Windows 7 - permissions - access to images, videos, doc files

Original title: Question

Due to a lack of access authorization of security, my files (images, videos, doc files) are blocked.how, it can be unlocked, so I can use them again.

Shafiq salvation!

In case you have Office 2010 Starter Edition, this applys to:

This dialog box may appear when you try to double-click to open files:

You can also see some of the icons associated with files Office have changed. Some users have reported the types of orange Tower, that some say the file file type icons appear empty or without the normal icons of Microsoft Office.

This occurs because the operating system has lost the association between a file type and the application it is supposed to open it. This does not change the file, this will only affect the relationship between the operating system and the applications associated with documents. This means that the typical double action fails when you try to open the files.

How do I solve this problem

There are several options available to fix this problem. Each will restore specific products in a fully functional State. This is permanent patches rather than having to return to the opening of files within applications.

1. use 'open with... '. "Any file missing its extension, right click and select 'Open with' and select 'Manager virtualization Client Microsoft Office' This will restore the file to the application type. In some cases, you will see "Microsoft Application Virtualization DDE Launcher". Select this option to restore the file type associations. You can also use the "choose default program... ' option, select the same option in this list permanently restore the association of file type to the correct application of Microsoft Office.

2. in some cases, you may need to repair the installation of Office 2010 Starter Edition to restore all types of files. In this case, visit add / supprimer remove programs, select Microsoft Office Starter 2010 and select 'Edit' from the menu bar.

You will be asked if you want to repair your existing installation. DO NOT SELECT "delete all associated with this product Office user settings" If you want to keep your settings on the local computer. Click Yes when you are ready. It will take a few minutes to fill out, and then you should be able to open the files on your computer by using a double-click action.

I hope this helps.

See you soon

  • How can I block Windows media player-all function or video?

OK, I have one of four newspapers-ons in my pc that is locked down pretty tight where the only thing I want to work is word processor (WordPerfect and starting Word version).  My teenage son has impulse control issues, which gives more access means that it is wandering and not on the task.  Theoretically, he likes to play music while working on school assignments (writing) on the computer.  The problem is that apparently in addition to the execution of music files already resident on our pc and external drive, he inserted DVD in the dvd player and movies run (secretly) that are played to use the features of Windows media player.  My preference would be to hell video functionality or the ability to use the DVD drive under this opening of session and leave the ability of audio file.  Is there a way to do this?

Alternatively, if I install another drive, can I block the video features of a different player and block the drive windows completely?

    Hi Akphoneguy,

We understand that you want to restrict your teenager using Windows Media Player to play the video file but without impact on music files. However, the feature that you are curious about is currently not available in Family Safety. It can only restrict the entire working application and not a specific feature within the application. If you think that restrict certain features of any application is a convenient feature to have safe family, we suggest that submit you it as a feature request to Microsoft who appreciates your comments and considers that the suggestion of a future versions. In regards to your idea to install a new drive and Windows Media Player blocking completely, as now, we have no information for the player who can perform the function you are looking for. We can only suggest what to look for any media player that may able to do using your search engine preferred.

  • Windows Media Player cannot play the videos

Since the last 2 months I find that my Windows Media Player cannot play the videos. After having tried many, I installed the third-party Codec such as GOM Player, GOM DECODER and GOM converter on an experimental basis. For all its operation I installed that for the second time (test period = 1 month). Now, I found some unusual - the entire screen with prop-up Windows began to appear "foggy, unusually large screen, Visuality fuzzy." So GOM was 'uninstalled' in the menu 'program & feature. When he learned from the Microsoft Forum I installed k - lite Codec system. Now, some of my videos recorded under 'Image' menu works fine. But the videos stored in the "library" of WMP is not reacting. I need your advice. Again, in a prop-up window of K-Lite has asked to opt feither for: (i) (ii) repairs, (Iii) remove or change.
