Windows 7 photo screen saver not the 'options' has Vista, how to do i.e. sepia options, transition, random, sizing, etc.

I notice that my Windows Vista Photo Screensaver has options to display photos, sepia, randomly, stretching, transition, sizing of the images etc, and Windows 7 has only a speed option.  What happened to the other options and how to really customize the screensaver?  It seems that the picture for the screen saver option has been reduced and made vary credits for display.  I have a laptop of Acer Thinline 4810 t - 4508 with Windows 7, Intel SU4100 and 4G of DDR3 memory.

Windows Photo Gallery Slideshow Screensaver does not support themes in Windows 7. To work around the problem, you can use the "Windows Live Photo Gallery" since it incorporates a similar screensaver that supports themes.

Hi there - we use Vista for some time, we have been able to use the photo screen saver option and it worked very well.  All of a sudden it has stopped working and we now get only a blank screen.  All the other screen savers simply do not work the photo option.  When we choose the picture option on what we can see the slideshow of pictures in the display of small images tab screen saver under "Screen saver settings", but when you click "Preview" the screen just comes in white, and if we allow for the screen saver turns on automatically it is always white.

    Hello SuzyQarama,

Thank you for posting.  As everything worked correctly until you have changed monitors, it seems you are having compatibility problems with your new monitor and your video card.  You will need to install the drivers for your new monitor and possibly for your both video card.  This will allow the video card and monitor to work better together.  This should force the video card to not show the resolutions that the monitor cannot handle.  Once you have performed these steps, you must then select the native resolution for your new monitor section personalize.

    Hello jerrylumpe

    1. If you use an old mouse, try to clean it.

    2. you can have a running process in the background that keeps XP thinking that he is busy and so the screen standby does not start.
Go to msconfig and uncheck everything you don't need, then see if the screensaver will kick in.

    Start/run and type

  • Windows 7 Photo Screensaver slide show the maximum number of Images? Recommended file specifications?

I use Photos as a screensaver as described here:
It seems that if I have too many image files for the photos as screensaver. After the screen saver slide show has worked for at least 20 minutes, it lags behind trying to leave the screen saver and return to the desktop.
What are the specifications of file recommended for use of photos as a screen saver?
    • file size in MB (which resembles all default values in C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper
    • dimensions maximum file (which looks like all default values in C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper
    • types of files (extensions)
    • maximum number of images supported
When you look at the pictures in my file they all seem to be in the 2 MB and range 1920 x 1200. So my only guess is that having too many is the problem. It does not lag when I change the directory of C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper. I'm only here a hypothesis, some data of real functional specs would help immensely.

    Hello

-Did you do changes on the computer before this problem?

Method 1: Run the Microsoft FIXIT from the link and if this resolves the issue.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_photo_and_slideshow_diag/en-us

Method 2: Follow the steps mentioned below that can help you in the matter of fixing.

    (a) open with Windows Explorer %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\(you will find files there are two: TranscodedWallpaper.jpg and slideshow.ini).
    (b) open slideshow.ini > Remove its content > Save changes.
    (c) delete TranscodedWallpaper.jpg (you can substitute your own file of that name).
    (d) restart the computer.
    (e) re - create the slide show and check if it helps.

Method 3: If the problem persists, I suggest to maintain the computer in clean boot mode and check if the problem persists.

You can read the following article to configure the computer to boot:

  • Two monitors and photo screen saver

In Vista, how to make the photo screen saver to display pictures on both of my monitors?  I have nothing seems to do the job.  It worked fine under XP.

    Hi Boz,

Vista doesn't have the function of screensaver photo on several monitors. You can use your favorite search engine to search for a third party application that can support.

NOTE: The third-party products are independent of Microsoft. Microsoft makes no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding the performance or reliability of these products.

  • Photos in Windows Live Photo Gallery does not?

I use the photo gallery Windows for years.  When I updated to Windows 7 recently, I upgraded to Windows Live Photo Gallery and everything has been fine until recently - all of a sudden, when I open it, there are a ton of pictures that don't charge - they are solid gray rectabgles or rectangle of generic icon 'island '.  When I double click on it, my image opens, but I have to be able to see all my photos in the Gallery - is - anyone know why this is happening?

    Hi Tatifl,

    (a) don't you make changes to your computer before the onset of the problem?

    (b) what kind of image files you are trying to open?

    (c) that you get the error messages?

    (d) what is the size of the file you are viewing?

Put the computer in a clean boot State and check if the problem persists.

Note If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.

    b. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    c. under the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    d. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.

Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    e. click OK and then click on restart.

Note: Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    b. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option and then click OK.

    c. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Hi all

in the settings I disabled completely safe screen. But now I've started my mac, waited half an hour and then tried to open a session. And... guess it... the logon screen showed a screen saver.

When I wake up the computer in "sleep" or "hibernate" mode, only the photo Office rises, not the icons, so I have to restart with a hard off every time.  What can I do?

Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE and bring up the Task Manager > move in process > select Explorer > end task and it will restart and if all goes well it will bring to the top of your screen properly.

Your computer is completely up-to-date with all the updates?

Note I'm not a fan of setting hibernation or sleep a computer there, it can sometimes lead to problems (as you see)

    I hope this helps.
