Windows 7 tells me I need permission from remove me a file

I'm trying to remove the Program Files folder and the Windows folder from a hard disk which I have not started.  I do this from a Windows 7 machine.  The I'm trying to delete files come from the hdd to boot a Vista where I want to delete all the folders and copy backup it from a I have before inserting the disc newly restored in the Vista machine.  Win7 denies my request to delete these files.  I took possession of containers under folders and files.  I changed the permissions so that I have total control.  I even changed owner to anyone and has kept everyone full control.  Even after doing all this Win7 still tells me:

You need permission to perform this action
You need permission to everyone to make changes to this file
Program Files
Creation date: 11/02/2006-11:18

And gives me the option to retry or cancel

It is extremely frustrating and probably a huge bug in Windows.  If I try again I get just repeated the same message.

I am an administrator still this OS will not let me run!

Does anyone have any suggestions?  I need to keep intact boot sector - everything that I want to do is to copy a backup of my system files on this drive so that I can start my computer Vista again.

Thank you very much.

Hello

Here you mentioned the hard drive and if you think it's the hard drive, then my first suggestion would be to show the hidden files and folders.

Here's how to display the hidden files and folders.

a. open the Options folder by clicking on the button start the picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.

b. click on the view tab.

c. under Advanced settings, click Show files, folders and drives, and then click OK.

See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Show-hidden-files

Now, perform the following steps:

Step 1:

Delete files using Disk Cleanup

Step 2:

a. click windows orb
b. type cmd in the search box
c. right-click on cmd in the results menu and click on run as administrator
d. command windows opens, must be in the directory c:\windows\system32
e. go to c:\ do what type cd... until you reach c:\
f. navigate to the directory where the file to be deleted. example c:\windows.old\users
g. type rd/s (directory name)
h. will get quickly delete y/n type y and press enter

After successful removal, you can check the windows Explorer and see that the file is missing.

Example, I have a directory on my c drive named windows.old, under windows.old that I have a user directory and then several subdirectories, 1 directory happens to be named bill. For some reason any windows can not find this place and will not delete the folder. I then who follow the previous steps and remove this directory.

This is perfectly normal.  By design, even administrative accounts do not roll with full administrative privileges at all times.  This is one of the most important security features of Windows 7, called User Account Control (UAC).  It helps to ensure that, when running as administrator, nothing can "sneak by" and changes to the system that the user is not aware.

  • Need help from blackBerry Smartphones: send files via Bluetooth for my Curve 8900

    Hi all

Earlier this week, I made the change to a BB and overall I am very happy with it, but there is a thing that is annoying on the phone and despite my efforts and a lot of tinkering, I was not able to solve this problem, I'm looking for help.

I try to send files to other Bluetooth devices to my BB 8900 and I can't do work of t. strangely, I can send my BB files to other Bluetooth devices with no problems but I can't send things on my device.

    I lived the articles (e.g. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB04132&slic... )

    but in vain.

In a nut shell, I enabled bluetooth on my camera, I made detectable and combined with other devices that I am trying to transfer files from, I went into options of the terminal for these devices and their confidence, and then I tried to send files.

If I send from another phone (LG viewty) or Nokia E61i, I get an error message indicating that "send failed".

If I send a computer that was paired, I select the file I want to send > right click > sent to > Bluetooth > other and select my BB8900 in the list of paired devices. At this point, the computer appears to try to send the file, but I am presented with an error message indicating "file transfer Service is not found on device BB8900."

Why is this? How do I am able to send files to my BB 8900 but not sent to it, and what can I do to solve this problem?

This problem is causing me a lot of grief that I have given on other phones, I need to transfer to my new BB, unfortunately I do not have a USB cable to one of the phones, so Bluetooth is the best alternative.

    Please can someone help!

  • Need permission to administrators when logged in as an administrator to delete a file in Windows 8

I have a laptop Windows 8, which I shared with my daughter. We had separate user accounts. Mine was an administrator account, hers was not the case. I recently bought him his own laptop and tried to delete his account on my laptop. I did it by going to user accounts in Control Panel and remove it. The delete process has worked but left his user account folder (c:\users\account_name). I tried to remove it, but I was told that I needed permission from administrators to exercise this function, even if mine was an administrator account. I followed the instructions of kb2623670 and that did not help. I noticed that the file was marked read-only. When I tried to deselect, told me I need administrator privileges to change the attribute. I clicked on OK to confirm and received a message saying:

An error occurred applying attributes to the file:

    \AppData\Roaming\...\Librariesaccount_nameC:\Users\

    Access is denied.

I then logged in as an administrator and tried to delete the file and got the same result. On the Security tab, I noticed that administrator and administrators (Group) have been listed separately, and this one was the owner of the folder. Then, I clicked on the Advanced button and changed the owner of the Administrators group on the administrator account just to confirm that this was not the issue. I tried to delete that file, and again did not. Then I navigated to the subfolder of low level libraries and tried to change the read-only attribute. I got the same error. I then clicked on the Security tab and saw 'you must have read permissions to view the properties of this object. Click Advanced to continue. "I clicked on the button advanced and got"you must have read permissions to view the properties of this object. Click on continue to retry the operation with administrative permissions. "I click on the button continue and got"you don't have permission to view the security properties of this object, even as an administrator. To try to take possession of the object, which includes permission to view its properties, click on change above. "There is no change button. There are only 3 tabs: permissions (which displays the message that I have just mentioned), sharing and effective access (which contains the same message on the permissions tab). I went to the user_name folder and in the advanced security properties selected the option "replace all entries authorization child object with entries permissions inheritable of this object." When I clicked on apply and then Yes on the confirmation message after, I got an error that says "could not enumerate the objects in the container. Access is denied. »

Is it possible to remove this folder, or even as an administrator there are things we can not do in Windows 8?

    Hello

You can deal with this problem because of changes in the Windows authorization by virus or by a third party antivirus.  Follow these methods and check:

Method 1: You can try to disable user account control, follow these steps:

    1. open user accounts by pressing the Windows key + X, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety, and then clicking user accounts.

    2. click on Turn User Account Control on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. Select the use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box to turn on UAC, or clear the checkbox to disable UAC, and then click OK.

Warning: User Account Control (UAC) can help prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. It works by asking permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings affecting other users. We do not recommend disable user account control. If you turn it off, you must reactivate as soon as possible.

Method 2: Because of the additional security mechanism 8 Windows, you might face this problem of permission. So if you need to access, appropriate drive and assign rights or permission to drive.

Here's the guide on how to take ownership and grant permission window 8.

"Access denied" or other errors in the access to or work with files and

    folders in Windows

Method 3: I suggest you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software. The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Also refer to this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/how-find-remove-virus

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Warning: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

I hope this helps. If you need help with Windows, let us know and will be happy to help you.

  • Uninstall Ad-Aware problems and who need 'permission' to delete its folder

I have Windows Vista SP2; Internet Explorer 9, automatic update on everything.  I tried to uninstall lavasoft Ad-Aware since I have Microsoft Security Essentials and should not have 2 antivirus programs face.  Lavasoft using "Uninstall" and then restart, I discovered that nothing was missing.  So I have one of the 2 programs removed manually in Control Panel.  When I tried to removong the other.  a small window pops up telli me "this action is only valid for products that are currently installed"!   Overall the program is STILL in my computer, so I tried to delete the entire folder (must have 1000 files!), but pops up a window saying that I need permission to remove these!  I'm way over my head get "approval" when I do not understand how to explain all the advice and rules;  Looks like gobbledygook!  Can someone walk me through eliminating the files in the folder (can it be done in 1 shot?) and uninstalling this stubborn program?  Right now (03:14) I'm willing to give just straight up, but don't not before giving up hope someone will come again to my rescue!  Thanks for the help!

I guess that Ad-Aware is always on the list under programs and features?
And I can assume that you tried to uninstall by clicking and clicking on uninstall?

    Hi the prey,

    ·         What is the brand and model of the computer?

You should check the settings of the computer BIOS (Basic Input\Output System) to boot from the CD/DVD. Check the manual or the support of the computer Web site for the same.

Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.
