  After upgrading to windows 7 Home premium 64 bit vista family premium 64-bit, I expected to be able to connect my EPSON Stylus D68 printer on my laptop and leave immediately. However I met this error message: "Windows cannot add a printer. The local print spooler service is not running. However, the restart option has been obscured and when I just tried to start then I met an other error message: "windows could not start the spooler on the local computer service, error 1053: service has failed to demand launch or control in a timely. more when I click Properties to the spooler in the description it says failure to read the description. error code: 1813. This is all very frustrating for someone who just wants to add a printer to his laptop computer. can someone please? because I am all of these ideas.

  1,2,3,4 - Samsung Clp-620ND printer
  5.6 - Samsung CLP-610ND printer
  Symptoms
  Randomly, try to print a document
  This requires a preview before printing, or create a PDF or JPEG printing will stop the print spooler.
  The print spooler crashes and the program and any other program that requires access to this ability will be block.
  (Odd Note: this also affects programs like Corel Draw creating a view)
  Stop the print spooler and clean the cache of the spooler, and then restarting the spooler does NOTHING.

  The ONLY and I mean the ONLY thing that works is set to zero.

  All programs that do not require a preview before printing / or a creation of a PDF file to print will always be printer (IE Notepad)
  I'm at the end of my rope. My boss is constantly on me on this one, and having to constantly adjust driving me me crazy.

  I have a HP 5610 all in one printer. It worked fine until I tried to clean up and improve my sytem with the Maintenance of the system software. It deleated all my printers and now Windows does not re - install a printer. I get the following error: Windows can't open add printer. the local print spooler service is not running. I tried the first sugesstion to use the patch program and it detected the error and tried to fix it but I got error 1068. (Dependecy service could not start.)

  Check the print spooler service:
  1. go into Control Panel, administrative tools, Services.
  2. scroll down to "Print spooler" service, the status should be "started" and startup type must be 'Automatic'. If this is not the case, click "Restart the service" on the left pane.
  3. If the service starts not so much that you found the error 1068 (dependencies). Double-click the print spooler service to open its properties.
  4. click on the Dependencies tab under "this service depends on the following system components: Remote Procedure Call (RPC), and then expand RPC (click the sign +) you will see DCOM Server process Launcher (you will need to close and open the services console if it is not)." These two services are also, check the list if their status is "started", start them as needed

  3 services should have 'Started' State and the Startup Type to "automatic".

  Hello, in our House, we have 3 laptops and 1 pc. The 3 laptops were able to print to the printer connected to the main computer. One of the laptop crashed and it should restore it. Once restored, we added to the Working Group and tried to add a printer, but whenever we try we get a window that says: X Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied.
