Windows 7 PRO GP update error

We have a very specific problem

We have a DC DC & installed in all offices (Windows 2008R2) primary school. The domain name is abc.com for all offices and between the DC replication occur between office arrive without problem.

Customers of each office gets authenticated to the domain controller in the competent office.

But for a group policy update, it gives an error like below

'Political work could not be updated successfully.  The following errors were encountered: the processing of Group Policy failed.  Windows tried to read the file -\sysvol\\Policies\{BD732AAF-016F-11D2-945F-00C04Fb984F9}\gpt.inigo to a domain controller and has failed.  Group Policy settings cannot be applied until this event is resolved. This problem may be transient and can be caused by one or more of the following:

(a) name resolution/connectivity to the current domain controller.
(b) latency file Replication Service (a file created on another domain controller has not replicated on the current domain controller).
(c) the customer (DFS, Distributed File System) has been disabled.

The error occurs only on some clients.

We are able to Ping, connect to the local domain controller and the client gets the IP address of the local domain controller and gets also authenticated by the local DC to log on.

On the PC, which gives an error if we try to ping domain name - abc.com, it returns the ip address of the ms office to another, not the local domain controller.

  • EliteBook 2570p: Windows 7 Pro OEM activation error after reinstall onto the new HARD drive

    Greetings!

I had to replace my laptop HARD drive and then clean installed windows iso downloads, burned on a dvd.

I first tried Windows 10 (build 1511), then Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with SP1. Or activate using the key OEM COA sticker.

I tried MS activation of phone also, but they said that they could not generate a confirmation key. They tried to transfer me to "get windows up and running support" but could not get through.

The first activation says invalid key without being connected to the internet, which makes me wonder if there is an inconsistency between my product key and SLIC data, (which I do not have much understanding).

The service 'Ask Tech' at Microsoft tried to sell me a license at a high cost, which I don't think I should need because I have the license OEM Windows 10 retail.

I don't have HP recovery disks (and did not expect to need).

    Any advice would be welcome!

(the location is the South Africa)

    NoKillBill

The problem is that you should NOT use Win7 ISO downloads to reinstall your PC.  Given that your PC came with a preinstalled HP Win7 OEM version, and is NOT available for download, I have to assume that what you used to reinstall a retail version.

And the problem is that the commercial version only lights up with a retail key.  The product key that came with your PC and is printed on the COA sticker, is a key to OEM HP product - and that cannot be used to activate any other than the version from HP OEM version of Win7.

Your best bet at this point, is to restore your PC using HP recovery media - and then perform the upgrade of Win10 after that.

It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Good luck

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.

Usually the "Windows is unable to Check For Updates" error message produced always of the blocker window update connection attempt.

    1. first of all, please check that there is no any third-party firewall preventing Windows Update to communicate with "update.microsoft.com.

    2. check if Windows Firewall is blocking the update of Windows.

Please see the following article for connection errors:

  • c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll - update error 646

I continue to wear on one of my two machines updates failed code 646 for the Office updates. I have questions about c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll versions (and other related files apparently). I have Windows Update set to check and let me decide. I have maintained security using workaround to manually
    Download.

On my desk for c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll, the version is 7.3.7600.16385. This machine is a Dell Inspiron (put into operation in July 2009) with Windows 7 HP 32 (update Vista HP 32 recently), Intel and Office Professional 2003. Properties show that the file has been
created, modified and accessed July 17, 2009. This machine has never had any failure of an update.

On the laptop (Compaq V6508AU) HP version c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll is 7.4.7600.226 - Vista HP 32 (put into operation in September 2007), AMD and Office Professional 2003.  Created and consulted on October 4, 2009, amended August 7, 2009. This machine
a constant codes 646 failure for the Office updates in October, November and December, i.e. after creation and consulted on date.

Is the version on the laptop of the cause of the update error 646? Why the desktop version are previous to the laptop?

I'm just guessing that this problem could be linked to the MSOcache or a related Office registry error only.

Maybe the uninstallation and reinstallation of Office isn't enough (sometimes it was not in the past).

You mention WSUS that is not Windows Update Agent. WSUS is completely different from system update.

Maybe to a certain stage why some have the problem with 646 with office and others are not clearly will some time in the future. At the moment we have only the work around, which is annoying but works.

  • Windows 7 Pro - automatic update issues.

I did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro (with SP1) a few days ago. The PC works perfectly, apart from the fact that Windows Update will simply not work.

When I click on the "Check For Updates" button, it informs that it is looking for updates, but that she always looking. I left on for more than 24 hours, but he just keeps going until I stop and can't find updates.

I ran the advocatus of Windows Update and also the difficulty of problems updating from the MS site, both without success. I also checked that MS .net Framework is installed (that is, version 4.6.01055)

Can someone tell what could be the problem here? It's driving me crazy!

    Thanks for the update.

When you have several updates to install, you won't after a clean installation, you should consider installing batch of 10 / 20 to avoid the scenario that an update causes all updates to fail. It also allows to connect to the internet using an ethernet cable and not wireless, which is significantly slower and less reliable.

  • Windows 8 Pro OEM update problem

    Hi all

I recently bought an Acer P3 pre-installed with Microsoft Windows 8 single language tablet. Since I need to use some of the functionality available only with the Pro version, I bought a Windows 8 Pro OEM license. Since there is no way to reinstall Windows 8 at the beginning, I use the 'add new features' upgrade. Apparently the license does not work since it is a complete Pro 8 license and features requires the Windows 8 Pack Pro license instead. So, I make a call to Microsoft Tech Line and full of hope that they can change the license Pro Pack. After 2 hours of curiosity and the final tip, pleading for a change (it is not possible to Exchange or refund from the store I bought because the seal is already open), they will not always be allowed to change and leave me with RM 414 (~ 129 USD) in the sewers.

Is it possible for me to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro with this product key, and I really hope there is some flexibility on the part of Microsoft to help me in this situation since I already bought a Microsoft product with a higher value than the Pro Pack Upgrade. I would be happy for you to show my Bill and photo of the if product key requires Microsoft.

Thank you and looking forward to any kind of answers.

Unfortunately, add functionality does not support OEM System Builder licenses. You should have bought the Pro Pack or Pro Windows 8 details of upgrade.

Your only other option because you can not return it is again a custom installation of the currently installed Windows 8 SL. Backup the current Windows 8 install before do you.

First, create a backup of your installation of Windows 8 on an external hard drive:
