Windows 7 print spooler crashes

Running Windows 7 Pro with all the latest updates...  Installed a HP 1600 with the latest HP drivers and local printing works very well.

Set the printer to be shared on the network.

Installed the latest drivers from HP on the other 3 machines with the latest operating system upgrades...  (1) Windows 7 Pro, (2) Windows 7 Starter, 3-Vista 32.

Print jobs sent from any of the 3 other computers to the shared device deepen the impression that but crash.

Jobs will not print until I have stop and restart the spooler service for printing on Windows 7 Pro machine to which the printer is physically attached.

However, I have connected the printer directly to my router and all computers can print without problem.

For me it nails down to be a problem with the Windows 7 print spooler or a parameter that it controls.

So, is this the print spooler, or is it a setting at the origin of the problem?

And, if it is a parameter, one that or those?

On the Ports tab in the printer properties on the computer that is sharing the printer, uncheck enable bidirectional.  The HP language monitor needs access to a resource that has only the local administrator.  When you restart the spooler of jobs are planned in the context of the system rather than the context to users.

  • Print spooler crashes

OK... very detailed and very annoying problem.

File (multiple Machines, not just my own)
    Computers
    Computer 1 - Windows 7 home 64-bit
    2 computer - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit family
    3 computer - Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
    Network printers
    1,2,3,4 - Samsung Clp-620ND printer
    5.6 - Samsung CLP-610ND printer
    Symptoms
Randomly, try to print a document
This requires a preview before printing, or create a PDF or JPEG printing will stop the print spooler.
The print spooler crashes and the program and any other program that requires access to this ability will be block.
(Odd Note: this also affects programs like Corel Draw creating a view)
Stop the print spooler and clean the cache of the spooler, and then restarting the spooler does NOTHING.
Stop the spooler will unlock programs but of course allow me to print.
The ONLY and I mean the ONLY thing that works is set to zero.
Since it's 3 work computers, restart anywhere from 1 to 4 times a day is not effective and a little boring.
    Time
This started occurring immediately after an update of microsoft 3 months ago. I was unable to identify the cause of the update.
    Measures ALREADY taken.
Remove the hardware and the driver / driver package from every single computer on the network / re - install the drivers (no luck)
Remove the hardware and the driver / driver package from every single computer on the network / install different drivers (no luck)
Use of Mr. Fix - it for the printer problems (no luck)
Re-install WINDOWS (works until this bad update draws once again, and I can't just turn off update)
Turn off the printer for print jobs queued (works but not good because that causes major problems with printing)
Uninstall / install all the drivers as administrator.
Turn off Port forwarding / share for each printer (no luck)
Install the shared USB printers (no luck)
Turn off windows Defender, I found an article that describes that an update of the virus definition started blocking the printer ports (no luck)
I tried third party drivers (no luck)
Stop the spooler / Clear Cache / Start Spooler (no chance does nothing, so please do not just copy and paste recommend this.) *.
Change the print processor (no luck)
Change the type of printing (PCL vs no PCL) No. chance
    Caveats
All programs that do not require a preview before printing / or a creation of a PDF file to print will always be printer (IE Notepad)

  • Cannot add a printer. Print spooler crashes. Error 0x000006be

So, I spent several hours working on this problem and nothing seems to help.

I have Windows Vista Ultimate SP1.  When I try to add a printer, properties of control server or anything else related to printing, I just got the error "windows cannot add a printer [or" server properties cannot be read "" "]." The local print spooler service is not running.  Please restart the spooler or restart the machine. »

When I restart the spooler via administrative tools/services, or from the command prompt (it's supposed to be successful) attempt to add a printer again, I get the error message 'the operation cannot be completed (error 0x000006be)' and the spooler promptly crashes again.  This just started to happen suddenly, and no not because I tried to install some any printer.  If it helps, I've been using a Dell Photo Printer 720, but I used it in the past with the same system, OS and driver without problem.

I searched for solutions in the world and so far have removed all traces of the system printer drivers in the case of a corrupted file crashes the spooler.

    So far, I have:
1 deleted all of the printers that could be uninstalled from Add / Remove programs

2 cleared out the Windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 and Windows\system32\spool\printers\ folders

    3. suppression of the subkeys in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers registry keys

4 deleted default subkeys in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors registry key

Is there something else I could do to fix this?  Is it possible that the spooler application itself has a problem?  Or have I missed something it's ruin?  Any help would be REALLY appreciated!

    Hello urrghhvista,

    Try this:

    1. click on Start> select Control Panel> in programs and features> select turn Windows features On or Off.

    2. click on sign + Print Services.

    3. Select LPD and LPR. You must remove the Internet printing Client. Restart your PC to ensure there is no error in the spooler service.

    4. try to reinstall your printer software/driver.

Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. Make it a great day!

  • Windows XP print spooler 1068 error code

I have an error code 1068 print spooler.
The fault has happened today 28/04/2012
I've been using a Canon MP240 printer for 4 years.
The print spooler is set to automatic.
I followed the instructions and I have following error messages
The dependency Service or group was able to start.
This message appears in LexBceS & Fax
I am using Microsoft Windows XP,
    Home Edition,
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 3

As I wrote when you posted this question identical at the end of the outdated threads.

I don't really know what "instructions" may be followed.  There are a lot of 'instructions' in the old thread.

It is also important to give the full text of the error messages, rather than paraphrase as you did.

All I know is that you have a Canon MP240 printer which does not work because the print spooler is not running.  And the reason for which the print spooler is not running is probably because you were at the same time a Lexmark printer (or a badge printer Lexmark Dell) and this printer has been poorly uninstalled.

I don't know if your printer Canon already worked and if he did, what happened just before it stopped working.

You might have noted that I asked several questions of the person who initially asked to return in November.  You have answered them yourself to save time.

Please provide the full error message.

Do you now or have you ever had a Lexmark or Dell-badged Lexmark printer installed?

What happened just before the printer who stops working?

And what version of Windows is installed, including service pack? [You said it; Thank you.]

Also, I don't know if you have a fax modem that you want to use Windows XP fax services.  I ask this because when you paraphrased the error message you received, you mentioned 'Fax '.

Normally, the fax service depends on the service print spooler, rather than the reverse.  If the print spooler service does not start, then the fax service also fails to start, so I expect that you might have seen two distinct error messages. .... But I'm just guessing.

To save time - and with the caveat that this is based on guessing the answers that you have not yet provided - what follows will likely restore your printing capacity.  You WILL need to do the "special procedure for computers that have or had a Lexmark or Dell-badged Lexmark printer" before you start step A.

Often, but not always, the symptoms you describe are caused by a corrupt print job stuck in the queue or a damaged printer driver.  However before you clean things up, on general principles, that you can download, install, update and run full scans with each of these two free programs:

    AntiMailware MalwareBytes
    SUPERAntiSpyware

Do not operate the two scans simultaneously.  Each will take a long time, so start it and then go do something else for a while.

    Cleaning of printers

NOTE: If after completing step has the print spooler is not always running after you launched the command "net start spooler", you will not be able to follow all the steps in "First Article".  Use of the special procedure for printers Lexmark described below and follow in its first Article.  If still no joy, use the alternative method that is linked below.

    A. Clean on print jobs pending

    • Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
    • Type the following in the black command prompt window, and then press ENTER after each line

    net stop spooler
    del/q '% windir%\system32\spool\PRINTERS\*.* '.
    net start spooler
    output

    B. clean the old printer drivers and install the latest drivers by using the directions in One Article.

A special procedure for computers that have or had a Lexmark or Dell-badged Lexmark printer.

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)

Type the following in the black command prompt window and press enter

dependent on the spooler of sc config = RPCSS
    output

Note that there is no space before the =

If you want to use a Lexmark or Dell-badged Lexmark printer after having done the above, you will need to reinstall it.

  • Need instructions step by step to restore on Windows XP print spooler system.

I go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS, there is nothing for me to remove it.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated...

    Hello yan_dao69,

I suggest that you try the methods below to solve the problem.

    Method 1:

I suggest that you run the printer troubleshooter. This will automatically diagnose and fix printing problems:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-printer-Troubleshooter

Ideally, this would set the print spooler service issues.

    Method 2:

I suggest that you disable the Antivirus software temporarily and verify if you are able to start the print spooler service. You can check the link that will give you information disable antivirus below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Please make sure that you enable the antivirus software after the test to keep your computer protected.

    Method 3:

Check the dependency of the spooler services in the registry.

    a. Click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. look for, and then click the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Spooler

    c. right-click on spooler, click Export, save a backup file on your desktop.

NOTE: If an unforeseen problem be encountered after changing the registry, please double-click on the file to restore the backup.

    d. in the details pane, if the DependOnService value shows values of RPCSS and other key, right-click DependOnService and then click on edit.

    e. in the value data box, delete the other keys and then click OK.

    f. exit the registry editor.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Windows 7 print spooler keeps stopping

Windows 7 preinstalled Dell.  Two printers installed on the system (HPLaserJet1300 and Scanner/printer Dell 922).  Both printers worked well for ~1.5 months.  Suddenly, print spooler continues to stop.  I can't remove printer drivers to try to reinstall.  I tried to restart the spooler of the Panel of the system, but no change.

I also tried sfc/scannow, requested by the other topics in the forum.  Results showed something about printer files is damaged and cannot fix.  (at this point, I'm over my head)

    Please notify.

    THX.

First give you property and a full access to c:\windows\system32\spoolsv.exe

Then run cmd as administrator and run this command: del /Q C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS\*.*
