Hello Azeem Rathore,

1. What is the error message that you receive when you install the language pack?

2. What are the features that are not available in your version of Windows 7?

The drive was provided by Dell, you will need to check with them to learn more about the content of the disc and the size.

Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise

  • Asian and extended Language Pack Setup error?

Hi, I have a PDF of dish that I need to type text in, but when I try to use the "Add text" tool a pop up comes up saying I need to install the latest version of the Japanese language pack. ("' Year error has occurred which can be fixed by installing the latest version of the Japanese language support package. '") Simple and reasonable enough, because the PDF file is in Japanese.

However, when I download the language pack, I get what is apparently an empty file (showing an icon to a blank white page instead of an icon with a hard drive on it).

When I try to open the file, I get one or two error messages:

«Adobe Reader could not open ' FontPack11009_XtdAlf_Lang - 2.msi' because it is not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an attachment to e-mail and has not been correctly decoded).»»

    or

"There is no ready application to open the document...". »

I tried to change my security settings, update my Mac set, uninstall software and reinstall Adobe Reader and download of different browser.

    None worked for my computer.

I could download the smooth language pack without any problem on another computer.

    Help!

Looks like it's the little phrase that I missed the first time around, of course the Windows install (MSI) will not work on a Mac.

  • English language pack or re-install Win8.1 English?

I am about to receive an Inspiron 17 7000, but because of my location, it was only possible to buy a system with version 8.1 of Windows Pro in Dutch only. I want only one interface in English on the laptop, so I guess I have two choices

    (1) get it operational and then install the English language pack. And never use the Dutch user interface yet ;-)

    (2) complete re-install with Windows 8.1 Pro English. I have access to a license (I have a Microsoft MSDN subscription) so it's not a problem. But some time ago I did it and I just start reading on Secure Boot UEFI and so on. And more important still, I wonder if that mess up my warranty/maintenance somehow?

For simplicity, I'm tempted by the first option. But limitations or restrictions compared to the second?

    Appreciate any suggestions?

    DaveKaretnyk,

It would be much easier that you just install the English language pack.

  • Windows 7 - Swedish Language Pack

    Background:

Updated the laptop my wife from XP to Windows 7. Material has a Swedish keyboard and XP has been installed directly from the Swedish. Upgrade, I got a Win 7 Ultimate DVD that was only direct English. I installed the OS DVD, then the Swedish language pack added during the update process. No problem with the upgrade or LP install. Works very well.

The only problem I have is cosmetic/aesthetic and that bothers me. When you connect the computer displays "Welcome", not "Valkommen" (Swedish). However, when we log on screen displays Swedish - "Xenonas ut" - does not "logout". So I take this to prove that the computer knows it is 'Swedish', but for some reason any displays some items in English. Same English result for "Please wait" and "stop". On reflection, I came to the theory that the three English screens noted the Swedish equivalent contains one of the Swedish characters not in the English alphabet (a, a, o) - specifically a - and the system does not understand how to display these characters and the default values for English. It's strange to me because you can type these characters from the keyboard without problem.

If this is the case, what and how do I change to get all Swedes during the connection / disconnection? I changed everything in the menu region & language for "Swedish" without result. Really, the only thing that has not been set to Swedish had to do with non-Unicode and changing that has not made a difference. Is it possible to change or are we stuck with Swenglish? As I said, this isn't a major problem for me - just want to know why the inconsistent results and, eventually, how to fix it.

Bonus question: there is really no need to English on the computer, but it is beacause of the installation DVD. Can I safely remove the English language pack and just leave the Swedish? When I went to explore this option the system provided a warning that English was the language of installation and seemed to suggest removing the English would be a bad idea. Again, this is not a big problem, I just wondered what the official position is on the subject.

    Thank you, DV

I found my answer on the administrative tab of region/language. When I opened the option 'Copy settings', only the current user has been configured to use the Swedish language pack. The home screen has been updated with American English based on the original installation. Copy the current settings to the user on the Welcome screen solves the problem. Start and stop are now all in Swedish.

You will not be able to eliminate the English as the base language pack.
The only thing you can do is uninstall and reinstall Swedish pack and find out what's happening

    Hello

It depends on which edition of Windows 7 you are using?

There are 2 types of languages, language Packs and pack (LIP) language. A language pack cannot be installed on versions of Windows 7 Ultimate or enterprise. A LIP can be installed on any version of Windows 7.

Click on the link and go to the following site. Download languages for Windows 7

Read the description for language packs. Scroll to the language you want to install. If this language has a download link, then it's a LIP, it has a link to know more , so if a Language Pack.

Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise

    Tell us what you find.

    Kind regards.
