Windows 7 - network printer installation fails - lack of hpzpplhn.dll

Using psc 1610 all-in-in-one as a network printer on a small home network wired workstations XP and Vista.  Worked fine until I replaced the Office XP with a Windows 7 one.  First I installed directly connected to the Win 7 desktop computer, using the original CD - worked well.  Move the cable to the router, but the network printer could not be identified.  So added the printer giving the IP address of the port, but could not print with it.

The latest version of the AIO_CDB_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_130_141.exe software, but still could not print.  Have another printer Photosmart C4480, decide to pass.  Had excatly the same experience.

Has begun to hunt the messages of error, and in the case where the Viewer, I found the message that the network printer could be brought after due to a missing driver - hpzpplhn.dll.

Where can I find the hpzpplhn.dll?  Help please!

Wow, impressive set of tests!  Well done!  I think you have proved that it is not your computer or your software with this test.

Non standard routers can often have standard and odd firmware means of handling something other than a Windows PC, Internet connection.  In my view, that a new router you would solve problems.

Looking for a router "Wi - Fi Certified".  I like Linksys because, well, they are inexpensive and they seem to work reliably for years.  The WRT120n or WRT160n are easy to find on sale.  Amazon is a good start.

    Hi Erico,

Thanks for the reply.  I ran the "sfc/scannow" command from the line CMD (run as administrator) - completed without finding any breach of integrity.  I reinstalled SW from HP (PSB210_Basic_x64_231.exe) and installed without problem.  I was able to print a test page and a spreadsheet excel via the wireless network.

It seems that this problem is solved.  Thank you for your help.

    Help!

    Hello

I had the same problem on my two computers to Vista (x 64) and 7 (x 64).

I manually configured address (192.168.1.90) on my printer (OfficeJet Pro 8500).

In part, I installed current drivers (OJP8500vA909_Full_14.exe), but had the same problem as you:

the printer has been detected but not installed. I had the same helpful error ' printer setup failed to complete «...»»

Strangely, I could open the printer info web page to my IP address (http://192.168.1.90), for the config network was good.

Here is what fixed the problem for me:

    -Open the computer

    -Click on network

-must be registered with your printer

-Double-click it, and then click 'continue' if he asks you to do

This will start an installation of the driver. When it is finished, try to rerun the original installer or click the icon that was placed on your desktop to complete the installation of the printer.

  • Network printer installs and shows also ready to print but does not print.

I tried these last days get my network printer after getting a new laptop from work. I have the printer connected to my desktop running vista 32 home, my laptop running windows 7 Home premium 64-bit. I can detect the printer when you add a network printer, very well, I installed without error, the printer indicates as being ready to print.

When I try to print a test page, I get an error saying that the test page does not print, and returns me to the resolution of the problems... that found no problems. I'm able to share files between two thin computers and the printer works fine from the office and by other computers on the network.

I tried to uninstall the printer and reinstalled, I've updated the drivers of HP, restart both computers. I have read other forums that suggest you add as a local printer, however, I put the name of exact port showed when detected as a network printer, and it does not find anything.

I am really struggling to find a solution and I really need to be able to print from my laptop, so any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello

As you say that you are not able to print the Test Page, it seems that the printer is not connecting to laptop with Windows 7. You may need to reinstall the printer and try to add ports manually during the installation.

  • 5150 Windows 8 network printing

I have a new HP AIO running Windows 8.1 and want to print on a Deskjet 5150 connected to an XP machine (on the network).

First of all - if I use Windows 'printer' Add dialog box shows the network printer in the flat view and then I select him and it purrs away for a while and said his "connection to HP 5150 on...» ", after much checking Windows Update, he said"no driver found ".

In the same dialg box there is an option to install the driver manually, after which he wants one. INF file. So I point to various HP 5150 driver downloads Windows, Vista, full XP, XP 8.1 a minimum and he do not like one of them.

Second - if I use the HP Windows 8.1 Deskjet 5150 driver and check the "my printer is already configured for use on the same network as my computer", after much soul search (and probably printer hunting), until appears a dialog box saying that 'no network device found ". Well we can't try too hard too stupid little more sees me the shared network printer-5150.

Third, I put some time in the search on the internet and to this day, I found not anyone who tries to do. I don't want to put the 5150 on Win8 machine because of the desktop environment.

  • Windows 7 network printing problems

I've upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista Home premium, the two versions are 32-bit. If you are using Vista and I tried to connect to the printer on my home network using a wireless network to a runing XP Home Office, I receive an error message that says: access denied. I get this same message using Windows 7. He sees the printer on the network but will not connect. If I connect the printer directly to the laptop, it works fine.

Your "Access denied" error indicates that you do not have file/printer sharing set up properly.

    Configure file sharing / print:

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

In Windows 7, go to control panel > everything in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You don't want to use the residential group unless you have all Windows 7 machines. If you do and you want to use the homegroup, see Windows 7 Help & Support. Otherwise, in sharing advanced:

Discovery of plug in the network
Open the files and printers sharing
Turn on the sharing section Public folder sharing
    Plug the password protected sharing

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, running on Windows 7 sharing files and printer as above will take care of this for you. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this:

Start > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    D. Si one or more of the computers on your network are XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. In Windows 7 I usually share the Desktop of the user and the Public directory.

    F. you have the job of file sharing (and tested by exchanging a file between machines), if you want to share a printer connected locally to one of your computers, share of this machine. Then go to the printer mftr Web site. and download the latest drivers for the correct system. Install them on the target machines. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers.

How install a printer connected locally to a different computer if the driver installation routine does not help:

Go to the computer to which the printer is connected. Note the name of the computer that you will get to the control panel > system > computer name. Now in the Panel, go to the printers. Find the printer in question, right-click, and then click Properties. Note the name of the share. Of course you must have already set up file sharing / print on all computers involved and share the printer.

Now, go to the remote computer to which you want to add the printer. Control Panel > printers > add printer

Click Add a local printer. Click on create a new port. The default value in the drop-down list box is Local Port. Don't change that. Click Next. A dialog box appears for you request that you enter a port name. Type in the \\FullComputername\SharedPrintername

ex: \\mycomputer\HPDJ (that's why you wrote the names of computer and printer in the first step)

Click Next. In the manufacturers list, select the correct printer manufacturer and the correct printer model in the Printers list. Under "do you want to use this printer as default printer select"Yes"(if you do!). and click Next. When asked to print a test page, select 'Yes', then finish. We have two new HP with Windows 7 desktop computers and you try to use the front and back of our network service HP laserjet 4100 dtn can you suggest the correct drivers or settings please?

Hi, this might be the question why his does not work.

It's a bug in Windows 7. The duplexor is reported as not installed by default, so you'll have to change that.

Go to the Control Panel, find the devices and printers, then click on it. Then right click on your printer icon and choose 'printer properties '. In the new screen go to the "Device settings" tab and under "automatic duplex print unit" set installation options on installed. Should be on is not installed by default, so change installed, then click on apply. Restart the software and perhaps even your computer and check that duplex printing is an option now.
