Windows 7 search will not search for other drives
For some reason, in the Start Menu search not will locate anything on the other drives other than the C drive. No matter how many times I have re - indexing other readers (they are internal, by the way), it is not visible all of him. I tried to run the repair program and I tried to install the patch (which has not installed). The repair program did that of the Nations United-index the hard drive, I wanted to have index.
I use Windows 7 Professional 64 - Bit. Here are the patches I've already tried:
http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_search/
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/977380
I have not tried the registry change in the second link, but I don't really know what it could do for me at this point. So far I used Google Desktop since that actually works, but apparently it is no longer supported by Google. In addition, I prefer not having to deal with another program constantly running in the background.

I am trying to transfer my files to my new laptop with Windows 7 for my old laptop with Windows XP Professional, using the Windows Easy Transfer, that I found on my old laptop. I tried to make the transfer through my home wireless network and when that did not work... I connected the two laptops with a cable (the same style of cable, used to connect his computer to a modem or router, not a cable SSB).
So in summary, I just want to transfer all my files from my old laptop to my new laptop. I copied the master file of my data from my old laptop on a "stick" assuming that I could download just to stick to the new laptop. (I have a lot of "sticks" here.) The idea did not work, of course, results otherwise wouldn't ask this question now.
If you had previously copied simply data (documents folders) via a key files should be no problem during the copying of that stick to the library on win7 locations, and is there's this which is exactly the err MSG?

OP: Window Movie Maker will not import an mp3 file. Why?
I tried to imort a song from my music file which is in mp3 format, but the program won't. She won't tell me why, it just says: "C: {file location} .mp3 cannot be imported." I imported 2 other songs that are the same exact format. Why is it cant import the file?
Hello spardigus,
1 - is the full error you get when you try to import the file?
Some of the Mp3 files can be compressed in various formats. I suggest that you search information below and check out them if you are able to import the files.
It might be possible that the file may be corrupted and is not readable by Movie Maker. I suggest that you copy the file to a different location on your computer and you are trying to import.
Also check the size of the file. If it shows 0 bytes, there are good chances that the file may be damaged.
I suggest that you try to convert this file to avi format using an Audio Converter. There are several converters which helps you convert the file in the required format. Convert the file and try to import.
You can use your favorite search engine to find the program that will help convert the files.
