XP can't activate HP flash drive v125w

Hello. I am running XP and I recently bought a HP v125w 16 GB flash drive. In order to move larger files on him, I reformatted to NTFS it. However, when my work was finished, and I tried to format it in FAT32, things froze on me and I was forced to restart. Now windows has disabled player (code 22) and it can not re - activate. I could reformat it on a Mac to FAT32 format, and use it without problem there, but as soon as I put on my PC, it's back to the disabled state. No idea how can I fix?

Thank you!

In Device Manager, uninstall the device... then put back in operation and let it redetect the drive.

If this does not work, you should try to reformat using the disk management console.

You could try to leave by force (Apple Menu > Force Quit...) the Finder that can hold in the file/disk.

    Restart should fix the problem.

You could also simply disconnect the drive - while it is not generally recommended that it should be strong enough, if nothing is written on the disc.

You can also use the Terminal commands to force deletions of files or to disassemble the disks, although applications can use them.

  • CPU and CPU max and freeze my game of Combat Arms. Can I use a flash drive to store my game on? If so, how. Windows Vista HP 64-bit.

I'd like put my music on one of these small plug-in things as well.  I have a 4 GB, USB Flash drive but for some reason, I think I bought the wrong thing... what should I use and where it goes and how it works... .so I can free up space on my new pc.  (p.s first time user sorry response)

You can store your music and other files on the USB fllash.  Simply plug into a USB port on the computer and then it will appear in Windows Explorer as another drive.  You can move files back and forth as you would with any other drive.

Put the game on flash drive will just make things worse for the processor and the processor - it will not solve the problem with the game.  The problem seems to be that the game requires a more powerful computer that you own.  The choices are new game or new/updated computer up-to-date (if the computer can be upgraded).

    I hope this helps.

  • I'm on a computer that has vista of widows, I can't access my Flash drive to send CV to employers. What should I do?

I'm on a friends computer which is windows vista. I have a flash drive which is given me to an organization that helps with used. I can access my command to snapshot of a public library, but not from this computer. When I try to open my drive it says that its not able to read. What should I do to get this comp. to read my USB drive so that I can send CV to the employer.

    Hi Stevensmiley,

    ·         What is the exact error message?

    ·         What is the brand and model of the computer?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: I suggest you to check if the problem persists when you plug the USB device into the other port

Method 2: You can even try to connect any other USB devices and see if the problem still occurs.

Let us know if it helps.

  • How can I save a Flash DRIVE in Windows 7?

I want to backup my Flash DRIVE using my Windows 7 computer.  Please note: I am NOT interested in the backup of my hard drive.  (I can do separately.)  What I want to do is to backup my USB, drive hard or on another USB drive.  Backup in Windows 7 does not give me the possibility to save all records other than the hard drive and I'm frustrated trying to find suggestions on the web for how to do this.

Any suggestions?  Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

If you want to save only the latest files and not to remove all the files in the backup that are no longer on the key USB, a command like this would be good.

(This implies that the USB is T: and copy its contents into a folder on your C drive.)  Run xcopy /? in a quick order if you want to see the significance of the switches).

    xcopy /s /d T:\*.* C:\MyThumbBack\ /y

This could be saved in a batch file and made a scheduled task to automate it. Note, however, in this case I would add some error checking to confirm that the USB is in fact available in t:

If you want to copy the new files to the USB and also remove all of the copy which are no longer on the USB, robocopy /MIR could be used in the same way.   (Be VERY careful if you experiment with it. It can do a lot of damage if done incorrectly).

I don't know about you, but I think 256GB is the largest available
today. But who knows what tomorrow will bring.

And 256 GB flash drives are expensive enough that, at least as the flash
the tiny size of the drive is more important, you may want to consider a
256 GB (or more) external hard drive instead.

Plug your key into a USB port and wait for windows to detect it.

You just open COMPUTER and navigate, and copy the files you want just like any other file or folder.
