Windows 7 SSD optimization option

Hello

I am currently looking for an option to optimize my SSD on Windows 7. I've already activated TRIM, but I can't see the option to optimize my SSD as in Windows 8.1 / 10 Windows using the built-in disk Optimizer program because it only shows the option to defrag on Windows 7 which is a waste to an SSD. Is there a way to manually optimize my SSD in Windows 7? Just as in Windows 8.1/10 with the disk assistant program?

I use this guide

Optimize Windows for SSDS

If you are looking for a program similar to the Disk Defragmenter Optimization in windows 10

the only program that give you some

as normal for HDD defrag & optimize for SSD for windows 7 is Defraggler

If you have a problems of degradation of SSD

(basically, you feel that your SSD is slow)

I follow this simple guide to correctly formatted for one SSD

Best way format and start a new? M4 SSD

If you have a Crucial SSD, you can download

Executive Storage tool crucial download

interest to date your SSD firmware

BTW is also comptabiles for windows 10

If you do not have a Crucial SSD

Check with your manufacturer SSD

I'm sure they have their specific SSD Executive tool download

.

This is what I got... !!

My installation disc for windows vista has an option "fix." This option allows to reset lost passwords? If yes how?

    Hi Martine regina,.

We will not be able to reset the password by using the option repair; you will need password reset disk.

For more information on the same, you can check the link below:

  • "Import pictures and videos using Windows Live Photo Gallery" option is missing from AutoPlay in Windows 7 64 bit

I saw this question and answer:

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7files/thread/5c567ab1-208D-400D-9bce-0598d43a0574

but I think I have a more serious problem. In Windows 7 RC, when I plugged in my camera or insert a memory card, I could choose "import pictures and videos using Windows Live Photo Gallery", but in my new installation of Windows 7 RTM, on which I have installed Windows Live Photo Gallery, there is no "Import pictures and videos using Windows Live Photo Gallery" option allotted me in the list of Control Panel AutoPlay or on the AutoPlay pop-up that appears when I plug in a camera.

How can I get that back? Without this option, I have to go through the manual steps tedious to execute WLPG and manually choose to import from there and say what is my camera. It was much better under Vista and Win7RC when I had the simple auto play option.

My PC is running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, but I also installed WLPG on two new computers Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit my parents, and they have exactly the same problem. Is this a known bug? Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

    Hello bitoclass,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers Site.

  • No import Windows XP Mode VM-option in the file menu?

    Hello

in this forum I read that there should be an "import Windows XP Mode VM" - option in the file menu if the Windows XP Mode is installed.

But I installed XP Mode W AFTER VMw Player. Later, I tried a repair of VMw Player and later a de - and reinstall to see if the option appeared then - but no.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get the option to appear - or should I just create a virtual machine from a XP pro CD?

  • Missing under Advanced menu PDF Optimization option

    Hello

I use Acrobat 9.4.  I am aware that the PDF Optimizer option is under advanced at the top menu.  However, this option seems to have disappeared.  By the Adobe Help file, I'm looking in the right place, but the option has disappeared.

Is there a way to recover this option?  I searched Google and found someone with the same problem on another forum but no answers have been posted.

If you run Std, then I don't think that option is available. You must specify the version of Acrobat you are using, not only was the level number. That is, Std, Pro, or Pro Extended.

  • Transfer files in Windows HDD/SSD

Hello everyone I am facing a problem.

I bought windows 7 and this computer 2 years ago and I decided to update. I recently bought a load of new parts, but I want to use some parts of this computer. (trying to build my new)

in any case, I want to keep my computer hard drives and put them in my new but I want windows 7 must be installed on a 150 GB SSD so, how would I install windows 7 on my SSD and keep the other drives as storage for my games and applications.

I don't want to buy 7 once again so is anyway I can transfer my SSD? I still have my drive in windows 7 if that helps.

    How can I do this?

Recap: My SSD has windows 7 top and NOTHING ELSE. The other hard disks should be used for storage.

The 1st point is it depends on what is included in these "new parts charge" and the type of license.

If your current license is an OEM version and the parties includes a new motherboard, then you will need to purchase a new license. The main constraint of the OEM license is that it can be installed on a computer and has no right to transfer. In terms of Microsoft, the computer is defined as the motherboard so new motherboard = no transfer OEM. Read the COA label and try to identify what type of license you have.

If you have a retail license, which is very good, all you need is the license key and the Windows 7 DVD.

Design the computer with the new installed SSD. Do not mount the drives former until the installation is complete and fully updated; Demarrer start from the DVD, follow the instructions and install Windows 7. Install the necessary drivers as a result of the new hardware, and let Windows 7 update.

Once fully up-to-date connect old disks and make sure that they are detected by the BIOS as a secondary drive. You can concatenate all the files on a disc and the format and the other test.

You can not just move some directories on another drive, for example: \Program files must remain on the startup disk. Instead of creating a new Program Files directory on the secondary disk and when you run the installation program for your look of programs for an "Advanced" or "Custom" option to set the location of the programs to install.

Profile user such as Documents, music etc folders have a location tab in their properties to allow you to move these stores on a different disk.

  • Window on ssd

Hello. recently, I bought a new ssd intel! I want to install window 8 on it, but I'm not succeeded in this... someone can help me or tell me how to do it, please give me a chance to say thank you to you

Windows 8 came preinstalled on your computer or the purchased license separately.

If it is preinstalled on your computer, create a recovery drive:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-USB-recovery-drive

If your purchased a license for Windows 8 download separately and create, refresh and reset the media.

You can use these options to reinstall Windows 8 on your new SSD.

  • Firefox only displays not the complete its preferences window; Why the low option is partially hidden

Row of the bottom of the Preferences tab windows displays only partially. Well... it's weird... when I opened the preferences window, (to describe correctly the question) and switches between the last row of buttons (tabs, content, etc.), all of the options and then displayed. I wish I had done a screen shot earlier. Actually, it happened... honest!

You can resize the window by dragging the borders?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • TripAdvisor opens a window, even if the option to open tabs is defined

I have the option to open links in a new tab rather than a new window. This seems to work perfectly except in a situation. TripAdvisor is often open a new window on 'appropriate other hotels', always hidden behind other windows, the only indication is the icon on the taskbar. This window opens on its own, not directly because of my actions, at least not because I clicked on a link. If I do not spot the taskbar icon and close the main window of Firefox first then the Tripadvisor window becomes the default and load at next startup. Fortunately I find all my other tabs on recently closed windows, but it's a hassle.

How does Tripadvisor for this, in contradiction with the options, and when everything seems to follow the third party? Is it because it "opens"? It can be stopped?

By default, Firefox diverts most of the links that open in new windows and the automatic pop-up windows in a new tab. However, if the pop-up specifies size or changes the toolbars are displayed, Firefox is different on the site as well as where it's a dialog box associated with the page, it appears as expected.

You can force Firefox to treat all the same pop-up windows, they have these feature or not. This requires a visit in the topic: configuration preferences editor. My apologies for what will seem like too much details, but there are 3 related settings if I want a list of the people together.

In a new tab, type or paste Subject: config and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

In the filter box, type or paste link.o and make a pause so that the list is filtered.

Double-click to change the values as you wish (in particular the other one):

    (A) browser.link.open_newwindow

3 = divert new window to a new tab (default) (checked *)

2 = allow the link to open a new window (uncontrolled *)

1 = new power window in the same tab

    * First check box in the Options > tabs

    (B) browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction -for links in Firefox tabs

0 = apply the setting under (A) to all new windows (same script)

2 = apply the setting under (A) for normal windows, but NOT for windows script with characteristics (default)

1 = override the setting under (A) and always use new windows

    (C) browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external -for links in other programs

-1 = apply the setting under (A) external links (default)

3 = open external links in a new tab in the last active window

2 = open external links in a new window

1 = open external links in the last active tab replaces the current page

    You can tame the popups?

  • Tecra R940 with Windows 7 SSD boot failure

My company bought laptop computers Tecra R940 and replace the HDD with Kingston SSDNow v + 200 V + 120 GB SSD drives. On a test after installing the SSD device, the laptop was rebuilt with our brand image (Windows 7 x 64) that has successfully completed.

Update post however a number of issues is apparent:

1 occasionally during a restart, the laptop will display and then hang at 'starting windows' screen for the Windows logo animation appear and with the light of the hard drive continuously. After a period of time that a Windows recovery is attempted and, possibly, a reported error:

    Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: An unexpected i/o error has occurred

This problem will not occur at every startup, but once every 2 or 3.

    2. the following error message is logged in the Windows system log

    Source: ATAPI
    Event ID: 11
Description: The driver detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort0

I have tried the following to resolve the problem:

    1. update the R940 BIOS to the latest available (6.40).
    2. has confirmed that the BIOS SATA Controller is set to AHCI.
    3. not confirmed there are no available SSD drive firmware update.
    4. install the latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver of Toshiba (11.0.0.1032).
5 tried different SSD. Same errors identified, so not a faulty SSD.
6 tried the SSD in a Toshiba Portege R930. In this case the mistakes above are not apparent.
7 reinstall the original HARD disk. In this case the mistakes above are not apparent.
8A confirmed a 2nd unit (with installed SSD) logs the same event ID 11.

My tests left me at a point where I think that there is something bad at the end of R940 with a hardware or software that does not like the SSD.

If someone has solved a similar problem or have thoughts on fixing this?

    Thank you in advance.

Specific installation of corporate images are always full of risks, and quite often, there are different problems. As much as I know in the past Toshiba has created special images of recovery for some companies who ordered a specific number of booklets for employees.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but I would like to know if you have tried to install own OS Win7 using the original disk of Microsoft.

I mean that it must be possible to install Win7 clean on the new laptop models. I tested it on my U940 satellite and it works well. I had some trouble with Toshiba specific stuff (tools and utilities), but it was not so important and work with Win7 was possible in any case.
