Windows 7 freezes completely on most Web sites.

My computer at work is going bonkers. Many sites Web causes Windows 7 to freeze completely, the mouse will not move, ctrl-alt-del does nothing, I have to turn it off using the physical power button.

A few details, it is not a firefox problem. It happens with Firefox, Chrome and IE. It seems that Web sites that he planted a lot of multimedia course. SBNation and CNN have probably cause outages. Oddly, Gawker Web sites did not give me a problem yet. So far I've defragmented computer, run analyses of virus, disabled Flash, update of java flash and windows and updated foreign bodies (then removed and reinstalled each browser). In Firefox, I tried to run in safe mode, disable add ons, disable acceleration hardware and using ad-blocker.

Due to the fact that this happens on multiple browsers and on several reputable sites, it really seems to me that it is a kind of problem of Windows 7. I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I get desperate because it is limiting my ability to do a job.

Oh, and the problem does not occur when I run windows in safe mode.

The only thing provided by that info that you need to check the updates of your graphics drivers.

    Hi all

I am facing a serious problem of internet browser. Yesterday, I suddenly found a Web site connection problem with my MACBook Pro. Specifically, with all browsers such as Chrome, Safari and Firefox, I can't access most websites except Gmail, Youtube, Facebook, etc. All other sites gave an error "Err Connection refused". Surprisingly, I can connect to each Web site with other devices (Ipad, my phone) under this same wifi network... That my MAC did not work properly.

Then I saw that it had some malware called power helperbar appeared on my site Web whenever I try to re - open my browser. Then, I used all that are available online to get rid of it... Right now, it doesn't seem anymore, but I still can't access most Web sites...

I checked (I also changed to google DNS 8.8.8.8) DNS, IP, etc, and everything seems normal... At the end of the day, I reinstalled my Macbook system but the problem persists... I have really no more that I can do to fix personally.

I ask the help of the community?

    Thank you very much

    Best regards

You may have installed one or more variants of the malware "VSearch' ad-injection. Please back up all data, and then take the steps below to disable it.

Do not use any type of product, "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" on a Mac. It is never necessary for her, and relying on it for protection makes you more vulnerable to attacks, not less.

Malware is constantly evolving to work around defenses against it. This procedure works now, I know. It will not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a couple of days or more after it was published should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.

VSearch malware tries to hide by varying names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming model.

1 triple - click on the line below on this page to select, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination:

    /Library/LaunchDaemons

    In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

A folder named "LaunchDaemons" can open. If this is the case, press the combination of keys command-2 to select the display of the list, if it is not already selected.

There should be a column in the update Finder window. Click this title two times to sort the content by date with the most recent at the top. Please don't skip this step. The files that belong to an instance of VSearch will have the same date of change within about a minute, so they will be grouped together when you sort the folder this way, which makes them easy to identify.

Search in the folder with the name of all these forms:

    com.something.daemon.plist

    com.something.Helper.plist

    com.something .net - preferences.plist

Here, something is a string, which may be different in each instance of VSearch random meaningless. So far it has always been an alphanumeric string without punctuation signs, such as "disbalance" or "thunderbearer."

You may have more than one copy of the malware, with different values of something.

There may be one or more files with the name of this form:

    com.somethingelseUpd.plist

where George can be an empty string of sense that something different. Yet once, there may be more than one file of this type, with different values of Gisele.

Here is a typical example of an infection VSearch:

    com.disbalance .net - preferences.plist

    com.thunderbearerUpd.plist

You will have files with similar names, but probably not identical to these.

If you feel confident that you have identified the files above, drag only the files - nothing - to the trash. You may be prompted for administrator login password. Close the Finder window.

    2. open this folder as in step 1:

    /Library/LaunchAgents

Move to the trash all the files with the name of the form

    com.something.agent.plist

where something is one of the strings that you found in step 1. There may be not all of these files.

    3. If you have whatever it is moved to the trash in step 1 and step 2, restart the computer and empty the trash.

Do not remove the folder 'LaunchAgents' or "LaunchDaemons", or anything else inside of one or the other, unless you know you have another type of unwanted software and more VSearch. Records are a normal part of Mac OS X. The terms "agent" and "demon" is a reference to a program that starts automatically. This is not inherently bad, but the mechanism is sometimes exploited by hackers for malicious software.

4 reset the home page in each of your browsers, if it has been modified. In Safari, first load the desired home page, then select

    ▹ Safari preferences... ▹ General

    and click on

    Set on the current Page

The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you reinstall it never. A few small files will be left behind, but they have no effect, and trying to find all them is more trouble that it's worth.

    5. If you do not find the files or you are not sure about the identification, after what you have found.

If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.

    6. the penalty may have started when you have downloaded and run an application called 'MPlayerX' or "PDF Pronto." If there is an element with a name in the Applications folder, delete it.

This Trojan horse is often found on the illegal Web sites that traffic in content such as movies pirated. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit these Web sites and follow the instructions to install the software, you can expect more of the same and worse, to follow. Never install software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or which has been downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.

In the aspect of security & confidentiality of system preferences, select the general tab. The marked anywhere radio button should not be selected. If this is the case, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, and then select an other keys. After that, do not ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown Director.

Then, still in system preferences, open the pane of the App Store or software update and check the box marked

Install the system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later version)

    or

Automatically download the updates (OS X 10.9 or earlier version)

If it is not already done.

  • The Page Can not be displayed error on most Web sites

Recently I had problems with my web browser (Internet Explorer 10) in which it does not have most of the sites. It can make google.co.uk but not google.com. This also happens when I try in Google Chrome, I get this error:

"We are unable to display this Web page because it took too long to respond."

    Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

I don't think that it's to do with the router that I can use another device to connect to it and it works wireless, too. I forgot to mention that there is a wireless network connection.

I also ran network troubleshooting and it mentions the network cable may be broken and damaged. I tried to change my DNS settings, but the problem persists!

Could you please help me solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

    Furthermore, I use Windows 8 x 64 bit.

    Hello

To better understand the issue, let me know if you make recent changes on the computer before this problem?

This problem might have occurred because of these reasons:

    1. bad Internet Explorer Settings.

    2. due to virus.

    3. conflicts between third party applications.

I suggest you try the procedure described in the article and see if it helps.

    Note:

    1. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings.
    2. Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
    3. This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
    4. After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 3 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.
    5. When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
    6. When you refresh your PC, applications that you have installed Web sites and DVD is deleted. The applications provided with your PC and applications that you have installed in the Windows store will be resettled. Windows puts a list of apps removed on your desktop after you refresh your PC.

  • Mac ppc is now incompatible with most Web sites who need Flash Player?

I uninstalled Flash Player to shoot badly to another problem I had last week. It was not the cause, but when I tried to re - install, Adobe would only my system download and install Flash Player 9. I'm sure I had a version of 10 before, but I can't say for sure. In any case, this is when most every site that requires Flash Player (including the Adobe site has stopped working for me on this system by saying that I have to install Flash Player 10.2.

As a ppc running osx 10.4.11 is clearly on the Adobe download page can use Flash Player 9!  This means that this computer has just become obsolete for use on the web?

It doesn't seem to be a thread on the web but nothing concrete, and I find no download anywhere for Flash Player 10 under 10.2! Same Version Tracker as far as I can find has nothing.

Can you confirm that it will not work with the site to Adobe Flash Player 9? Has it been changed or upgraded in the last week or two?

And... Do you have any ideas where I might be able t find a version of Flash Player 10 under 10.2?

All these sites were working on this computer until last week, so I know it's possible (unless, of course, all these sites have changed last week).

Is there anything else I can try?

    Thanks for any help!

Hi, the version of Flash Player has been archived: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html

You will need to download the Flash Player 10.1 (81.7 MB) and save it to your desktop. Then you will find the 10.1.102.64 version for the Mac platform. There is also a Readme file.

Here are the instructions to Apple Discussions:

    * Flash Player for Mac PPC *.
Latest version of Adobe Flash Player for Mac PPC was in November, 2010 with the following output versions 10.1.102.64 for Intel based Macs. To update you need to download:

Flash uninstaller: [http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst, os = m10.6], make sure you get the right one.

Install Flash 10.1.102.64 [http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0. 289.0archive.zip] open archive to reveal still more archives and several files. Select: flashplayer101r102_64_ubmac.dmg

    To install:

    (1) run disk utility and check your hard drive. If the hard drive reports errors, then it will have to repair the first (another topic). If she checked, run repair permissions in disk utility.

Quit all applications to ensure that nothing is actively using Flash.

Run the application uninstaller. Adobe said: "Adobe recommends that you restart your computer before installing a different version of the reader."

    Run the Setup program
Use disk utility to repair permissions on your computer. This is important when installing anything whatsoever from Adobe.

    7-restart your computer.

You do not have to these instructions, but I posted if you do.

    Hope that helps.

  • Windows patches and version files system web site

    Hello

As I'm troubleshooting various problems, I want to know if the current version of a file system on my system has been patched already by a hotfix.

I'm pretty convinced I used such a site [Microsoft if I remember correctly] a few months ago.

I enter the name of the dll and obtain different versions / the latest available at the time.

Can someone remind me of the address of this site [or if it is a must in my mind]?

    Thanks in advance

    Bruno

I'm not familiar with a reverse like this search.  But if you know the hotfix KB number, you can open the properties of that Web site and lists the versions of the DLL that it could have installed, which you can compare to your own computer to see if you are updated.

    Hello

I have problems loading most of the websites on Firefox. The browser is completely updated and I am running Windows 7. What happened out of the blue a few months ago and I finally had to uninstall and switch to Chrome that charge nothing, but I really want to back Firefox.

    • Clear cache

Research on some of the information for your motherboard, it did not appear that there is a driver update for Windows 7 chipset.  You must contact them and see if they have a new driver or if they have heard of the original driver issues in Windows 7.
