Windows 7 partitions - BASIC MBR

Hello world

I have HP Pavilion dv6 laptop running Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit OS. I have the 1 TB harddrive with 4 primary partitions already configured by the manufacturer HP. (attached my details of screenshot of the DISC).

I want to install Fedora LINUX, so eager to create another partition. But my BASIC MBR disk and it evolves to dynamic if I try to create another partition. I Googled it and found my BASIC MBR disk that is limited to having only 4 primary partitions. I searched a few partition tools that can convert basic MBR disk to GPT and tried. After his conversion, if I log into windows 7, but my recovery of HP (F11) at the startup does not work and gives the error message: BOOT/BCD missing. Trying to recover, I some how messed up my login windows 7 as well on the rise. Yet once installed everything using disks of Windows 7 (called and ordered from HP support).

I tried to convert disks many times and can't get it worked (both Windows 7 and HP recovery) @ start upward. I'm very tired, installation of windows 7 as many times. Please suggest me something to install FEDORA LINUX in a separate partition. Basically, I want to know if I can create more partitions in disk MBR BASIC.

Help, please. Thanks in advance. I'm not very good at English, please bare with me

Problem Sovled. No need to convert it to a GPT disk. Here is the solution.

I converted my C:\ in drive logical and shrunk to recover some unallocated SPACE (50 GB). I installed FEDORA LINUX in unallocated space without installing the BOOT loader and the bootstrapper to in windows 7 using EASYBCD 2.2. It worked. Yes... !!!

Steps followed:

1. install MINITOOL PARTITION.
Free software free download Magic Partition Manager, partition, partition magic, partition magic Windows 7 and server software partition - Partition Wizard online

2 convert C: / primary to Logical drive using MiniTool Partition Wizard.

3. reboot and check that your windows 7 and HP recovery tools work correctly.

4 reduce C:\ volume to unallocated space

5. install LINUX FEDORA 20 space unallocated by using Live USB

6. in the installation, primer to remove, there is an option to choose 'do not install boot loader' storage configuration stage. I did it because as my previous installation of Fedora messed my windows startup configuration 7 and I wasn't able to boot windows 7, which is throwing an error "file missing" Boot/BCD.

7. once the installation is complete, restart and it wil start automatically in on Windows 7 as it has not installed the bootloader in Fedora.

8. install EASYBCD 2.2

9. in the LINE add, NeoGrub install bootloader and click Configure. In the note pad file, just get the content below. You just need to identify your drive root and boot partition numbers.

# NeoSmart NeoGrub bootloader Configuration file
#
# This is the configuration file NeoGrub and should be placed at the C:\NST\menu.lst
# Please see the EasyBCD Documentation for more information on how to create/change entries:

  • Windows 7 Home Basic disk partition.

Yesterday I created a disk partition in my laptop of friends using Windows 7 home basic. Now, I am unable to send it back. When I try to format it by using the default settings the error I get is. "The dynamic disk is not supported by this server." Later, I got to know that dynamic disk is not supported by Home Basic. Now what to do? I am unable to use the 150 GB partition I've done unless I format it. Is it possible that I can use this space?

Create a separate partion to "ease the burden on partition win" is not actually going to achieve something IE doesn't go to lighten everything, leave them are part of this disk.

I guess that if you view disk 0 to disk management shows a system reserved about 100 MB, and C the boot partition, and you already have 4 partitions on basic and if you add another partition, it must be configured as dynamic.

You cannot convert dynamic to basic use in victory built tools.

When you create the recovery discs, and I hope that you have done this now, if you ever have to recover your system, you will lose all you have created the partitions and all data.

Bottom line, your goal/plan to create a separate partition is incorrect. Go back and expand C to consume all the free space.

    Or try these methods.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Install another operating system could destroy this option:

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Windows how much you bought your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Them or us ask the right sequence of key.

Here are all LEGAL for Vista:

How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Windows Vista Home Basic Edition keeps looping and will not start

Windows Vista Home Basic Edition will not boot to the Welcome screen. It keeps restarting loop. I tried to go into safe mode, but who does not start too. Loops of safe mode and return to the start screen.

I have a dell laptop and I just restalled operating system. I had Windows Update set to automatically download and install. PC worked great until the next day (after the time programmed for automatic updates). I'm assuming that the started after some windows updates when installed. Unfortunately, I can not enter in Windows or Normal or Safe Mode.

    Bill

If safe mode does not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

  • Download Windows 7 Home Basic

I have a laptop and Windows 7 Home Basic 64-bit, OEM original (authentic), there is the COST on the bottom of my laptop. By chance, I upgraded to Ultimate but it is not authentic, so I want to do a new installation to the basic home edition.

I do not have the manufacturer's recovery CD, I just tried to download the .iso of recovery of microsoft software, but could not do this, because it's only for the commercial version...

I have no choice and I searched the internet, I found the site of third party serving the .iso in Windows 7, it's official, intact and clean, is not a crack, modifier, keygen, etc...  It is only the eifcg was deleted, so the installation was AIO (all-in-one) or universal, includes x 86 and x 64. Just like the original CD contains. I download, install on my laptop and I use my oem product key authentic activate and it has been successfully passed all activation, got the microsoft security databases and have been upgraded to 10 Windows Home.

Is it legal for me to do this? Download iso file to third instead digital river has been completed... I don't have the choice... Here is the link that I have download the iso of 7. :

    http://getintopc.com/softwares/operating-systems/Windows-7-Home-Basic-free-download-ISO-32-bit-64-bit/

Please check, is it legal? And I should buy the dvd authentic to reinstall?

    Thank you.

Sound fine, but getintopc is not a site that is tolerated to reinstall Windows media download. In the future to review the options that you can consider:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

    Hello

My Dell laptop had Windows 7 Home Basic.  The hard drive has been corrupted (because of Windows 10 according to the directives of the repair shop), and could not be used after formatting.  The repair shop has installed a new hard drive with Windows 7 Ultimate which is obviously a pirated version.

I want to reinstall Windows 7 Home Basic Edition in my laptop.  The hard drive is not the original that came with the laptop.  So no partition recovery or any other help/remedy is available.

Now I want instructions step by step in simple English to download the Windows 7 Home Basic (free), I have the product key.  I'm 70 and not familiar with the technicians. So not Tech please.

    Help, please.

    Concerning

    S Subramanian.

(My previous questions regarding Windows 10 Mr. Andre Da Costa and Mr. Gerry C J Cornell responded and were helpful, but I did not understand correctly.  I will try to download the 10 Windows in a USB key later and use them. A big thanks to them. However the O S still could not be downloaded as it says Windows could not configure one or more system components).

The phase "Installation drivers and features" is the most delicate part of the upgrade. If you see a c1900101 x300xx failure, it means that we have failed in this phase. The most common failure is x 30018, which usually means a driver crashed when we there for the first time. Any driver can cause failure, but he can't block 100% of the time. If you try again, it may work only.

    Reinstall Windows 7 Home Basic:

  • How can I download windows 7 Home Basic OA LATAM

My problem is that I can´t find an OA LATAM of windows 7 Home Basic version.

I wore my laptop (HP notebook 1000LA) to 'fix', but when they returned, they were installed Windows 8, but I Don t know if it is original and I want to go back to Windows 7 using the serial number supplied with the notebook, but when I put the serial number, it displays a message that the Don t series correspond to the version of windows 7.

So some body knows how can I download the correct version of windows 7?
