Windows 7 Home group

Home between computers group automatically sends real-time input data? II have a desktop computer and lap top two windows7.

They do not seem to communicate too well.

Hi billy,.

Thanks for posting your request. Yes, it's in real time. However, there are few things to consider:

1. you are using a wireless internet connection? If Yes, to what extent are you router?
2. how many computers are connected to collective housing?
3. have you checked your Internet connection?

To check your network, you can run the Network Troubleshooter utility. For more information, click on here.

We must consider these things due to a possible lag time in your collective housing according to the travel time from the data and the speed of the network you have.

Let us know if you need more assistance.

Kind regards
Kem Lun

    Hi Mike,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thanks for posting the question.

According to the description, it seems that you are facing a problem while leaving the existing homegroup and the creation of a new group of residential.

This problem could be due to if there are files that are always shared with other computers.

I suggest to remove the network and then try to leave the homegroup and check if it helps.

    See the following Microsoft article:

    Leave a homegroup: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows7/Leave-a-homegroup

We would be more than happy to help you if the steps above did not solve the problem.

  • Windows 8 - home group network is not possible

    A whole new problem now!

Execution of two laptops using Win 7 and Win 8, nine only 10 days.
Had it all set up and seemed OK, but after 4 days I started to lose emails & couldn't find them anywhere.

Today, the residential group doesn't work - the two machines cannot see each other and the router & printer is found on the new machine.

As the router is not here I can't access the internet or e-mail.
I tried to move the home page settings via the Control Panel, but I get a message "homegroup is currently sharing of libraries on this computer.

Homegroup is not available until the sharing is complete"is on the screen for 3.5 hours and I am unable to do anything at all with the homegroup settings.

    Can someone help me please?

    Hello

I think that you must make sure that you ve enabled the + network discovery + on all computers.

Network discovery is a network setting that determines if your computer can find other computers and devices on the network and whether other computers on the network can see your computer.
By default, Windows Firewall blocks network discovery, but you can activate it.

Here's how a nice HowTo from Microsoft to the + enable or disable network discovery.

    Hello

Only the computer that is running Windows 7 can join Win7 homegroup.

    ---------------------

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

  • Why isn't the local users and groups in Windows 7 Home Premium active?

Unfortunately, the page of "Compare editions" for Windows 7 does not show that it is disabled for Windows 7 Home Premium.  So, I think that Microsoft is engaged in false advertising by activating only not this snap-in Control Panel.

Bottom line is: I need to access the Panel to ensure that I am in the Visual Studio debugger users group.  So, I can't debug anything.  The software does not work properly.

Microsoft should immediately activate this feature.

I'm sorry, but no original version of Windows has always included local users and groups .

I recommend posting your question in the MSDN Visual Studio Forums , where other developers can answer. They know how to do what you want.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium equivalent Group Policy Editor

Hello, I need help with a problem regarding the ability to restrict access to the application to another user on my computer. For some reason any Microsoft does not Group Policy Editor in Windows 7 Home Premium. I need to restrict the access of another user to all .exe files, with the exception of a small list of allowed applications. I would also like to be able to restrict access to control the Panel and all other files and folders. I still need to be able to access all applications and files of my administrator account.

    Hello

Yes there are other ways around the problem, although the easiest by far would be to
upgrade to Pro and use Group Policy.

You may activate just of Panel as needed. for your administrator account.

Or use a file fighting to move or rename the fichiers.cpl you don't want to do
be able to run. Restrict access to where you put the files.

  • Is it possible to add local groups and users on Windows 7 Home Basic Edition?

She is trying to help someone solve the problem of having with what she said, it is Windows 7 Home Basic Edition.

See said that it is a purchased laptop recently and that she had already used the local users and groups on this laptop, and now she is no longer able to see.

I told her that I was pretty sure that the local users and groups was not available in Windows 7 Home Basic Edition, but she said she had "activated" (his words) at the store where she bought and was able to add a new user, because it was part of his mission in M/S of SQL...

Is this possible? Are there options to do? It doesn't make sense to me, so I thought I would post it here.

Thanks for any idea that you can afford.

Windows 7 Home Basic Edition under the snap-in to manage local groups is not included. However, you can do the work manually as follows:

1 log in under an administrator account.
    2. click on the start planet.
    3. type cmd.exe in the search box.
    4. press on Ctrl + Shift + Enter
    5. click on "run as Administrator".
    6. type the following commands and press ENTER after each:
    net localgroup "Family" / Add
    net localgroup
net localgroup 'Family' 'Jack' / Add
    net localgroup "family".
net localgroup 'Family' 'Jack' / del
    net localgroup 'Family' / del
The meaning of the switches should be obvious.
