Windows 7 RTM, problem explore Lenovo Y 550?

I just installed Windows 7 RTM on my Lenovo y550 and installed all the drivers.  When I open a window or program and the minimize, I can't click on an icon or on the desktop. If I click on show desktop at the bottom right, then I can interact with any icon and the office very well.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics driver, but he has not solved. I also noticed that the driver for graphics card uninstalled, the problem is still present. I reinstalled the chipset driver and reinstalled the graphics driver, once again, but nothing helped.

If you terminate the process explorer.exe and then restart, the problem is still there.

Any help would be appreciated!

I just wanted to update for those who might experience this problem; the Lenovo OneKey theater was the problem. After you disable the program out of Msconfig, the problem disappeared.

  • No sound on Portege R500 using Windows 7 RTM

    Hi all

I have the problem of sound with Windows 7 RTM. No sound playback, the microphone works very well and the control panel > hardware and sound > Realtek HD Audio Manager detects whenever a microphone or headset is (UN) plugged.

Any driver I install and no matter as the playback source (sound system, Media Player, Winamp and others), there is no playback of the sound on the speakers or the headphones. The last I installed Realtek R2.31 is.

I start to wonder if what happens to be fixed, after all, Windows 7 is to go gold and there is no solution for this problem.

    Hello Paulo

If you see this section of Win7 you will find a lot of comments but a general message is: Win7 is not published official and drivers Toshiba doesn't offer WIN7 at the moment. When the Win7's official published Toshiba will start Win7 support, and I hope that your Portege will also build.

This means that Toshiba will offer drivers Win7 on Toshiba download page. These drivers will be tested and it should work properly. Now on US Toshiba support page you can download some drivers Win7 BETA (untested). If you want to check under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

  • Yoga 2 Pro - sleep setting missing after upgrade to Windows 10 RTM

Here's another interesting event. I use sleep mode all the time, that's what happens "when I close the lid. After upgrade Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 RTM, "standby mode" is not found. "when I close the lid" and related parameters in power management have an empty selection, sleep does not appear in the drop-down list of choices. It seems revenue to "Put to sleep" by default. By reading the other Windows 10 forums I know sleep is supported in Windows 10, how can I get that back? I tried to download and install the latest driver for power management (as dated 17/07/2015, I think) but I get the message that "you already have a newer version of the driver installed", I cancelled out of the facility. Are there newer drivers planned for soon? I can shoot with Microsoft Basic Display Driver (3200 x 1800 only, see my other ad in the forum), although I used a different resolution in Windows 8.1 and hibernate instead of mode 'sleep', but I hope that these features will work soon. Thank you, Bob

    * Sleep is back * after having solved my problem of graphics driver. Fixed. See the thread «driver Intel HD graphics on Yoga 2 Pro fail after...» "for more details. Cheers, Bob

  • My Windows XP has problems with shlwapi.dll

My Windows XP has problems with shlwapi.dll and there are plenty of sites to download, but they all want money, why don't misrosoft not has an answer for this problem. When I try to update to internet explorer 6 to explore 8 then the error always pops up saying: you have a problem with shlawpi.dll and he can not continue... Very very frustrating.

In general, it is not a good idea to download dll files.   See, for example, http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findtheproblem/qt/dll-download.htm

If you explain more in detail what your problem is, including providing the full text of the error without paraphrase, it is likely that someone in the appropriate Microsoft Answers forum will be able to help.

Because it seems that your problem is related to Internet Explorer, you are more likely to receive help if you post in the forum Internet Explorer, where there are already many threads dealing with issues of shlwapi.dll on IE: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/Search/Search?SearchTerm=shlwapi&CurrentScope.ForumName=ie&CurrentScope.Filter=&askingquestion=false

If you look through some of these threads, you can find the answer to your question without further delay.  If not (or if you just want to watch), do not forget to include not only the text of the error message, but also the version of Windows XP, you have (Home, Pro, Media Center) and its service pack (start > run > winver > OK).

And, based on this thread - with what seems to be your exact problem - also include responses to the following questions (there no answer, certainly because the OP has NOT provided to the request for information):

    1. what application or anti-virus security suite is installed and is your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

    2. do you have a free trial Norton, or a test of free McAfee [a] come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it? (No matter if you have never used or activated).

Windows sidebar calendar problem, sees nothing except chassis. How can I solve?

    Hello SEEN H K,

    1. this work was very well at any time before your computer?

I suggest that you try the methods below to resolve this issue:

    Method 1:

Open a windows Explorer window and then paste the following text in the address bar:

    %LocalAppData%\microsoft\Windows sidebar

This will open the Sidebar gadgets folder, where you should see a file named Settings.ini.

If this is due to recent changes to the computer, I suggest that you do a system restore on your computer.

    a. Click Start, type system restore in the search box and then in the list click on the system restore program.

    b. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.

    d. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    e. click Finish.

It may be useful to try to capture a dump of user of the explorer.exe crash mode.

You can configure Windows to create dumps of user mode. First, create a System Restore Point.

If you copy and paste the following text in Notepad and save it as a .reg file, then right click on the .reg file and select "Merge" to add to the registry, when the .dmp file explorer.exe plant should be created in the C:\CrashDumps folder:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows error Reporting\LocalDumps\explorer.exe]
    "DumpFolder" = hex (2): 43, 00, 3A, 00, 5 c 00, 43, 00, 72, 00, 61, 00, 73, 00, 68, 00, 44, 00, 75,.
    00, 6 D, 00, 70, 00, 73, 00, 00, 00

After Explorer (explorer.exe) crashes, you can, and then make the .dmp file available (provide the link) via Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site?

  • Windows 7 RTM search resulting Sharing Violation in Excel 2007

I use Windows 7 RTM Ultamite 64 - bit (updated recently to Vista) with Office 2007 SP2. I do very frequent experience sharing Violations in Excel 2007 that disappear if I disable the search (for example using the indexer status gadget) and come back when I turn it back on. According to the gadget I find 6.1.7600.16385. FYI I have also Windows Defender (currently disabled) and Trend Micro WFBS 6.5, but these programs do not seem to be involved, based on the problem will disappear and return when I stop and start the search indexer.

This problem occurs very frequently and has already caused losses of productivity.

    Here's a typical scenario:
    -Open an Excel file
-changes in the leaves or in VBA (the problem occurs regardless of whether or not there are macros or if the file is in the format 2003/xls or xlsm xlss 2007)
    -Click Save
-get the "Sharing Violation": your changes could not be saved in "" because of a Division. violation try saving to another file.

    - , leave the Save as dialog box, save (sometimes works); then get:

    -
-get again save under and try and save it under another name or overwrite existing
-Exit: errors were detected during the recording of "". Microsoft Office may be able to save the file by removing or repairing some features. To make the repairs in a new file, click on continue. To cancel saving the file, click Cancel.
-get , save as, and then: Excel encountered errors during save. However, Excel was minimally save your file to .
    - or sometimes, instead of the above, I get a message that the file is damaged and cannot be repaired.

Anyway, please provide a fix for this problem as soon as POSSIBLE.

I contacted Trend Micro and they report that it is a known problem in the current version of the WFBS and they provide me with an update to try.

  • I reformatted my computer with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 that my MSN games are not installed.

I reformatted my computer with windows 7 and internet explorer 9 is not my games .it installed msn, which I can do on this problem

MSN games are not part of Windows 7 so when you reformatted and reinstalled Windows 7 you have lost the. Depending on the type of game you will need to reinstall each game - this may mean to download again MSN. If they are browser based games simply to go to the MSN Web page for the game in the usual way.

If instead of MSN games, you actually mean that games built into Windows 7 as Chess Titans, Spider Solitaire & FreeCell, then you can just turn them on by using the following method:

    1. click on Start (lower-left) and then on Control Panel.

    2. click on programs and features.

    3. on the left side of the screen, click on 'Windows turn features on or off".

    4. find the entry called games & check the box next to it.

    5. click on OK.

    6 reset.

If the games box is already checked, uncheck the box , click OK, restart, then do steps 1-6 above.

  • Windows 7 RTM - lsass.exe error causes Windows reboot

I got my copy of Windows 7 RTM de MSDN AA and have been in love ever since I installed it, all except for one problem.

My computer is part of a domain the active directory.  I receive the following two errors:

The failing application name: lsass.exe, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bc155
The failed module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5be02b
    Exception code: 0xc0000374
    Offset: 0x00000000000c6cd2
ID of the process failed: 0 x 234
Start time of application vulnerabilities: 0x01ca23c92c9a9900
    The failing application path: C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe
    The failed module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll
    Report ID: 1772eae8-9017-11de-a36a-001e8cb7e844

About one second after the error, I get the following error:
A process of critical system, C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe, failed with status 255 code.  You must now restart the machine.

Then, a message saying "Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in a minute.  Please save your work now. "and then the computer restarts a minute later.

I've found that I can pose the problem of two similar ways:
    1. I open Windows Media Center, and then watch videos, listen to music, etc..  Media Center to close and lock my computer.  Then immediately after, I unlock the computer, the message is displayed.
    2. I have block my computer, then unlock it then (I can do this as many times I love him without the following message is displayed).  As soon as I open Media Center the message appears.

That there seems to be a problem in lsass.exe or ntdll.dll I pulled copies of my installation disc and ran a MD5 checksum by comparing those in C:\Windows\System32 for those from the installation disc.  There is no difference between them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, the problem seems to have fixed itself automagically.  I do not even install Windows updates except for the regular update of Windows Defender.

The problem is not just in the programs, sometimes it does allover, without nothing open.

I had the motherboard changed twice by Lenovo, but that did not help.
After the first time, the problem disappeared, but returned in a month.

Right now the computer is running XP and the problem has not been their yet.

  • 4 "other unknown devices" in Device Manager. Windows 7 RTM 64 dv7 1450

Just bought a computer HP dv7-1450 laptop with AMD Turion X 2 64 processors. Installed Windows 7 RTM 64 and everything seems to work except there are 4 unknown "other devices" listed in Device Manager. The 4 devices are:

    -System base unit (x 3)

    -Unknown Device (x 1)

I have no idea what are these devices. I tried looking for drivers for chipset on the AMD and HP Web site without result. But I do not know if these are the associated chipsets. One of the devices would be the disk fall sensor hard (it does not appear in the device no matter where Manager)?

Unfortunately on the HP site, there are not many downloads of drivers available for the 64-bit (Vista). I know that Windows 7 64 drivers won't be available until in October, but if there are not any available Vista drivers either, I expect to see all the drivers for Windows 7?

The most important thing for me is just to know what are these "other devices" 4 and get the drivers installed.

    Thanks in advance!

I installed Windows 7 RTM on my HP TX2000 and everything went well, except for a missing 'coprocessor' driver. I did a little research and found several posts that seem to indicate that I need to install one of the Vista 64 drivers manually. Is there a new driver for Windows 7? Is there another driver, I can use?

    Hello

I think that at the moment you can't do anything. Windows 7 is not released yet and also no drivers or utilities. You must understand that you need to wait a few more weeks because after the release of Windows 7 tools and drivers must be pre-tested.

If some Vista drivers or tools work on Windows 7 it s nice, but if not you can do nothing.
