Windows 7 - Audit Mode
Hello world
I work on my first image of maintenance, and had answered a question that I have not seen anywhere.
When I build in image for WDS deployment, I always build the image in audit mode and configure everything that he, as the built-in Administrator account. In the end, I have Sysprep / generalize and capture him.
What is the same thing I should do, or what I need to be logged in to a user account, in normal mode?
The main reason why I ask, is that I could never command "copyprofile" of Sysprep to work without being in Audit Mode, and we do quite a few customizations of profile.
Thank you
-Ricky Wallace
Hi Ricky.
If you create an image of maintenance for ImageAssist, you need not to use audit mode. The Sysprep image for you tool and it spread before it captures. During the process, she also will give you the option in the creator of unattended installation "copy the profile. Audit mode is not necessary for copy profile to work, but you want to use the local administrator account to make sure that profile copy works.

Having problems with maintaining device drivers loaded on Windows 7 audit mode
Trouble in paradise. I'm working on new images of Windows 7 and we're having problems that new pilots appear after the computer has been deployed. I extend to the computer in audit mode and either use an answer file to add drivers or add them manually using pnputil. I add drivers for 5 different Dell Optiplex computers. When you use the answer file the computer back mode audit on this computer, and drivers have been installed. After checking the Device Manager, everything is in place. I also checked the Driverstore folder to make sure they have been installed, they. But when I finished the process sysprep, the image on your computer and place it on another computer, it does not see the new drivers. I still have to add them manually. I did it on five computers with the same result so I know that the pilots were initially loaded correctly. For some reason any after sysprep, it seems to lose track of the path to the drivers when the computer starts in windows setup mode. Once installation is complete, the same missing drivers in Device Manager are still missing. Even if they were there to audit mode. If I send the device missing in Device Manager the driverstore in research, he finds the driver without problem. Here's what I use for sysprep:
C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\sysprep /audit /reboot /unattend:C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\imagetest.xml
And then run the oobe and generalize the windows sysprep interface options to stop out of audit mode
I hope that I do just something wrong, it's simple.

Windows cannot complete the installation during the passage in audit mode
Hi all
I was recently trying build a Windows 7 image for use in a high school lab.
scenario until now:1.) configure WDS
2.) use DISM to add any drivers necessary for the boot.wim and install.wim file
3.) copied the files to the WDS server
4.) installed Windows 7 x 64 enterprise on computer in the lab.
(5.) to the menu screen post install (where it asks you to enter a user/computer name), I pressed Ctrl + shift + f3 to put the computer in audit mode to start putting in place a default profile.
6.) after the reboot, I get the following message:
"Windows could not complete the installation. "To install windows on this computer, restart the installation. After reading several posts I changed the SATA mode in the bios in legacy/IDE and tried installing again with the same result.
I tried to install with a new download windows 7 directly from the DVD without integrated drivers, with the same results.
I used DBAN to completely erase the hard drive and then tried installing twice with the same result.
I tried to install it on another computer in the lab and still not received the same message.
Thank you

need to run windows in safe mode with network to have browserws working properly. using IE and Firefox. Web site fisting comes in following correctly sites just waiting for the website tab help
If it works in Windows safe mode, then you have a problem with other software, maybe a security software or a system driver that runs on your computer.
It is possible that your security (firewall, antivirus) software blocks or limit Firefox or the process of plugin-container without you inform, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.
Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

Hello
Looks like your hard drive is defective or has failed.
Use the following steps to confirm that.
Hard drive:
Go to the website of your computer manufacturer > find specifications of hardware in your computer (hard drive) > access the Web Hard Drive from the manufacturer site > download their diagnostic software > make a Bootable disc > test your hard drive.

I tried to install iTunes, but he said that "the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode or if Windows Installer is not installed properly. Call support personnel. "They gave me similar messages by other programs I've tried to install as well.
Because I was not running Windows in safe mode in time, I assumed that the installer was not installed correctly. So I tried to download from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en
But then I got error messages like "this update does not apply to your system" and "not enough memory is available to process this command." I tried all the links and none of them worked for me. I'm running a Vista Home Premium 64 bit, and I 2.38 GB of available RAM, so I don't think that the lack of memory is the problem here. What should I do?
1.] I had a previous version of iTunes, but I got rid of it with Revo Uninstaller.
I was looking around and I found this: http://www.vistax64.com/vista-installation-setup/96680-repair-windows-installer-service-vista-all-versions-2.html
I followed the direction of the last message (by F'n Vista) and changed the value of WOW64 Registry and now iTunes has installed perfectly and works now. I'll try to install other programs that I got hurt with previously. Thank you very much for your help! :)

Hi Mkress,
Welcome!
You can get this error if Windows Error Reporting Service does not start, try to restart the service on the computer and check if the problem persists or not, follow the steps below to start the service:
1. click on start.
2 type Services in the start search.
3. look for Windows Error Reporting Service in the list.
4. right click on the Service.
5. click on properties.
6. set the Startup Type to automatic.
7 set the starting state.
8. click on apply.
9. click on OK.
Now restart the computer for the changes to the effect.
I would say that you do the check disk on the computer to find the bad sectors and disk related errors on the computer, follow these steps:
1. the procedure for chkdsk to run:
i. Click Start
II. type cmd in the start search box.
III. right-click on cmd.exe list programs and then select the run as Administrator option.
IV. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
v. in the command prompt window, type the following command and press enter Chkdsk/r
Note: When you restart, Windows checks the drive for errors, and then Windows starts. Now, run the disk check in the command prompt.
