Windows 7 Compatibility Center

Andrew Sykes asked about

I won't be here but Microsoft seems very happy sending me on the prosecution of the wild goose, and here I landed! I didn't even know that Microsoft had a band, probably not my music a little... In any case, it is the second shortcut of Microsoft which is supposed to take me to the "Windows 7 Compatibility Center. The first, in the Windows help sent me to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/support#1TC=windows-7. Not a mention of the word "compatibility" on the page anywhere. Then, enter 'compatibility' in the search for support and here is the result, looks promising. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/search/result.aspx?q=compatibility. But no, I click on the first result that says Microsoft compatibility Center. Even what seems to be the correct web address, microsoft.com /compatibility and it takes me here http://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-band/en-us/support/hardware/microsoft-band-system-requirements. I give up!

I know the feeling.

Microsoft are terrible to change sites around and moving links, it seems to happen a lot.

Maybe the W7 Compatibility Center has closed now? but this link seems to give some hope - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/help/compatibility#T1=softwarecompat to what you click on the 'Windows 7 ' compatibility Center link, which of course is not going to go.

As I say, maybe his cock now. I hope that someone will know the answer for you, because I thought that it was useful to have around. (I know they have closed the Vista one )

    Hi André,.

    Please keep us updated.

Unfortunately, the center of compatibility Windows has actually retired. To find out if any program that works with Windows 10 or not, you can check with the developer to program on the compatibility of its operating system. In addition, when you migrate to Windows 10 from a previous version of Windows, you are informed about programs that may not work with Windows 10. However, you can try to install these programs in compatibility mode and check.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

The ONLY way (even with the Compatibility Center) to make sure a video card is actually compatible and supported by its manufacturer is to check with the video card manufacturer themselves.

How can I get the media center on windows xp

In addition to the above answer, if your system meets the requirements you could install Windows 7. Has built the media center. It is really a lot like Xp in my opinion. You can run the Windows 7 compatibility tool to see if your computer is capable of handling. Although the requirements of the system call of 1 GB of ram, I know that several cases where the user has only 512 MB and the system went very well.

Follow the steps below only once you have backed up the registry.

    a. Click Start, in the search box of start, type regedit and press ENTER.

    b. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    d. in the registry editor, navigate to the following location: HKEYCURRENTUSER > SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > WINDOWS CE SERVICES > PARTNERS

  • Windows XP Media Center 2005 cannot connect to the Internet

    Dear all,

I'm having a problem with Windows XP Media Center 2005. The problem is that when I connect the cable from the modem to the laptop, I only send packets without receiving. The IP address I get is also 169.254.207.207, which is not a valid IP address to connect to the internet, and so I guess that something is blocking the laptop to get the IP address. Another thing I noticed is that when I turned off the modem and restart it, I have connectivity maybe 5 seconds and then return to no connectivity.

You guys can tell me what is the problem, and if I have to download something but in addition to the internet so that I can get my laptop to work. That said, I can connect to wireless with no problems.

Thanks for your help and your time

    Hello

Sorry for the question but what modem did you mean?
A simple analog modem or DSL (broadband) modem that supports support a LAN connection.
If you mean the second then I would check the TCP/IP settings in the properties of LAN card. The settings should be set to automatic

You should also check that you firewall settings.

Manual installation of Windows Xp Media Center Edition laptop Toshiba Qosmio F30 computer 2005
    Last updated October 3, 2006

    Important notes before starting:

1 - the steps used for "Toshiba Qosmio F30" and for others models Qosmio that comes with "Intel Centrino Duo" Cpu and Xp Media Center 2005 installed.

    2. apply these steps if you have previous experience in the installation of Windows Xp, if you have that experience, then you can use the provided recovery CD to restore your system.

3 - Windows Xp Media Center Cd is not provided with your laptop, if you have the Cd you can purchase from many online shops and in this case you will get the product key valid Windows Xp which you'll not need (because you already have one, you will find in it a small sticker on the back of your laptop and you can activate your Windows with it).
In other words (you need for the first and the second Cd of Windows Xp Mce 2005 SP2 Oem).

    4. do not try to implement these measures on the other Versions of Windows Xp, use "Windows Xp Media Center Edition 2005 Sp2 Oem" only

    5. you must have the Usb floppy drive to install "Toshiba Raid Controller", it can be installed that by having the driver on a floppy disk and pressing F6 during the setup of Windows Xp, if you do not install the Raid driver then will Windows Xp does not recognize your hard drive.

    6 - notice of disclaimer

To install your recovery Cd Power on your laptop and the "F12" hold and use the arrow keys to select the icon of the CD to boot from the Cd.

    2. create the Toshiba Raid since the driver Cd driver, the Toshiba Raid driver must be added during the Installation of Windows XP when they are asked to "Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or Raid Driver".
To do this, insert the Cd of ' Windows' drivers, it will run automatically or Run "Browser.Exe" inside the Cd The 'Raid Driver' and click on Select 'Installation', it will show you the Raid driver files, insert A Blank Floppy and copy the files in The Floppy 'To be sure that all the files be on the root of The Floppy' or to download the Toshiba RAID driver from the Toshiba web page download driver and extract the file zip on a diskette. Yet once, all files must be at the root of the floppy disk not in a folder"

3 - Connect your Usb floppy drive and insert your Cd of Windows Xp Mce 2005 1 turn on your laptop Hold "F12" and use the arrow keys to select the icon of the CD to boot from the Cd.

  • Problem connecting Bluetooth with Windows Mobile Device Center

    Hello

I have and HTC Snap with WM 6.1 I want to connect to my Satellite P500 running Windows 7 to be able to move the files by using Windows Mobile Device Center.

I know that this device can talk to this laptop via bluetooth, because there are some utilities bluetooth Toshiba that I can use to get a connection.

However, even if the Toshiba utility recognizes my bluetooth device, but WMDC is not. WMDC recognises my device when it is connected with a USB cable.

I don't know about the drvupdate-amd64 download which I think is necessary with WMDC but when I run what it looks like all it does is try to install a device driver for a device that is 'unknown '. I get a message at the end that driver could not be installed.

I have run out of ideas on how to get these things to work. Someone at - it a similar experience?

Could this be a problem of COM port? My Bluetooth device to 40 com affected Toshiba stack I don't see a COM 40 in the WMDC, just a port identified as "Bluetooth" settings
