  After an update of Windows by the end of June, my computer started acting weird.   What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

  I just had my McAfee security expires and since I was not able to install security updates.

  I uninstalled McAfee and searched my system to make sure that it is completely gone, then I installed Microsoft Security Essentials.

  I was able to update its definitions of once and since I was not able to do so once again - instead, I get the error message "Virus and Spyware definitions update failed" and the code of error 0x80072efe

  I have since run a full scan of the system and the following were found on my system:

  -Trojan notifier

  -Trojan Downloader

  -Virus: Win32/Alureon.H

  It is said that they have been removed - I'm not sure if they have something to do with my problems of system...

  Also my windows update still does not go to download security updates, and it still gives me the same error code.
