Hi Mike,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thanks for posting the question.

According to the description, it seems that you are facing a problem while leaving the existing homegroup and the creation of a new group of residential.

This problem could be due to if there are files that are always shared with other computers.

I suggest to remove the network and then try to leave the homegroup and check if it helps.

See the following Microsoft article:

Leave a homegroup: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows7/Leave-a-homegroup

We would be more than happy to help you if the steps above did not solve the problem.

  • Windows Vista Home Premium - problem "task manager has been disabled by your administrator".

    Nice day

I had problems with my task manager (I use the operating system "Windows Vista Home Premium"). Evertime I try to access the program, he returns with "task manager has been disabled by your administrator". I used different tools to remove malware and got rid of a lot of problems but still can not in Task Manager.

I created a new user with administrator account and logged on it and had no problem until my 'Task Manager' program open, but when I went back to my origional administrator account the same problem occurred.

Why can I get to "Task Manager" in my new account administrator and not the former?
I still have malware in the old account or do I go into my registry and restore something?

I am at a loss, and any help would be appreciated. I'm worried that I can always have some kind of malware that prevents me to access my task manager in my old account.

My problem began two months ago, every time that microsoft windows does an automatic update, and then restarts, my screen goes gray and I have to close it using the power button. After doing that it would hire up to my regular office, yesterday it downloaded and got the gray screen, tried to make a closed hard but when he started to log on again it wouldn't start. I had to log on in safe mode with internet connection. They suggested to do a restore, I did that 3 times, still would not start upward using normal startup. He then began using the repair tool on its own and after 45 minutes, I was able to log on and come back to my office. • Its Windows XP Home Edition problem

I am running Windows XP Home Edition, map mother MSI V-Class with integrated Realtek HD Audio but do not get sounds from my computer speakers only when an audio source connected to the outside is used.  All the sounds of the internal computer work fine.  All the devices work properly the Device Manager indicates. No yellow exclamation point or a red X. s all compatible devices.  What is left to do to get an external audio sound? What I'm trying to do is prepare to record LPs on CD.  I'm connecting a phono via a preamplifier and run a cable to Y of the band of the output sockets on the blue line in the port behind my computer.  No sound is emitted from the computer speakers when turned on. I have connected the speakers to the amplifier and got her so I know that the unit is working properly. Then I tried to connect a tape recorder directly in the blue line in the port. Again not sound.  I get a balloon saying that I just plugged a device.   All volume controls are located at halfway.  What could be left to do to play music outside the computer itself and to hear the sounds of computer speakers that work well in the case?

You have me interested in another tactic on this issue.  What happens if my computer taken are not what they seem?  I went the "input jacks' for 'taken them out' and voila, the sound from an external source! They are wired exactly backward. Line is actually the line outside and vice versa!  You helped me, if inadvertently, to check something I have acquired.  And for that I am very grateful. Thank you very much!

  • Printer on a home group problem.

People have posted similar questions, so I'm sorry about adding it. But I can't seem to find my answer immediately.

I have a laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium. Printer Canon Pixma MP970 is connected by USB cable. I also have a Windows 8 Pro tablet running. I created a homegroup, hoping to be able to share files between the two and use my Tablet printer occasionally. File sharing works fine. However, I can not access the printer at all of the tablet. I followed all the installation instructions. Everything else works, but when I go in the settings of the Tablet homegroup, I never the installation of the printer option. I do not see the printer in printers and devices, and I can't access it from Word on my tablet. I also have Norton 360, but it allows so-called Microsoft network through its firewall. I left the homegroup and started from scratch. Nothing seems to help me access the printer shelf, any suggestions? Thank you.

I would point out that the problem is solved. Amazon is offering a sale on DVDs of Windows 8 Pro upgrade. For $80, it was worth upgrading my laptop for Windows 8. I decided to do a clean install. Well, now that it's done and my printer is installed on my laptop, I then left my old residential group and created a new. And here, I can now print my tablet. Getting the right printer driver took a little effort, but now it works.

  • Windows 8 - home group network is not possible

    A whole new problem now!

Execution of two laptops using Win 7 and Win 8, nine only 10 days.
Had it all set up and seemed OK, but after 4 days I started to lose emails & couldn't find them anywhere.

As the router is not here I can't access the internet or e-mail.
I tried to move the home page settings via the Control Panel, but I get a message "homegroup is currently sharing of libraries on this computer.

Homegroup is not available until the sharing is complete"is on the screen for 3.5 hours and I am unable to do anything at all with the homegroup settings.

    Can someone help me please?

    Hello

I think that you must make sure that you ve enabled the + network discovery + on all computers.

Network discovery is a network setting that determines if your computer can find other computers and devices on the network and whether other computers on the network can see your computer.
By default, Windows Firewall blocks network discovery, but you can activate it.

Here's how a nice HowTo from Microsoft to the + enable or disable network discovery.

  • Windows 7 Home group

Home between computers group automatically sends real-time input data? II have a desktop computer and lap top two windows7.

They do not seem to communicate too well.

    Hi billy,.

Thanks for posting your request. Yes, it's in real time. However, there are few things to consider:

    1. you are using a wireless internet connection? If Yes, to what extent are you router?
    2. how many computers are connected to collective housing?
    3. have you checked your Internet connection?

To check your network, you can run the Network Troubleshooter utility. For more information, click on here.

We must consider these things due to a possible lag time in your collective housing according to the travel time from the data and the speed of the network you have.

Let us know if you need more assistance.

  • not able to add a windows XP Home netbook to a group windows 7

When use a USB key to set up the home group for wireless niether the office or the laptop can see each other

    Hello

Only the computer that is running Windows 7 can join Win7 homegroup.

    ---------------------

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

For the best newspaper of the results of each computer screen system and together all computers on a network of the same name, while each computer has its own unique name.

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .
