Yes, you will have to redo the Express Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade.

The first thing you need to do is to get your Windows 7 Ultimate Anytime Upgrade key:

An e-mail containing your product key will be sent to the e-mail address associated with your Windows Live ID account or e-mail address you provided if you ignored the account configuration. Note: If you use an email tool or spam blocker spam filter, be sure that you can receive e-mail messages from microsoft.com.

What happens if I lose my product key?

If you lose your product key, you can return to

www.Windows7.com/GetKey and sign in using the "Sign In" link in the upper right of the page. This will allow to recover your product key if you have established your account with your Windows Live ID. If you do not configure a Windows Live ID account initially there is no record of your online product key. Check your e-mail since it is the only trace of your product key.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. Probably, you need to boot in the BIOS of the computer and changed on the hard drive in IDE mode, SATA, so it can be recognized by Windows XP.

Before that you plan to replace Windows 7 with Windows XP. Have you tried to familiarize yourself with the operating system first?

  • WANT to m6: Windows Update taking a long time

My laptop recently had an update waiting for a 'new feature windows 10', I decided to update by clicking on update and close. Once that the screen says of things such as the update of preparation and installation of update.
Then a black screen pops up and had a white buffering the symbol on the bottom, similar to the start, but without the hp logo screen. Since the update, my laptop has slept on this screen for about 30 hours now, with the buffering continuous symbol.
Is this normal? Is there a possible way to speed up the process?

  • Why Windows Update taking so long?

Well then I have just updated to Windows XP to Windows Vista, I tried to update my system using windows update. And it was 'Check updates' for a few hours now. Why it takes so long? I mean, the last time I checked, there were only 7 updates for me.

First, configure the system to boot - How to solve a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista
NOTE: If a 3rd party firewall was used, including one installed with a security suite, open Windows Firewall in Control Panel and make sure that the native Vista firewall is now on. No 3rd party firewall will be executed in the State of clean boot.

Then, go here, please download and Save the Fixit - How to reset the Windows Update components

With all the programs and browsers closed, run MicrosoftFixit50202.msi and choose aggressive mode. Turn it back on when he finished the race.

  • Set to automatic update taking too long

I just bought a new gateway computer that has Microsoft 7 Home Premium yesterday. Last night, he had 12 automatic updates which was fine. Today, he says have 26 and was killed on 15 for 9 hours. It seems that there is a problem, but I'm not sure what to do as he says don't not to turn it off. What is going on? I've never had this problem with any of my other computers I've had.

When you do the initial update of a new facility, it often takes more than a tour through windows update to get all the fixes.

Of course, it's stuck on one.

    • Out of the update, worst case, simply turn off the unit.
    • Restart,
    • go to Windows Update,
    • find the update history.
    • Find the last update failed.
    • Double-click it to see the details. Bad to shoot the problem, there are often links to possible solutions
    • repetition of windows update scan. This limits the number of updates that you apply. Start with just one failed,
    • Once you have passed a casusing worth, take a small subset of those available to the general public
    • Let repeateing until you can do a couple of update scans and finds nothing
    • After getting updates all enforce a copy backup of the complete picture of your computer so that you have a known good point to restore that would not force all these fixes again.
