When I turned my phone back and connected, I could do the same for an update of the framework.

  So far, those who have been the only two updates to cross, and I could not download or install the rest. An additional problem is that my Windows Update always displays a prompt stating "Windows 10 upgrade booked" despite the deadline passing on the free update. When I see the confirmation, I get a popup Windows 10 stating that the offer has ended. I don't know if this is related to why Windows Update does not work, but I saw more guests for 10 Windows on my main computer once the delay.

  Other things I've tried are to update manually the time at the time of Microsoft servers and try to download and install the updates one at a time, but neither contributed to the situation. In addition, Microsoft Security Essentials apparently downloaded and installed the latest definition files on its own, so it would seem that the problem is only related to Windows Update.

  I've attached screenshots of my Windows Update history and update. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. What is the error message accurate/complete that you receive when you try to start Windows 8?
  2. Are you able to boot to Windows 8.1 without any problem?

  This problem can occur because of bad sectors on the hard disk. I suggest you run the disk check and check if you can start Windows 8.

  1. Press the Windows key + X, click on (Admin) command prompt.
  2. At the command prompt, type chkdsk /f and then press ENTER.
  3. Now, type chkdsk/r to repair.

  To run the check disk on C drive, try the following steps:

  1. Press the Windows key + E to open Windows Explorer.
  2. Click the drive you want to check (C :).
  3. Click Properties andcclick on the Tools tab.
  4. Click the control button user error checking.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

When I double click on the download button, it says that my browser is not supported.   Thanks David... it seems that my problem might with Windows8 not having the ability to update itself... after I finally solved the problems of Windows8 update... then I was able to access and download the standard Adobe XI... I was using IE 10... and tried to download it from "my account history".

  I just bought a new computer and activated windows 7 on it, but when I tried to update with windows update (updated 31) nothing happends. I get no error message it just says: "download updates...". "forever.

  All the recommended settings on windows update and the windows firewall is enabled, and my connection is working and its 10 Mbps down.

My laptop acts like it doesn't even have wireless capabilities although the exact model the same sitting next to her was a strong wireless signal (I still had internet capability on this laptop also).   There is a driver recommended relatively complete for the Deskjet 6540 written by HP and Microsoft via Windows Update.  If the automatic install does not work, perform the following steps: connect the printer by USB.  Click Start, devices and printers, adding a printer, select the appropriate port and when the list of printers, click Windows Update in the lower right part of the dialog box.  It will take a few minutes for the update to complete, once that he choose the Deskjet HP (Hewlett-Packard no) 6500 Series.

  If for some reason you can't use the driver provided through Windows Update, you can download the driver from the Windows Catalog site.  The Windows Catalog site requires the use of Internet Explorer.  For the Dsekjet 6500 Series there are three drivers listed.  11.4 Mo is the x 86 32-bit driver.  11.6 Mb file is x 64 64 bit version.  13.9 MB file is the least common architecture IA64.
