Windows 7 Activation by phone, DVD original no with the purchased product key
One of my friend system files has been corrupted in some way on a Toshiba laptop, so I saved her documents and formatted the drive.
His laptop provided with Windows 7 (Home Premium x 64), but have never created or received a DVD of recovery/Windows.
I looked for General tech support forums and provided a link to a few versions of Windows 7 I could burn on my own DVD. I would then just use the product key at the bottom of his laptop.
The key has been accepted to the installation and the system worked well until the reboot. He then pushes back the product key, because the one he used was "invalid".
I am worried about the version of Windows 7, I downloaded the wrong version has been and that the product key has been to the pre - SP1 version (the laptop was purchased 2-3 years ago).
I set the option to activate automated telephone service and went through the process of large code entry.
He said to succeed, and Windows stopped to ask my friend on an invalid product key.
My concern is whether or not the correct product key has been sent to Microsoft, given that the telephone automated activation service no the opportunity to enter the product key at the bottom of his laptop computer.
I was wondering if this configuration is fine, and that Microsoft is indeed recognized its product key to his laptop, because I don't want to be marked as hacked because I used a copy of the software Windows 7 itself, despite the use of a unique product key.
Thanks for your help,
Andy

HP desktop with 32-bit windows 7, can legally move to 64-bit with the same product key?
Hi support them.
My scenario here is I have a few systems of HP Office under windows7 32-bit edition (version of windows by default), and now I need to upgrade to 64-bit windows 7 without getting a 64-bit win7 additional license, am I allowed to use the same product key on my 32-bit version to upgrade to 64-bit?
Hello
Since this is a check of the product key OEM with HP Support for the media. You already have windows
Thus, it will be cheap. You can check that your system is running 64-bit at the same time.HP support/troubleshooting & drivers

Can't download Windows 7 Pro 64 bit Disc Images (ISO files) with the license product key
A few months ago, I bought a laptop with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit pre-installed, used with supplied installation disc. There is a hologram sticker COA affixed to the laptop with a product key. I used this key to activate the phone without problem. I was then able to install SP1 and various other updates over time.
Recently, I decided that I should have a Windows installation disc (Windows Update has slowed to a crawl and doesn't, and I maybe to repair or reinstall it with the disk).
I have entered my product key on Microsoft Web page to 'Download the Windows 7 disc Images (ISO files)'. But I got an error message:
"The product key you have entered seems to be for software pre-installed by the manufacturer of the device. Contact the manufacturer of the software device for recovery options. »
Running 'Winver' shows that my product is authorized.
Running "slmgr.vbs - dli" shows the partial product key and license status "allowed."

How can I download an installation image for the s/w Windows 7 that I activated?
Thanks for your help.
For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.
It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.
Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:
How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?
Make sure you scroll down and read the section:
What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

Can I install windows xp pro on several computers then with the same product key?
I am the owner of a home-based business and I need to know if I have to buy several copies of a Windows xp pro, or can I use the same product key for all my computers.
It works this way:
A single license is a single Installation.
You can still buy XP from: online on newegg, amazon, etc. or try your local computer repair shop.

Activation of Windows 7 on an SSD with the same product key.
Original title: forget to disable Windows 7 key before moving.
Hello, here is my situation (I've seen another thread like this but I have more specific questions)
I have a laptop and it was the key to license Windows 7 Pro SP1.
I recently bought an ssd and learn all about meet the key but I guess I was happy to install the SSD so I forgot to Deauthorize the key.
I installed the SSD on the same computer laptop and use the same key to activate a few moments ago.
It seemed to have worked, but he's coming back to haunt me in the future? Or I'm good?
You could say that I activating me the part on the same physical machine and therefore, exercise was not necessary?
Thank you
As long as the old hard drive is removed from the laptop, you should have no problem.
If you want to go a little further temporarily remove it the SSD drive, connect the hard disk, the boot of Windows (does not need to be connected to the Internet) and open a prompt (run as administrator) and quick entry:
slmgr - upk and press the Enter key
Wait a few seconds for the command to run, and then quit the command prompt. The option - PUK uninstalls your product key from the hard drive.
Shut down the computer, remove the hard drive, install the SSD drive and your all ready for departure.

Try to reinstall windows 7 on another computer with the old product key
My computer has 7 starter and windows 7 upgrade system intalled. It crashed and no longer works. I talk to technicians of Microsoft and they say its ok and will work - transferring the operating system windows 7 on my laptop current used. Well no dice, after my product key for them, Microsoft gave me the run around. Last night when I spoke with them, they said that a discount price was available because I made the original purchase for her. Is happening here? Should I buy windows 7 again?
I guess you try to use the upgrade license.
However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.
15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.
So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.
Always try the following:
How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)
1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
(2) press the ENTER"" key.
(3) select your "country" in the list.
(4) choose the option "activate phone".
(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

How to reinstall Windows 8 with the upgrade product key
I bought a Windows 7 laptop and then bought the upgrade of Windows 8. on the online store of Windows. The hard drive of the laptop has been altered somehow and both the partition of Windows 8 and Windows 7 recovery partition no longer works.
When I try to create a USB Windows 8 key install it does not accept the product key that I paid for. I can't reinstall Windows 7, so how can I reinstall Windows 8 on the laptop.
Hello
Try saving it in a an ISO Image... You can then put it on a flash or DVD later...
Make sure that you try to download Win 8 and not earn 8.1...
You will always have problems well... even if you manage to get the picture, it will take an existing operating system on the machine.
You may have to buy Win 7 media the manufacturer of machines, if they are still available...
The price is usually quite reasonable, less with most manufacturers charge about US $20

I have a laptop with an earlier version of Windows OS on it and I have the product key for this (it's the Microsoft label on the bottom of the laptop), the hard drive failed and I can't access the data on the disk, including the recovery partition, which I had not done a cope of , and I want to kow if I buy version upgrade of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 - bit you and install it on a blank hard drive recently replaced, also does with the media?
In order to qualify and install a version upgrade of Windows 7 on a blank hard drive, you must have a qualification already installed Windows XP or Vista operating system. Otherwise, you can buy an edition of Windows 7 "full version".

Windows 7-64 bit/has been hacked - now have the correct product key!
Can't clean install or recovery without entering key - where I have to enter? Pls help!
THX in advance!
Windows 7 came preinstalled on your computer or you buy separately and install it yourself?
New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands
For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Samsung: Press the F4 key to the Samsung logo when you turn first.
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
-------------------------------
If you bought it separately, did you upgrade from a previous version of Windows?
However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.
15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.
