain and make it simple.

Oh yes and a more simple question, if I want to watch a movie on my TV from my computer, what should I do? Do I have to install the video in Windows Media Player? But how to install the video in Windows Media Player? AAAAAAAAAAAAGH.

    Hi Hanka,

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Try to disable and enable Media Player and check.

Step 1: Turn off Windows Media Player:
    a. go initially and in search type 'Turn Windows has or not'.

  • Unable to turn on media streaming in Windows 7 Professional

    I currently have Windows 7 Professional x 86 installed.

When I try to turn on media streaming continuously, the gray button and after a few seconds, the button is clickable again, but nothing has changed.

I searched the internet and read what to do a clean boot and the reactivation of services and startup one programs can help find the problem.  I tried, but my Avast Free Antivirus runs regardless of this, so I uninstalled the program and finally had a clean boot.  Unfortunately, this does solve the problem.  Are there other methods that can solve this problem?

    Hi Immahobo,

    Method 1

I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall Windows media player, and check if it works.

    (a) click the Start button, select Control Panel, click programsand then click Windows turn on or off features. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    (b) to deselect the checkbox next to the Windows media player , click OK.

    (c) restart the computer.

    (d) back to Windows to enable or disable features , and then select the check box next to the Windows media player , click OK.

    (e) restart the computer and check if it works.

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then I suggest that you restore the default settings for Windows Firewall and check if it works.

    Restore Windows Firewall settings

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/restore-Windows-Firewall-settings

    Method 3

If the previous step fails then I suggest that scan you SFC on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

The analysis may take some time, so be patient. Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information of the installation CD is required to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows Vista installation CD.

  • Can not turn on Media Streaming with Windows 7 Professional

When I followed the instructions to turn on media streaming in Windows 7, I immediately have a problem.  I have media player, click on the arrow down to data flow and choose 'enable media streaming... '. »

On the next screen, click on the button "Turn on media streaming" and it does nothing.  I don't know where to look on this logging information.  Nothing appears in the event viewer.

    Help, please.

I did a little more digging and found the issue.  With Windows 7, this path is:

    C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player

Remove all sand file *.wmdb it will work.

Need a solution added to the help for that.

  • IP Voice Media Streaming App does not start

I use CUCM 7.1.5 but it was also in 7.1.3.  I start all my other services except this one.  CUCM says he starts the service successfully, but it still says "Does not work."  It is the output of the service log file.  Inside it is said that he can not find the device driver.  Any thoughts on how to solve this problem?  Thank you.

    Hello

We intend to implement a VCS infrastructure now I'm not sure wich accepting media between endpoints.

On the photo, you could see the scenario.

Endpoint 1 is communicate with the endpoint 2.

1 medium Wich takes the media stream?

2 what endpoint 1 communicate (media) with VCS - C and not directly with the two end point?

    2. must a direct connection between two end points?

    Thank you

    Hi Martin,

the media could pass control of VCS and highway always in a solution of course and course usage license.

endpoint 1 must send to the control of VCS, and then it will be passed to the fast lane and then on internet and internet endpoint not directly.

  • Improve Windows Media Streaming for readers dlna - navigation tree

    Hello

I use my dlna compatible tv to media access on my Windows 7 pc via media sharing and it works fine, but the navigation tree and the sorts applied to the media are annoying and I want to change them.

Windows seems to provide no noticeable way to customize the navigation tree / provided to client devices dlna when you browse the library - the list so is there a way I can get and change it, similar to how I can do so by editing the xml files in twonky media server?

    Thank you

    -Steve

Thank you, but rather referring to him as a gap in the DLNA implementation on the client machines, you should refer to him exactly as a gap in Windows Media Streaming. DLNA client display the data as it was sent to them; they have little intelligence, and when you have a true media library you will not want to go to your computer every time you want to send a song or video to your TV or amplifier.

  • Flash Media Streaming Server and audioSampleAccess

    Hello world!
Before all sorry for my English. I am trying to program a direct mp3 player in AS3 for a radio streaming via Flash Media Streaming Server, can I use the function of soundMixer.computeSpectrum () and (after diving along a lot of forums) I realized I need to uncomment the line p_client.audioSampleAccess () in applicattion main.asc in direct folder. The problem is that we have a license of Flash Media Streaming Server, not a license of Flash Media Server, so we can only use signed Adobe applications.

I also tried to put the AudioSampleAccess tag in the file Application.xml under this < AudioSampleAccess enabled = "true" > / < / AudioSampleAccess > but still does not work. Is it possible to do this with FMS, or do we need a FMS license? Thanks in advance for your answers

Microsoft LIFECAM-VX 5500 Help! Since the update "-Audio and Microsoft, Communication device, Streaming Media Broadcast - Microsoft LifeCam VX-5500" it has not worked. The program does not open and when I try it says "stopped working". Also, when in MSN Messenger it freezes it and nobody can see me nor can I see myself. What can I do to fix this? I know it's the update because it worked perfectly before, and I read of others having this problem. Help!
