Windows Media Player 11 Rip - Vista Home Premium error
I have the same problems others have with my Media Player. This problem started not until I installed updates to windows. I have updated to service pack 2 and Internet Explorer 8. I tried system restore but my most old restore point was only a week before my problem and did not help at all.
Here's my problem exactly how it goes:
I put a cd Ripper. He begins ripping automatically the first track automatically. On all the remaining tracks, it says "pending" in the status of rip. After extraction of about 20% of the track, he spent the "ripping" to "error". Then, all other tracks are from 'pending' to 'error' and ejects the cd. I tried all combinations of bitrate and the type of file format and nothing seems to work. Also on some of your answers on this forum your told us to go to the page Windows VISTA Media Player 11 download to download, but when I click on the link http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx , DOES NOT give you the option of Windows Media Player 11 for VISTA, only for XP and earlier windows platforms. I even tried to download one for XP and I got an error saying something like that I have a newer version and that you can't use that one. Anyone can solve this for me? I was able to copy CDs to the 31/08/09, since these windows updates seems to have screwed something. Are there bugs in these new updates of compatibility issues? Help!

Hello SavatageFan, welcome.
Out of curiosity, have you tried ripping the content to another computer? The disc itself is possibly corrupt.
Another option you can try is to manually copy the contents of the CD to the hard drive and play back locally. That would reduce the possible causes. In addition, what happens if you try to read all the content? Never introduce error messages or jump?

Thank you! Ryan Thieman

Suddenly, the 64-bit Windows 7 Media Player doesn't have a location to save the ripped files. It is impossible to rip CDs. How can I fix it?
You can order these links on ripping...
You can try this procedure to restore your windows media player.
(1) Perform SFC first. Follow the link on how to make SFC (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833)
(2) turning on Windows Media Player again.
a. go to start and in the search type 'Turn Windows has or not'.
b. click on the "Turn Windows features on or off".
c. check the "media features.
d. restart the computer.
You can also try restore (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/system-restore) your computer to the final point where windows media player worked.
Or you can use the previous versions of windows media player that comes from restore points or windows backup.
Or you can try to run 'Fixit '.

If 64 bits and you need codec.
Read this 1st and go that route, or use the one below. (Vista or Windows 7)

HelloWhat changes have been made to your computer before the problem?I would like you to do the following.Step 1:Open the Windows Media Player settings troubleshooting utility and check if this helps solve the problem.Step 2:I also suggest you to reduce the speed of extraction of the parameters.Step 3:If the above steps fails, then perform the clean boot procedure to check whether a third-party program installed on the computer is the origin of the problem. Clean boot helps eliminate conflicts of third party software.Note: Follow step 7 to your computer as usual. -

Media Player rip CDs of audiobooks very slowly; almost slowly as listening to the tracks... I have XP.
Hi TedMcNamara,
· What version of windows media player installed on the computer?
· What is the service pack installed on the computer?
1. your computer may take longer to rip a CD, if it has a slower processor, or not enough RAM.
2. the amount of free space and hard disk fragmentation can affect the speed of the extraction process
3. the speed and interface of the hard disk drive that you are ripping titles to can affect the speed of tear. For example, a hard disk drive 5400 RPM will probably write data slower than a 7200 RPM drive. Similarly, ripping the songs on an external hard drive connected to your computer via USB 1.1, on a drive of flash memory, or a network drive may be slower sawing through the songs directly to the hard disk drive internal to your computer.
4. the speed and interface of the CD player that you are ripping titles to can affect the speed of tear. Generally, readers at speeds above RIP songs from a CD faster than low-speed discs. Similarly, Windows Media Player will probably better run when you use a CD player connected via IEEE 1394 or USB 2.0 when using a drive connected via USB 1.1.
To select a slower burn speed:
a. in Windows Media Player, click Options in the Tools menu.
b. click the devices tab, and then double-click the name of the CD - R or CD - RW drive that you use.
c. click on the recording tab and select a write speed that is slower or is the slowest available speed.
d. click OK and then click OK.
