Windows 7 network printer tcp ip port problem

My hp2605 printer stopped printing. I deleted the printer and then tried to add it. Control Panel of configuration/Printers and devices/add printer process shows that the printer is visible on the network, but the next page that will detect the tcp/ip port does not.

I tried to add manually the printer address ip 192.168.1.66 usingh acknowledged, but the same problem occurs...

Wow, impressive set of tests!  Well done!  I think you have proved that it is not your computer or your software with this test.

Non standard routers can often have standard and odd firmware means of handling something other than a Windows PC, Internet connection.  In my view, that a new router you would solve problems.

  • (64-bit) Windows 7 network printing

I want to print directly from my desktop Windows 7 (64 bit) on a network of HP printer WITHOUT the USE of an OTHER COMPUTER. I looked in the Web Jetadmin product, but from the technical description, I understand that print using Web Jetadmin on Windows 7 server does not support the definition of print queues. If this is correct, I need another solution. Any ideas?

    Hello.

Install the printerdriver you need, IE 64-bit upd on maschine you and then insert the ip address or the printer dns name in the properties/port under ip address settings. This is the standard way to print directly to a network printer.

  • Windows updates broke printing tcp/ip (Windows XP)

After having installed XP 16 separate security updates 11 Oct, TCP/IP printing has stopped working. A "Test Page Print" prints and sends data to the printer (2 different printers installed all both have the same number), but then the print job stops and after a timeout there is an error of ball "this document failed to print" message  ~62K/62K sent to the print queue. A small part of the beginning of the document is left in the buffer of printing. Very small documents consisting only of a few words will print completely, but not normal printing. When printing large print jobs, only the first 64 K should be sent to the print queue.
The author of the XPS document works very well.
There is plenty of space on the hard disk > 120 GB free, and the file system is clean.

    Tried the following remedies:
-Reinstall printer drivers - no difference, two printers are located during the driver installation, but fail in the same way
-KB324757 followed by the printer driver won't reinstall - no difference
-Disabled windows firewall (no firewall present AV) - no difference
-Reinstalled NIC - no difference driver
-Reset the stack TCP/IP - no difference
-Added 3 new test printer, printing TCP/IP by WiFi - fails to find the printer on the network.

  • 5150 Windows 8 network printing

I have a new HP AIO running Windows 8.1 and want to print on a Deskjet 5150 connected to an XP machine (on the network).

First of all - if I use Windows 'printer' Add dialog box shows the network printer in the flat view and then I select him and it purrs away for a while and said his "connection to HP 5150 on...» ", after much checking Windows Update, he said"no driver found ".

In the same dialg box there is an option to install the driver manually, after which he wants one. INF file. So I point to various HP 5150 driver downloads Windows, Vista, full XP, XP 8.1 a minimum and he do not like one of them.

Second - if I use the HP Windows 8.1 Deskjet 5150 driver and check the "my printer is already configured for use on the same network as my computer", after much soul search (and probably printer hunting), until appears a dialog box saying that 'no network device found ". Well we can't try too hard too stupid little more sees me the shared network printer-5150.

Third, I put some time in the search on the internet and to this day, I found not anyone who tries to do. I don't want to put the 5150 on Win8 machine because of the desktop environment.

    Anyone?

Try to set up as a local printer 5150 on Win8 computer.

    Add a printer
    Add a local printer
    Select create a new port:
Select Local Port for the port Type:
Enter the name of the network to the XP computer that is. \\XPcomputername\printerid
Install the 5150 driver when prompted

  • Windows 7 network printing problems

I've upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista Home premium, the two versions are 32-bit. If you are using Vista and I tried to connect to the printer on my home network using a wireless network to a runing XP Home Office, I receive an error message that says: access denied. I get this same message using Windows 7. He sees the printer on the network but will not connect. If I connect the printer directly to the laptop, it works fine.

Your "Access denied" error indicates that you do not have file/printer sharing set up properly.

    Configure file sharing / print:

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

In Windows 7, go to control panel > everything in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You don't want to use the residential group unless you have all Windows 7 machines. If you do and you want to use the homegroup, see Windows 7 Help & Support. Otherwise, in sharing advanced:

Discovery of plug in the network
Open the files and printers sharing
Turn on the sharing section Public folder sharing
    Plug the password protected sharing

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, running on Windows 7 sharing files and printer as above will take care of this for you. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this:

Start > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    D. Si one or more of the computers on your network are XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. In Windows 7 I usually share the Desktop of the user and the Public directory.

    F. you have the job of file sharing (and tested by exchanging a file between machines), if you want to share a printer connected locally to one of your computers, share of this machine. Then go to the printer mftr Web site. and download the latest drivers for the correct system. Install them on the target machines. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers.

How install a printer connected locally to a different computer if the driver installation routine does not help:

Go to the computer to which the printer is connected. Note the name of the computer that you will get to the control panel > system > computer name. Now in the Panel, go to the printers. Find the printer in question, right-click, and then click Properties. Note the name of the share. Of course you must have already set up file sharing / print on all computers involved and share the printer.

Now, go to the remote computer to which you want to add the printer. Control Panel > printers > add printer

Click Add a local printer. Click on create a new port. The default value in the drop-down list box is Local Port. Don't change that. Click Next. A dialog box appears for you request that you enter a port name. Type in the \\FullComputername\SharedPrintername

ex: \\mycomputer\HPDJ (that's why you wrote the names of computer and printer in the first step)

Click Next. In the manufacturers list, select the correct printer manufacturer and the correct printer model in the Printers list. Under "do you want to use this printer as default printer select"Yes"(if you do!). and click Next. When asked to print a test page, select 'Yes', then finish. HP have a support document - "HP printers - installing year Alternate Print Driver in Windows 7 for a USB connection cable" - and I tried to follow this exactly a number of times without success.

  • Duplex with our laserjet HP4100 and Windows 7 network printing

We have two new HP with Windows 7 desktop computers and you try to use the front and back of our network service HP laserjet 4100 dtn can you suggest the correct drivers or settings please?

Hi, this might be the question why his does not work.

It's a bug in Windows 7. The duplexor is reported as not installed by default, so you'll have to change that.

Go to the Control Panel, find the devices and printers, then click on it. Then right click on your printer icon and choose 'printer properties '. In the new screen go to the "Device settings" tab and under "automatic duplex print unit" set installation options on installed. Should be on is not installed by default, so change installed, then click on apply. Restart the software and perhaps even your computer and check that duplex printing is an option now.

  • Network printer with XP and Vista

I initially installed my printer (Canon i850) on the XP computer, then I disconnected the USB cable and plugged into the Vista computer.  Vista has found a driver and it worked.  Then I put in network computers via ethernet and a router.  Now, I try to add the printer as a network printer on the XP computer, but he can't find a driver.  Computer that needs a new driver and what type?
Is not the XP computer generate a print file using a XP compatible driver, send the file to the Vista machine, and it sends the file to the printer?  If that's true, he should be able to use the driver that is already on the XP machine.

    Extremely misleading terminology

When you use the Add Printer Wizard you must select: "Local printer attached to this computer" even if the printer is connected to another computer.
Only after that I tried this option has noticed the "(i) ' who says: to configure a network printer that is not attached to a print server, use the»»
local printer option.  Indeed, he tells you to do two things in the face.

I think that the Assistant must have been modified to only three choices: (1) Local printer, network (2) printer connected to another computer, (3) network printer attached to a print server.
The underlying confusion is due to the double meaning of the term "network printer".

My problem is now solved, but not through Microsoft or you guys.

Hello.  I have a HP 8600 printer that is no longer connects to my home PC.  The printer will always print whne using my laptop with no problems. The printer was working with the PC at home until about 6 days ago.   I tried a system restore and the question did not correct himself.  The error I get is related to ports TCP/IP is not available.  These errors occur when I try to add devices.  I installed and re installed the driver a couple of times and that didn't work.  I tried to add a TCP/IP port and the error message refers to the TCP/IP Wizard is not available.   I tried to add the HP 8600 via a USB cable and I get the same errors and have the same problems as described above.  I tried to add a HP 6310 to the PC via USB and I get the same errors and have the same problems as described above.    The 6310 works however with my laptop.   I tried the HP printer doctor software, but the question does not seem to be with a printer.  Issues seem to be attached to the PC and ports TCP/IP is only not available.  Can someone help me please to solve problems?

    Hey Joe,

This might have caused due to corrupted printer drivers or ports.

Uninstall of the printer with traces and reinstall again will be able to remedy the situation.

Please try to follow the suggestion and check them off below if it helps:

Please disable third-party firewalls installed on the computer, sometimes firewall blocks ports.

I replaced a Vista desktop with a new Windows 7 Pro 64-bit office.  HP OJ Pro L7590 was installed as a network printer on the previous computer.  The new Win 7 DT is in place and works very well (has internet access).  I downloaded the complete function for Win7 64 bit driver but am unable to complete the installation.

When I run the Setup.exe application it shows in the task manage but no installation windows don't open.  I tried as admin, no luck.  I run the script to uninstall HP and rebooted.  I disabled the time real AV or firewall (McAfee) and tried to run setup.exe as administrator.  Same behavior.  Setup.exe shows 20K memory usage, but no installation window opens.

I have not yet tried change the startup settings (selective startup, disabling all services other than Windows).  This will be my next step.

Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

Solved the problem by running msconfig.exe and disable all McAfee services.  Printer installed without problem.  Printer installed just to disable the AV and firewall in real-time.  Actually had to stop all McAfee services.

  • Cannot install network printer on Windows 7. Detects the printer then it says cannot locate the driver. All my vista and XP machines have no problem finding drivers. It is a 32-bit 64-bit vs questions? How can I fix it?

Cannot install network printer on Windows 7.  Detects the printer then it says cannot locate the driver.  All my vista and XP machines have no problem finding drivers. It is a 32-bit 64-bit vs questions?  How can I fix it?
Windows Server 2008 network.  Printers have ip addresses. Install the drivers from the Print Manager.  /Terminal Server Workgroup installation.

It's the same situation with XP.  The print driver names must match.  If you notice the name of the printer driver that uses XP is a name different from the one that is installed when you plug in the device on the Windows 7 computer.  This is just my assumption, please correct me if this isn't the case.

The real solution is to install a 32-bit driver on the XP machine that uses the same name that the 64-bit driver and share a printer using this driver or find a 64-bit driver that uses the same name as the 32-bit driver installed on XP and install the driver on XP.
