Windos Vista - Thumbs.bd. issue.

In a Windows Vista operating system, what are the thumbs.db files, how they are born? How can I view the contents of these files? I can see the contents of these files if the original image/file is not in the computer?  Thank you.

It is possible that files thumbs.db in question have been included
in a group of photos that you imported from a XP machine. And the
photos have since been removed from Vista, but the .db files remain.

Perhaps the following links would offer a few ideas:

    Hello.

    1. you can use the recovery disks you did to reinstall Vista. It's what they are for.

    To reinstall Vista using recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

    You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

    How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

    2 as you do a new installation the hard disk will be wiped clean of the everyting: files, MSE, everything.

    Therefore, there is not need to disable the MSE.

    3. the recovery disks must select the disc / Partition and install Vista updates.

    If not. Select the c: / partition.

    Hello

    1. You have the latest service pack installed for Windows Vista?

    Method 1:

    The issue could be related to corrupt check Windows Socket the link provided below to troubleshoot issues with the nerve to Windows in Windows Vista.

    How to determine and to recover from Winsock2 corruption in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP and Windows Vista

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/811259

    Method 2:

    First, disable all other connections to try to force the wireless connection to request the information needed in the router.

    (a) click Start

    (b) Control Panel

    (c) network and sharing Center

    (d) managing network connections.

    (e) click every link that is EXCEPT the wireless LAN connection, and then click on disable this network device.

    (f) then see if your wire will connect.

    (g) you should probably run the diagnostic and repair utility on the Network and Sharing Center menu to force the wireless card to request information from the router IP.

    Method 2:

    If all else fails, go back into the network and sharing Center, manage network connections and right click on the wireless network connection and select Properties.

    Then click Internet version 4 Protocol and select Properties.

    Click in the box that says "Use following IP address" and enter the information that has been shown in IPCONFIG report for your connection to the Wired Local network above.

    Do the same for "use the following DNS servers."

    Make sure that you type the IP address, mask subnet, default gateway, and DNS addresses exactly the same than the connection to the Local network was when he got the information from the router.

  • FlexBuilder 3 constantly crashing (VISTA) and other issues

    I encounter some problems with the FlexBuilder 3 Beta:
    1. FDI almost always blocks (leaving behind a Java Runtime Error dialog box) after stopping a debugging session.
    2. If the IDE do not crushed after a debugging session, you cannot debug again. You get an error indicating that the debugger is still working. When it is not. I find that I "end task" (using Task Manager) a task called ieuser.exe I am able to start debugging again.

    These two issues make it practically impossible to play with FlexBuilder 3.

    Anyone having any questions?

    I understood earlier finally workaround for the occasional problem when using Flex Builder on Vista, where Flex Builder tells you that another debugger is already running.

    The solution is to add this line to flexbuilder.ini or eclipse.ini (the name of the ini file depends on if you have installed stand-alone Flex Builder or Eclipse of Flex Builder plugin version):

    -Djava .net .preferIPv4Stack = true

    That's all. I suspect a bug in Vista - the first time that you are debugging, I see clearly that Flex Builder is the closure of the socket, but when I run TCPView, it shows that the IPv6 version of the socket is always open, and that causes the problem. The addition of the definition of the above property causes Java to use only IPv4.

  • Vista - Service Pack issues

    I just did a fresh reinstall of Vista Home Premium.I have taken quite a few updates, but I wondered about the SP1. This will give with the updater as well because I'm looking to install SP2 later. Thank you.

    Please see this article to understand why SP1 is not available: Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 service Pack is not available for installation via Windows Update

    If you choose to manually download the standalone full Service Packs, all the prerequisites for installation are contained in the complete stand-alone package. The only exceptions are the hardware and software listed in the article that were deemed incompatible with the Service Packs for Windows Vista. They are listed under ' hardware and software which if present will result in Windows Update does not offer a service pack.

    IF none of the hardware/software on the list is present on your system, then suggest you to manually download required Service Packs from the Microsoft Download Center, Saveand then install them after the first system boot configuration.

  • Windos Vista update mobile home premium STUCK IN THE LOOP!

    Hi, specialist qualified Windows Vista technology, but at a loss with my own laptop! Recently, I updated and now I'm stuck in an endless loop. It starts, going past logo then update 3 3 0% complete. Stops then it all over again & again & again. You get the picture. Very fustrating. Wondering if there is a known error as happened after updating with the new Explorer not working either...

    Any help appreciated

    Do a system restore and change the update settings:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    Also:

    Once in safe mode, to remove the updates you can do this:

    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    If the above does not work, try to make a Bootable ERD to do a Startup Repair:

    As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

    As your falls into the above category: download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

    It's a very good Vista repair disc.

    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

    There is not a disk of resettlement.

    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

  • Update Vista creates priority issues

    My machine recently hired a number of new updates to Vista.  Since then, I've been in a very bad way.  Starting the machine normally, I am unable to connect to the internet.  I am also unable to diagnose the problem because it tells me that I must go to the Service Control Manager and to start the diagnostic policy Service.  Click that does nothing, it won't.  Through Panel on administration Services tools, he won't.  I tried Windows Update, and it does not start.  I access Internet and most of these other tools, such as now - through Safe Mode network, but have not been able to identify the root cause.  Nothing has changed on my conifguration.  Any way to regularize the patches?  Any ideas how to crack this?

    Two ways to do it.

    1. a System Restore to before the updates:

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

    If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

  • software problem with windos vista home basic microsoft disk defragmentation.

    Disk Defragmenter does not work on the calendar. Planning of the disk defragmentation is enabled, but does not as expected. I manually defragment. How can I fix?

    Hello

    The Vista defrag works quietly in the background without intervention on your part

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/942092

    In Windows Vista, there are a lot of improvements in the defrag engine and handling of fragmentation. By default, Windows Vista uses Task Scheduler to automatically keep the defragmented hard drive. This Automatic defragmentation does not affect the performance of the Windows Vista operating system...

    If you want to use a much better defragmentation program which is free and where you can see the results, I suggest this one:

  • Windows Vista activation key issues

    I have a Toshiba laptop, has problems with the firewall and had to take it to get fixed and when I got back with him all my stuff on Microsoft Word is "locked." I can't access any of my stuff out there, it's wanting to enter me an activation code to activate it. My laptop came with Windows Vista already installed and when I received the product key on the back of my computer to activate it again once it says it is incorrect.

    Is there anything else I should do? The only disc that came with the computer is one that installs everything here from scratch, I need to use?

    Thank you

    If you mean that you can not turn on, try to do it manually:

    To activate manually, go to start, search, and type in slui 4 enter.  Enter your country and press Next.  You will be on a screen with a phone number and a bunch of codes below.  Dial the number and browse automatic guests until you get to a human being.  Have your handy product code because it will be asked.  Explain the situation, but it's the same PC and only installed on this PC.  They should give you a code to enter on this screen to activate Vista.

    To solve the real problem (if even the activation group will not help because of this), repost the genuine advantage Forum at:http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/threads.

    I posted several messages on this forum, and each of them has solved the problem which was in front of me, when you set up a home network of 3 computers... Just when I think I'm on the right track, upward appears another problem... Here is where I am and the problem that I am facing... A COMPUTER uses XP with Norton, COMPUTER B using XP with McAfee and COMPUTER C VISTA with McAfee... I think that I have all computers talking to each other with no password required however, C of the computer can read data / files on A and b... A and B completely all share with each other, BUT computer C can only read the files on A and B but not to share any of its files with them.  I tried to use the sharing C (Vista), but nothing appears on the other...  Something in ut (Vista) does not prevent its files to be shared opr something C McAfee program prevents file sharing... BUT WHAT?  I even bought some books, but they were no help...  Any ideas?  Thanks for all your help in the past...
