Windows 7 RTM SCSI controller?

For the controller SCSI will not work for the RTM now.

Hello

The configuration of your virtual machine seems OK to me, but there are 2 things in your log file that stand out for me.

The first is a CPU hard reset directly after LSI SAS controller virtual is initialized, but it is may be normal.

Then, your paper has a large number of these lines:

Jul 30 08:37:28.383: vmx| CDROM ide1:0: CMD 0x28 (READ(10)) FAILED (key 0x2 asc 0x30 ascq 0)
Jul 30 08:37:28.383: vmx| VIDE: ATAPI 0x28 Failed: key 0x2, asc 0x30, ascq 0x0
Jul 30 08:37:28.384: vmx| CDROM-LIN: readv(/dev/scd0) failed: Read beyond the end of file (9).
Jul 30 08:37:28.384: vmx| CDROM ide1:0: CMD 0x28 (READ(10)) FAILED (key 0x2 asc 0x30 ascq 0)

that seems to me suggest that your download of Windows 7 RTM was not 100% successful.

Have you checked the checksum of this disc?

Adaptec would write drivers for their hardware. If Adaptec has drivers for Vista or XP 64 bit for this card, they could work. the 32-bit drivers won't work. What is the best way to solve this problem? I need to copy the drivers from the physical server?

    Thanks in advance,

If the disk controller type see you in the settings of the virtual machine is IDE, check out http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1016192.

Another option is to choose the type of controller in the converter, when it comes to hardware.

  • Get the PCI slot for a virtual SCSI controller number?

Is it possible to retrieve the number of a virtual SCSI controller for PowerCLI PCI slot?  I dug everywhere but I can't find anywhere in ExtensionData SCSI controllers and hard disks.

I would like to use to correlate VMDK disks Windows because all the scripts I found goes off a hypothesis on how devices assigned one PCI slots, and in my conclusions, these assumptions are not 100% reliable.

I checked the properties of both of these items with no luck:

    $VirtualSCSIAdapters = $VMView.Config.Hardware.Device | Where-Object {$_.} DeviceInfo.Label - match "SCSI controller"}

    $VirtualDiskDevices = $VMView.Config.Hardware.Device | Where-Object {$_.} DeviceInfo.Label - match 'Hard drive'}

Make sure you have scsi paravirtualized drivers installed on the client, otherwise it won't know how to join his drive.

They are available in a disk image in the floppies/vmimages/directory on a host computer.

  • Linked Clones and SCSI controller

I created an automated linked clone pool that points to a virtual machine Windows XP parent. I used the parallel LSI Logic Controller and the value of the SCSI disk (0:0). The problem is, after the pool is created, when the user connects, they invited to a username and password with this message "you must be member of the Administrators group on this computer to install this equipment. SCSI controller.

I don't do our domain users members of the local Administrators group, so this creates a big problem.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Mike

    Please perform following steps.

    -----------------------------------------

    • Create a new virtual machine with custom SCSI controller. (Keep floppy drive configuration)
    • Extract the downloaded driver symmpi_wXP_1201800.zip (version 1.28.03)
    • The driver disk image can be by editing the VM, floppy.
    • Start the installation of Windows XP, press F6 when request and then point to the driver on the floppy drive
    • Continue and finish the installation.
    • Now to use this virtual machine as a VM parent, and it should solve your problem
  • Persistent drives and SCSI controller

    Hey all,.

I was going through some threads and one of them has been reading and someone made the comment... "If you use persistent labels DO NOT change the default SCSI controller as this would cause headaches down the road when recomposition, refreshing, etc..".

I didn't want to hijack this thread so I thought I'd make a new... Did someone knows if this comment is supposed to mean, when creating a Windows XP VM, leave it on the BusLogic controller if you plan to rebuild/refresh? Everything I could find documentation suggests to use the LSI controller.

I'm about to deploy some linked clones, so before you do my model, it would be good to know.

    Mike

When creating virtual from Windows XP-based computer, you can create using IDE or SCSI virtual computer, and even the two types of SCSI controllers. You may need to provide the necessary for installing driver, but changing the default SCSI controller type defenitely will not affect any operation of maintenance as recompose, rebalancing and refreshment.

  • LSI Logic SCSI controller, how will I know if I use it?

I read in the 4.5 Administrator's guide view that they suggest that you use the LSI Logic SCSI so adapter when configuring the virtual machine, I chose "Custom" and LSI Logic parallel for the SCSI controller and the installation of XP, I did the steps "F6" then "S" and made him a floppy image, I created on the site of LSI and the driver appeared as "LSI Logic PCI Fusion-MPT Driver (XP 32 - bit).  Everything went very well with the installation but I don't see a SCSI adapter that is listed in the Windows Device Manager and in the virtual machine's .vmx file, I open in Wordpad does not from there. I also checked the settings of the virtual machine when he was running down and do not see a SCSI card that there are listed be?

But in the virtual machine settings, I do not see a SCSI LSI controller.

You must use SCSI drives instead of IDE disks.

  • 4 "other unknown devices" in Device Manager. Windows 7 RTM 64 dv7 1450

Just bought a computer HP dv7-1450 laptop with AMD Turion X 2 64 processors. Installed Windows 7 RTM 64 and everything seems to work except there are 4 unknown "other devices" listed in Device Manager. The 4 devices are:

    -System base unit (x 3)

    -Unknown Device (x 1)

I have no idea what are these devices. I tried looking for drivers for chipset on the AMD and HP Web site without result. But I do not know if these are the associated chipsets. One of the devices would be the disk fall sensor hard (it does not appear in the device no matter where Manager)?

Unfortunately on the HP site, there are not many downloads of drivers available for the 64-bit (Vista). I know that Windows 7 64 drivers won't be available until in October, but if there are not any available Vista drivers either, I expect to see all the drivers for Windows 7?

The most important thing for me is just to know what are these "other devices" 4 and get the drivers installed.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Driver missing in Windows 7 RTM TX2000 coprocessor

I installed Windows 7 RTM on my HP TX2000 and everything went well, except for a missing 'coprocessor' driver. I did a little research and found several posts that seem to indicate that I need to install one of the Vista 64 drivers manually. I downloaded, extracted, then tried each sets pilot but Device Manager reports it found no compatible driver.

Is there a new driver for Windows 7? Is there another driver, I can use?

I finally found the missing driver by a link in another post here.

  • No sound on Portege R500 using Windows 7 RTM

    Hi all

I have the problem of sound with Windows 7 RTM. No sound playback, the microphone works very well and the control panel > hardware and sound > Realtek HD Audio Manager detects whenever a microphone or headset is (UN) plugged.

Any driver I install and no matter as the playback source (sound system, Media Player, Winamp and others), there is no playback of the sound on the speakers or the headphones. The last I installed Realtek R2.31 is.

I start to wonder if what happens to be fixed, after all, Windows 7 is to go gold and there is no solution for this problem.

    Hello Paulo

If you see this section of Win7 you will find a lot of comments but a general message is: Win7 is not published official and drivers Toshiba doesn't offer WIN7 at the moment. When the Win7's official published Toshiba will start Win7 support, and I hope that your Portege will also build.

This means that Toshiba will offer drivers Win7 on Toshiba download page. These drivers will be tested and it should work properly. Now on US Toshiba support page you can download some drivers Win7 BETA (untested). If you want to check under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp
