Windows 7 sound recorder

I have 2 USB microphones and I want to use both at the same time by using Windows 7 Sound Recorder software. How can I do?

Hello Paul,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Windows does not give you an opportunity to have two recorders at the same time. If you want to record the sound using two microphones, in Windows 7, it is possible to set a single default device (Microphone) at some point of time.

Only some specialized software such as third party software that can help you to set up and use two recording devices. You can use your favorite search engine and search for the software to achieve this. Third party software warning: using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

If you want two different microphones to record sound at the same time, then there is a connection adapter used to record with two devices in windows 7. These connectors / device sharing
help you in recording of two different microphones as in the registration of theatres or radio stations.

Hope this information helps. Please return back incase of some Windows-related issues.

  • How to get Windows 7 Sound Recorder to record audio from the computer?

I team with my boss and another customer meetings and we want their registered and we use phone calls from Gmail which means that audio is delivered directly through the internet, and Sound Recorder, I found out but I can't record audio only regular computer unless I Plug one wire in the headphone jack that goes to the mic socket who made the impossible phone call since taking mic is already taken.

I saw in Windows help can I change the source to be recorded, but it lists only microphones (one built into my laptop is default).

Is there a way to change the entry from the audio recording of the computer?

My alternative is to find a cable between the MIC and the sound output in order to hear, speak and record at the same time, which I have never seen elsewhere.

I also do this all the time.  All what I have to do to set up the computer for that is: -.

Control Panel, [view by - small icons, if necessary], Sound, recording tab, set Rec. reading * as default device

[* the name of your topic in the recording tab may be different - you just choose the entry that is not a micro device]

Sound recorder will then record sounds coming through the computer.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

If I ever want to record from the microphone, I need to reverse the above setting by:

Control Panel, [view by - small icons, if necessary], Sound, recording tab, set the internal mic as default device

Sound recorder will then record sounds coming through the microphone.

  • Windows XP Sound Recorder [sndrec32.exe] in Windows 7 64 bit?

Utility tape recorder for Windows XP [sndrec32.exe] works in Windows 7 64 bit?

The reason I ask: under XP, I use sound recorder to audition small sound files for possible use as system sounds. No sense to launch a 'real' drive just to play a .wav of 2 seconds.

I know I could use the control panel of sounds and Audio for this (on XP) devices. But it's so convenient to the tape recorder on the Office Park and then drag and drop dozens of files .wav on it.

The sound recorder in Windows 7 utility seems to be on the recording of the sounds, not to play them.

XMPlay is a great and very light .wav player. It starts almost instantly. XMPlay is now my default .wav player replacing Sound Recorder (sndrec32.exe) in earlier versions of Windows. (XMPlay plays too, other formats, including video.)

  • Recording and clip files wav in sound recorder in Windows 7.

I'm doing the wave files and fix them. I used to be able to do this with the sound recorderin WinXP, now I can not in Win7. Is there a way to get the XP a return or to change the Win7 to do what I need it to do?

    Thank you!

    Hi Amanda,.

In Windows 7 sound recorder is intended only for end of record. You cannot change the songs in sound recorder. You will have to go to his editing for this effect of third party software. You can take deadmanwalking86 into account recommendation.

  • Sound recorder - record length

Length of default sound recorder is 60 seconds. How can I change? (Windows XP Home SP3)

Fortunately, Microsoft has removed the limit of 60 seconds in the version Windows 7 sound recorder. For XP, you save a file of 60 seconds, and then import them, which allows you to have 120 seconds. Then repeat this step to get a file any longer. Microsoft details the steps detailed here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/82215

  • set the default recording time in windows sound recorder

Looking for a way to increase the default value to the recording of the sounds found in XP home recorder.  There is no documentation that I can find to the configuration

    Hello

In the default recorder recording time is 60 seconds. There is a solution to increase the maximum recording time. Follow the steps mentioned below:

    Step 1:
    a. utility start Sound recorder.
    b. click on save and then Sound Recorder run for 60 seconds.
    c. once the sound recorder to stop recording, click Save as on the file menu, and name the file Blank.wav.
    d. in order to increase the maximum duration of recording in sound recorder, click Insert a file in the Edit menu, and then insert the Blank.wav file saved in step 3. When you do this,
the maximum recording time is increased by 60 seconds. You can repeat this step once for each additional minute recording that you want to add. For example, for 5 minutes
recording time, insert the Blank.wav file five times.

    Step 2:
To make the tape recorder automatically use the extended length of the recording time:
    a. Click Start and then click Open.
    b. double-click the programs folder.
    c. double-click the Accessories folder.
    d. double-click the multimedia file or entertainment.
    e. right - click sound recorder and then click Properties.
    f. click on the shortcut tab.
    g. in the target box, press END, press the SPACEBAR and type the location of the file Blank.wav.

For example, if the target is 'C:\Windows\sndrec32.exe', and the location of the Blank.wav file isC:\Blank.wav, the new line in the target box is "C:\Windows\sndrec32.exe C:\Blank.wav"

The next time that you start the tape recorder, the Blank.wav file opens automatically. After you save your new .wav file, you can click on remove after the current Position in the Edit menu for
Remove the extra space in the file.

NOTE: when you have finished recording and editing of your new .wav file, save the file with a new file name.

    Hi Martin2222222,

If you weren't able to save the recorded sound before you receive the error message, I'm afraid, you can't retrieve the recorded sound.
