Window mail - accidentally deleted file

Hello

I accidentally deleted a file in my Windows Mail that I discovered appeared in my trash.  I can't find a way to restore the items in Windows Mail.  I am currently using Windows Vista and IE 9

Help, please.  I can't really afford to lose these emails!

Kind regards

Caroline clumsy!

  • Windows Mail reset / delete the contents of the folder when you restart

After more than a year of use of Windows Mail - all my messages and account information is missing.  I have rebuilt them, only to see them disappear after restarting my computer.

Contacts and mail rules are still there, but my files and mail is gone.  Show rules with a red X because the destination folder is gone.

It seems that the content of the: Mail C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows

are deleted and rebuilt at some point during the restart process.  I tried to change the location of storage in Windows mail, but that setting gets also brought back on reboot.

I don't know if this is normal, but the folder where messages are supposed to be appear in blue.

Thanks a lot for all ideas.

Search for antivirus interference.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

You can also consider trying to create a different user account and see if Winmail works very well under that user.

    Thank you Sandra,.

These steps have not solved the problem.

On other experiences - it looks like all the content of the

    C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Local\Microsoft

are getting deleted on reboot - that includes information from Windows Mail.  If I change the storage location of e-mail to something outside this directory, it records everything.  But is not really solve my problem because I think there are other things stored in this folder that should stay around.

    Any ideas on this issue?

    Thank you

  • Windows Mail is deleting all messages from my Inbox

Earlier today, my Windows Mail used to have over 1000 emails in my Inbox. Tonight, I noticed that almost all of the emails in my Inbox were deleted.  If I navigate to another e-mail folder and return to the Inbox of messages more get erased.  The missing e-mails are not appearing in the file delete either.

What caused my e-mails from 1000 to clear all of a sudden?  How can I recover my 1000 mails and how this fixed a bug?

    Thank you.

    Try this:

Go to your Inbox > view > current view > check show all Messages.

    See if it works.

  • Window mail is delete each Email I read

When I read an email in Windows Mail, it removes my emails without putting them in the deleted file.  If I just open a message and do not delete it because I want to open later, he removes the message completely.  Please help - it drives me crazy because I lost the documents that I really need.

Windows Mail in Vista and has nothing to do with this Internet Explorer discussion group. Fix?

In the Menu Windows Mail bar: reviews | Current view. Ensure that: show all Messages is the only thing verified. Hide read messages isn't what you want.

  • How do I import saved in Windows Mail Outlook pst file?

I saved my Outlook e-mail in a PST on a hard drive external.  Now I want to restore that saved email on another computer that uses windows mail.  I tried to use the "import" feature, but it does not give me a PST in option.

    Hello

Windows Mail is unable to import a .pst file if Outlook is installed on the Vista computer. You can install Outlook, copy the PST on the Vista computer, open the .pst with Outlook, then you can import into Windows Mail.

Here are a few links that tells you how you can import a .pst in Windows Mail.

  • Cannot import Windows Mail 6.0 files after reformatting the hard drive

Desktop HP of my wife had to be reformatted.  It is under Vista Home Premium.  Email is vesion Windows Mail 6.0.  I exported all the personal files in Windows Mail she wanted, through the export feature.  They are stored on a DVD right now.  The problem is that once I have reformatted the hard disk to the original factory conditions, I can't import files or messages.  The import in the Wizzard options is for Windows Mail (with outlook and Express) 7.  When I choose 7 Mail I get the following error message: "no messages are located in this folder or another application is running that has the required files open.  If I navigate to the actual stored email files on the backup DVD I can open individual emails so that they were saved.  What can I do?

It is a bit of extra work, but it will do the job.

    • Copy the files from the DVD to the desktop.
    • Open WinMail and create the folders that you need to match those on the desktop.
    • Open a folder on the desktop and you should see all of the messages as .eml files.
    • Select all, then right click on them. Drag the corresponding folder of WinMail and copy here.

That worked? You can remove the files from office once facts.
