Windows 7 Media Center Security Upgrade need to download audio books from Overdrive

Build of Windows 7 Media Center 12 blocked all my old music files, and I can't download audio books from Overdrive. In the Media Center, I have a pop-up with a link towards an upgrade of security about protected files, but when I have a link to this page, the upgrade button is gray.  Microsoft says it's a prob of OEM and contact the manufacturer. EMachines says that it's probably my Norton blocks.  He tried to disable the firewall and Norton and still could not get the update for the Media Center.  What gives?

Hi pamelals2u,

I suggest you follow the steps provided by Naman R in this link: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-sound/upgrade-button-is-greyed-out/5a4ac404-ed00-4a4e-920b-91e5e5decb5b

I hope this helps.

Remove the Microsoft .NET Framework 4. There is also a client, delete that one too.

Anyway, I tried to put it back recently, and for me it was ok.

I suggest that you first try the update of windows. If this does not work, uninstall the foregoing.

  • How to remove Media DRM and Zune DRM onWindows windows 7, I tried following insturctions but it did not work. I need to make the security update to download audio books

Cannot download audiobooks from the library and OverDrive Media is necessary that Windows 7 won't let me access Windows Media Player Security Upgrade that I need to use the DRM tool reset to reset the DRM systems and I followed the instructions but the website http://go.microsoft.com?fwlink?Linkid=10500 (http://go.microsoft.com?fwlink?linkid+105000) does not download.  Can you help me?

    Hello Deborah,.

DRM means digital rights management. DRM is a technology used by content providers, such as online stores, to control how the digital music and video files you get on their part are used and distributed. Online stores sell and rent songs and movies that have DRM that are applied to them.

Perform the steps mentioned below and see if it helps.

a: right click on the window of programs and select other options if you are in now play Mode. If you are using the library, select the organize tab and open the Options from the drop-down list. In other versions of WMP, go to the Tools menu and select the Options menu.
b: Select the Rip music tab. In other versions of WMP, click the CD Audio tab.

c: Make sure that the box that says music copy protection under Rip settings is unchecked. In other versions, WMP, uncheck enable digital rights management. In all versions, you can change the file in MP3 format, WMA DRM off. The MP3 file format uses no DRM.

  • Can I upgrade the RAM on my computer Windows XP Media Center?

I have a computer that is running Windows XP Media Center. He has two cards Kingston 1 G ram and 2 empty slots. I want to add memory and I was wondering if I can add two 4G memory cards in the 2 blanks at a higher rate of megaHZ? Card mother Intel's core 2 duo @2.13 MHz.

    original title: add more memory?

There is so much wrong with your question.

    1. your version of Windows (XP Media Center edition) can support a maximum of 4 GB of RAM (actually, he won't be able to use all the 4 GB, but that's another story).

    2. your mother unidentified may or may not be able to support 1 G in each of the two slots and 4 G each other 2 locations.

    3. your mother unidentified may or may not tolerate speeds of memory do not match.  If this is the case, the memory will operate at the slower speed of the module.

If you decide to switch to an operating system to 64-bit (which could use 8 - or 10 - GB of RAM), either look for your motherboard specifications or use the memory Advisor Crucial tool http://www.crucial.com/index.aspx or Kingston or another provider memory to determine what your system can take in charge.

Manual installation of Windows Xp Media Center Edition laptop Toshiba Qosmio F30 computer 2005

    Important notes before starting:

1 - the steps used for "Toshiba Qosmio F30" and for others models Qosmio that comes with "Intel Centrino Duo" Cpu and Xp Media Center 2005 installed.

In other words (you need for the first and the second Cd of Windows Xp Mce 2005 SP2 Oem).

    4. do not try to implement these measures on the other Versions of Windows Xp, use "Windows Xp Media Center Edition 2005 Sp2 Oem" only

    5. you must have the Usb floppy drive to install "Toshiba Raid Controller", it can be installed that by having the driver on a floppy disk and pressing F6 during the setup of Windows Xp, if you do not install the Raid driver then will Windows Xp does not recognize your hard drive.
