Windows Media Player 11 Rip - Vista Home Premium error
I have the same problems others have with my Media Player. This problem started not until I installed updates to windows. I have updated to service pack 2 and Internet Explorer 8. I tried system restore but my most old restore point was only a week before my problem and did not help at all.
Here's my problem exactly how it goes:
I put a cd Ripper. He begins ripping automatically the first track automatically. On all the remaining tracks, it says "pending" in the status of rip. After extraction of about 20% of the track, he spent the "ripping" to "error". Then, all other tracks are from 'pending' to 'error' and ejects the cd. I tried all combinations of bitrate and the type of file format and nothing seems to work. Also on some of your answers on this forum your told us to go to the page Windows VISTA Media Player 11 download to download, but when I click on the link http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx , DOES NOT give you the option of Windows Media Player 11 for VISTA, only for XP and earlier windows platforms. I even tried to download one for XP and I got an error saying something like that I have a newer version and that you can't use that one. Anyone can solve this for me? I was able to copy CDs to the 31/08/09, since these windows updates seems to have screwed something. Are there bugs in these new updates of compatibility issues? Help!
Don
Hello SavatageFan, welcome.
Out of curiosity, have you tried ripping the content to another computer? The disc itself is possibly corrupt.
Another option you can try is to manually copy the contents of the CD to the hard drive and play back locally. That would reduce the possible causes.
In addition, what happens if you try to read all the content? Never introduce error messages or jump?

Thank you! Ryan Thieman

Hello
I can't share my media using WMP 11. When I try to do, opens a window of options asking how I want to share media files (with xbox, other users, etc.), and I select the options and click OK. Then, when I return in the sharing of multimedia files to see if the media are indeed shared, a window opens informing me "Media sharing has been disabled because a required Windows setting or component has been changed. For any additional help, click Help on the Web. When I click Web help, the error code above, with a few troubshooting not. You must ensure that Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service is turned on. However, when I get to the list of Services, WMP Network Sharing is not. It is also a step to confirm the ownership of a registry subkey. When I try to access the subkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences\HME\ [security ID], however, there is no security ID subkey. Instead of that, by virtue of the MCH, there is a list of "default (name), REG_SZ (type) and not the value (data)".Suggestions about how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Would it be useful to simply uninstall WMP and start over? If so, how to do that? I saw an obvious way to do it.
Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

Problem with the display of a video frame in Windows Media Player 11 on Vista
Hello
I am having some problems with the Windows Media Player 11 on Vista. On my XP machine, when I discovered a video frame by frame, it works perfectly back and forth. However when I try to play the same video on my Vista machine, the button to the front of the image works perfectly fine but the previous image button takes video from 5 to 10 frames. Since I use my machine Vista more and need this feature often enough, it gets boring very quickly. It is a drive problem (since the same player works great under XP with the same video) and can be solved with a patch or some sort?
Thank you
Hello Helloaamir,
Thank you for posting. I understand the problem you are having, but I do not understand why in the need for these features. Depending on what you're trying to do, may be able to use Movie Maker instead of it you also has characteristics of the image by image. If you could include that you are using this feature, because I can give you a good alternative or possible difficulty of deliverance.
Looking forward to help you any further. Zack

Windows Media Player 11 for Vista problem with skin mode
My Windows Media Player for Vista (premium) works well for more than a year. The other day, for the first time, I chose to start it in appearance (small) mode. The hourglass appeared, then she flashed "not responding". When I searched for help, help app has just ended. When I asked for more details, the message says "a problem caused this program blocking interact with Windows. Problem event name is AppHangB1; version of the app is 11.0.6002.18065; Hang sign is e710; Blocking type is '0 '. timestamp of the application is 4a5dce03.
I went into Control Panel to try to fix, but Media Player is not displayed as an installed program.
I tried to download and reinstall, but it says that my version is more recent than the downloadable version.
I tried to remove the program .exe file and I was told that I needed permission (even though I am the administrator).
I ran the cmd scan, but he said that some errors could not be fixed.
I tried to run regedit, but my computer says there is an error and could not work.
So I can't open, remove, repair or replace the Windows Media Player 11. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I saw another thread that has suggested to delete three registry entries. That did not work, but because WMP didn't work, I felt "BOLD". I've therefore deleted everything in the registry, including 'by default'. And guess what? It worked! He put back me in full mode, I'll leave the skin only mode.
Thanks again.

Original title: Error Installing Win Vista Home premium.
I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium. Suddenly, it wouldn't start. I changed the boot CD ROM and put my Vista disc in and tried to do a "repair" that it came with missing engine or something like this. After several attempts, I gave up and formatted hard drive losing all my data and programs (rather difficult to backup files when the computer does not start). So, I tried a complete installation. I put in the license code and he started the installation. After a few minutes, the message came; "Windows Setup could not reset the deployment engine. to install windows, restart the installation. I tried several times including completely turn off the computer for several minutes and try again. I tried several times. I thought oh well, I will install my Windows 7 program (this and never used). Error on this installation was: your CPU is only good for 32 bit and Win 7 I have is a 64-bit version. I'D RATHER INSTALL VISTA BUT need help on the error regarding the deployment engine. Thank you, Lloyd

HelloWhat changes have been made to your computer before the problem?I would like you to do the following.Step 1:Open the Windows Media Player settings troubleshooting utility and check if this helps solve the problem.Step 2:I also suggest you to reduce the speed of extraction of the parameters.Step 3:If the above steps fails, then perform the clean boot procedure to check whether a third-party program installed on the computer is the origin of the problem. Clean boot helps eliminate conflicts of third party software.Note: Follow step 7 to your computer as usual. -

Hi Palmdoc,
1 when was the last time it was working fine?
2. did you of recent changes on the computer?
You cannot uninstall and reinstall Windows media player in Windows vista, because it is integrated inside the operating system.
This problem occurs because the Windows Media Player library database is corrupted.
See the below Microsoft article and try the steps mentioned, check if it works.

adding new files or remove the old Windows Media Player files. (Vista)
Since June 2010, I was not able to add new files or remove the old Windows Media Player files. I can click on a new file and play using WMP or add to a playlist that is currently playing, but it does not recognize that it was added after as I close the program and re-open it. Or I can delete the files that no longer exist on my computer but WMP always has them as my files. When I click on add new media, it recognizes the right amount of files I would be adding, says to add them and then nothing is there.
Your media library has probably been corrupted. To reset, follow the instructions for WMP 11 Vista at http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary . Note the reset of the library will make you lose all the counts to play and possibly ratings too. Tim Baets
