Windows 7 Java will not install. 64-bit version.

Followed instructions, downloaded the offline version, and it said it was installed, but it is "impossible to verify". I try to use the Web site requiring a Java; He cannot see it. Made java all troubleshooting, clearance, security, internet options, etc., even disabled the McAfee Firewall. Restarted too every time. Frustrating! And I really need this program NOW. Can anyone help? Thank you very much

You must install the 32 and 64 bit versions of JAVA, when you have Windows 7 x 64.

The default browser is 32-bit Windows 7 x 64.

    It would probably never work. Architecture of Windows Media has fundamentally changed and the CoDecs does not, even if you somehow have it installed, which probably won't be possible. And unfortunately still is not sold separately more, so you should have a shape any new suite or Premiere Pro where it is included. In those circumstances, the best cost effective way would get the creative cloud.

    Ideas: this system is most stupid of THE I never thought possible. I am in the internet Explorer IDIOTICLY stupid, that works properly and is the reason I use Google Chrome in the first place, I'm trying to install this scanner and it won't install because of the stupid 'blocker'. I disabled the stupid thing, and it will not install. I thought that these idiots @ Microsoft sued for monopolizing once already, and that perhaps they had learned their lesson to make us use their crappy products (IE)? Apparently not. This is ridiculous. They want us to be proactive, and then they make it almost impossible for us to PROTECT US? WHY? Why would they do something fundamentally stupid? Honest to God I'm beginning to wonder if go to Apple would not be a better idea instead of having to go through all this BS and probably not get help anyway. What a joke!

    I see that others have had the same problem since the update was published in February, but I can't find a solution.  Windows Update always fails with either of these error messages which directs you to the "Updated System Preparation" program, ot the "Fix It" application, or you advise to install as administrator, after a clean boot or in SafeMode etc etc.   None of these work.   The update simply will not install.  And do me link to a ' file windowsupdate.diagcab which is misnamed (it should be diag.cab to extract...) then always comes with no instructions on how to use effectively.   Someone at - it to these managed to break this one, please?

  • My windows update will not install the new version of windows update, I get the error code 80070020 on a 64-bit vista SP2

    My windows update to install a new version of windows update says it acts like it will download and install it then gives me the error code 80070020 and says that my computer is unable to download or install new updates or new version of the windows update. I have a 64-bit windows vista SP2 and my avira antivirus program that has a real-time protection. I tried to do a clean boot upward and tried every possible tip I found on the Microsoft and through suggested methods help panel, I found. My computer has Avira Antivirus that has real time protection I deleted and tried without that somewhere because he said it could be antivirus programs that include real-time protection. Does anyone have advice good?

    Hello

    1. What are the troubleshooting steps correct you did to fix the problem?

    2 did you a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

    I would say allowing you to run the FIXIT from the link provided and check if it helps.

    You receive error 0 x 80070020 when you use the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site to install the updates

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/883825

    You can also try the manual steps and check.

    If you follow the manual steps to start the computer in a clean boot state, remember to start the computer in normal mode after you have completed troubleshooting.

    Note: when you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 7, mentioned in the article to start the computer to a normal startup.

    Note: It is possible that some data could be removed if infections are detected.

    Hope this helps and keep us posted.

  • Windows Vista update will not install and causes cell phone restart. Laptop will not reboot and Startup Repair cannot fix the problem.

    Windows Update tried to install 4 days now. Every time he tries it tells me it failed and trying to install in manually. He said then the laptop restarts, but it does not start. Startup Repair tells me that it cannot solve the problems.
    I don't know how to go beyond this problem, can someone help me? I have no disk Vista as it came pre-installed on my laptop. Help, please!

    If your Vista is preinstalled, ANY support for your laptop is the manufacturer of the computer, not Microsoft.

    Try this:

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.
    There is no Vista free download legal available.
    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    Hello
    What is your level of service current pack? Click right my computer, click Properties, on the general tab, he says.
    If this isn't SP1A or SP2 you will not be able to install SP3. You will first need to install SP2.
    How you try to install the SP3? Stand-alone package or Windows Update?
    I must say that I'm not sure why you are unable to install, for example, NTBackup. As said by Harish B N, we need more information about the error you get.
    I'm running Windows 7 64.  I tried to use Windows Update and received this message: element not found, not found error (0 x 80070490).  Code 490 Windows Update encountered an unknown error.  I tried all of the troubleshooting, difficulty, burning the .iso (which worked great on my laptop running Win 7 32) and I tried a repair, nothing works.  Any ideas or should I just not worry about installing SP1?
    All,
    If all the above steps give no results, the next logical step is to perform an InPlace upgrade.
    An upgrade on the spot is the final solution before you have to reinstall the operating system.
    Note that it takes as much time to do the upgrade as to reinstall the operating system. In addition, some of your custom Windows settings may be lost through this process.
    How to perform a repair installation of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. Run a repair installation will restore the current installation of Windows to the version of the installation DVD. It also requires the installation of all the updates that are not included on the installation DVD.
    Note Run a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer.
    To perform a repair installation of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, follow these steps:
    1. close all running applications.
    2. Insert the Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 DVD into the DVD drive of the computer.
    3. in the settings window, click install now.
    Note If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:
    Click on start and type Drive: \setup.exe in the box to start the search.
    Note The placeholder drive is the drive letter of the computer's DVD.
    List programs, click Setup.exe.
    In the settings window, click install now.
    1. click on connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
    2. type the CD key if you are prompted to do so.
    3. Select the operating system in the "Windows Installer" page you want to update or Inplace.
    4. click Yes to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
    5. on the which type of installation you want? of the screen, click upgrade.
    6. when the installation is complete, restart your computer.
    Please see: How to perform an upgrade in Place on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Windows XP SP3 will not install and repeatedly keep trying with Windows Update
    I've had two months of problems with Windows 7 and had to build a Windows XP machine. I installed Windows XP Pro SP2 on the clean machine and tried to install SP3 I had downloaded and put it on a CD. Installation backed up the existing files and install the new files. The installer said he was changing the registry. After that the installer said that there was an error, a file is not found. Then uninstalled and restored the old files. Keeps Windows Update downloaded a stream of updates (as you would expect with a clean install), but at the end of installation of the batch that is being updated is in SP3 update running. Whenever the SP3 update is executed, it gets to the same point, fails because it cannot find a file and UN-installs itself again. The indices of anyone? It's a real Microsoft Windows XP Pro out of the box, not an OEM.
    Hi guenoun,.
    The message I received installation of SP3 was "System cannot find the file requested" with no error code. As I was installing a SP3 at the start of a CDROM created from the uploaded image of CDROM I thought it was unlikely that the CDROM was corrupt or missing files. So, I went in Mode safe mode and use the account administrator. SP3 installed then OK (it took more time than installing Windows XP). I then checked the updates, and although Windows Update has been updated about 10 new updates flooded down. So problem solved. It must have been one of these security issues where be a user with administrative privalges was not enough.
    Kind regards
    Tony
