Windows 7, does not not after the start up programs.

I have a new Dell computer with windows 7 Home Edition. I have recurring with programs or internet problems does not not after starting upwards. After a time, I use Ctrl/Alt/Del, but the problem persists for a long time before he answers. Sometimes, I have to manually shut down the computer. After the second start, computer generally works well.
I like how Windows 7 works but found this very frustrating problem. Never had a complaint with Windows XP.
Help, please
Marty

David,
A friend in the it Department at work suggested by disabling the anti-virus at startup and see what would happen.
I turned the computer and turn off a dozen times today and each time that my programs run perfect.
I really like this software but if its causing programs become unresponsive at startup, this is not acceptable.  I'm going to contact the antivirus Co. to see if they will help or have a solution. I.T. said it could be something very simple for them to fix.

  • After you install a second WD 1 TB my book drive, Windows Explorer does not see the new drive.

    Original title: Signature Collision?

I'm having hard to the installation of a second external drive. I use Windows 7 Ultimate RC. There was a WD 1 TB drive My Book already installed - healthy and works very well. The problem occurred after installing a second WD 1 TB my book reader. I followed all the instructions, pluuging the drive to a USB hub. Windows found the disk, installed drivers and reported the new drive ready for use.

Windows Explorer does not see the new drive. Devices and printers shows 2 external drives from WD. Disk Management shows as 2 drives, but the second disk is offline because of a 'Signature' Collision

Each player works very well if it's the only drive plugged in. "Eject My Book" does not work because a program (or more) are to use the player in the background (Windows or Norton).

I installed the latest firmware and I'm still having this problem. I've been emailing WD with this problem and they are running out of ideas.

    Can anyone help?
    Thank you

    Hello Comatose13,

There is an old article of KB in Windows XP that has been recently updated with additional measures to solve this kind of problem. The KB covers Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 with step by step methods. See if that helps.

  • Windows XP does not install the automatic updates.

    Original title: kopieerfout

After several years, my laptop with Windows XP does not install the automatic updates, giving only a mistake:

    "

ER is een doing opgetreden bij het van het bestand ntoskrnl.exe copying

Kan het bestand niet naar doelmap copying.

    Everything works OK.

    Thanks for your help

    Everything works OK.

It seems that it is not... Why Dutch? You use or have the corresponding language version installed?

    Free translation of message:

"An error occurred during the copy of the file ntoskrnl.exe
Cannot copy file to destination... »

Please note that ntoskrnl.exe is a process in the cycle of the initial startup on your computer program.

Try to load your "last known good configuration".

The issue is also known to be caused by a short circuit in the ground cable into the keyboard cable. Make sure that it is not the cause of your error by replacing the keyboard with another keyboard or just disconnect the keyboard from the computer. You can also look at your function "Add or remove programs" If KB2686509 <> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2686509 > is installed.  Install manually if it is not.

If the above doesn't help, try using the Sfc.exe tool - see here > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747

Or run the Chkdsk tool - see here > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265

If still no luck, you may need to restore the file ntoskrnl. exe as follows:

1 - insert the Microsoft Windows XP CD. Note: If you have a recovery CD or a restore CD and not a Microsoft Windows XP CD is probably the procedure below does not solve your problem.

2 - restart the computer and that the computer starts, you should see a message press any key to boot from the CD. When you see this message press any key.

    3. - in the Microsoft Windows XP setup menu, press the R key to enter the recovery console.

4 - Select the operating system you want to set and enter the administrator password.

    5 - type expand d:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system32

    6. - you will be asked if you want to overwrite the file, type Y and press enter to replace the file.

7 - type exit to restart the computer.

Hope this helps - good luck!

  • Windows 7 does not open the windows in the taskbar. The content seems to be displayed off the screen

Windows 7 does not open the windows in the taskbar. The content seems to be displayed off the screen. It started after the uninstall of Registry Mechanic and PC Tools, but this cannot be bound. IE 9 seems to be particularly affected. So do not display all of the windows that show on the taskbar.

Use the Windows logo key & left arrow several times for each windows application through their positions until they appear on the screen.

This problem is normally reported after someone used an external monitor as the applications try to open in the same position they had when they were last open - so if there was an external monitor last time now disconnected, they will try to open it in the middle of nowhere.

I know not, or the other tools that you mention, but if they are registry cleaners then they could also affect other parts of your system.

    Hello

I have a Satellite L30-105 (PSL33E) with windows Vista. Windows Vista does not recognize the DVD - ram. BIOS recognize DVD-ram. I tried to download the drivers for the DVD-ram, but they are not on the side of Toshiba.

Who can help me to get the right driver or learn more? Problems with the carpet * a DVD-ram uj-850 s ATA device and windows Vista.

    Hello

The CD/DVD drive needs no special drivers!
Vista includes a Microsoft driver that works with all CURIOUS s (CD/DVD drives)

Simply said, the Vista should recognize the drive without any problems.

A few questions; did you get any error messages? What is the status of Device Manager? Do you see yellow exclamation points?

There is an old way to correct a similar drive problem. It worked on XP then try it on Vista OS.
It of necessary to update the registry entry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    1. click on the start menu.
    2. If it is a Vista machine in the search box type regedit without quotes.
    3. look for the registry key mentioned above.
    4. in the right panel you'll see something along the lines of UpperFilter and UpperFilter you want to click on each key filter and tap on delete. Click Yes when asked to confirm if you want to delete the key.
    5. restart Windows.

I use a database program in a number of previous versions of windows and windows 7 does not allow the program to launch denial of service.  What gives?

If you have Windows 7 64 bit without BACK program can run because there is no 16-bit subsystem to run it.

Try dosbox http://www.dosbox.com/. If that won't work your program, you'll need either a new database or run the BACK or on a 32-bit version of Windows in a virtual machine like VirtualBox https://www.virtualbox.org/.

Understand when the manufacturer of the hardware device will provide you with the drivers for the hardware you want to use on the operating system you want to use.  If they aren't - so there you go.

  • Install Windows 8 does not recognize the system drive

I built a new machine (chart below). Since this is a new machine and not an upgrade, I bought Win 8 Pro 64 bit OEM to do a clean install. The SSD is my system disk that Windows 8 will be installed. Four data drives are mirrored, two for the other two. Construction went perfectly. The BIOS recognizes all six disks: 1 SSD, 4 HDD, 1 DVD.

Insert and boot the disk of Windows 8. Accept the EULA, enter the product key. Arriving at the page "Where do you want to install Windows?", only four hard disks are listed. The SSD (installation to go) is not found by Win 8. ??? I tried to change ports SATA, cables, power supply - no difference. For each new change of hardware, the BIOS still sees everything. This isn't a hardware problem.

The question remains: why the installation of Windows 8 does not recognize the SSD drive. All five disks are on AHCI. I'm not in RAID.

I spoke with crucial technical support of all (manufacturer of the SSD). They were also surprised that the drive does not appear in the list.

Does anyone have a solution? I spent all the money on hardware, as well as the new version of Windows and I cannot install it.

This is the real kick in the teeth: Microsoft won't support me. The OEM of Windows 8 version is the same as manufacturers, such as Dell or HP. Support told me I had the support of the manufacturer. HA! I am the manufacturer. Either that or upgrade from an earlier version of Windows. This means that any that a new construction machine will get ZERO assumption of Microsoft. All just great.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

The DSS must be LOW LEVEL FORMATE.

Once, there may be no other [HDDs] not connected to the SATA ports.

    Install Windows 8 Pro now.

  • Windows 7 does not refresh the folder views

    I have the following problem:
Windows 7 does not automatically refresh the folder view (until I have updated manually by pressing F5) after the following file operations:
    Create/delete/rename/move files or folders

Final version of Windows 7 Professional, international English version. No upgrade, clean installation.

It seems to me that it is a delay in my case: if I wait about 30 seconds, the updating is done automatically. There are shared folders on volume.

    I made the following points:
-removed IconCache - did not help
-Reset - folder views did not help
-off to the discovery network and file sharing - did not help
-Made a clean boot - did not help
-a ran sfc - not found any violation
-new user created account - did not help
-updated the BIOS with the latest version - did not help
-updated the VGA driver to the latest version - did not help
-disabled the indexing of files - did not help
-run Windows 7 Mode safe mode (without network): it seems that the problem does not occur

I could be satisfied with Windows 7, but this question is terribly boring cause I work with a large number of files per day.

    Could someone help me?

I had the same problem recently.  Here's what I discovered, FWIW:

    • After reading all of the above, it seems that, at the base, this is related to the shell of the user of Windows interface and how he tries to 'reach out' to other systems.  Fixes disable the Windows Client, disabling home groups, disable sharing of files, etc.
    • I discovered that I have the problem that in some folders.  For example, if I try to create a folder in the my DOCUMENTS folder, the problem occurs, but if I create the folder in a random folder on drive C: (e.g.. C:\MyTest), no problem!
    • I discovered that the folder appears finally - it takes 30 seconds. By pressing F5, I was "rush" of the process.  It also sounds like a kind of thing network client timeout.

I wanted to start with the easiest, lowest impact.  It worked:

    • I opened the COMPUTER and removed a "network connection" that pointed to a server that is not currently available.

    That solved the problem completely.

  • Reinstall Windows 7 does not accept the product key

Just bought a new PC to replace my crashed. Install Windows 7 from the DVD I got for my old PC. It does not accept the product key. Think it's because it was a copy of Windows 7 upgrade. What can I do about this that I can't downgrade to Windows XP. I have the original and the product key for Windows XP disks.

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.
