Windows 7 upgrade for a computer originally installed

Hello

When I tried to order a kit of windows 7 to upgrade my laptop Pavilion dv6 1215, I met the following message appears:

"Our database Specifies an upgrade of windows 7 to a computer installed with vista premium.

What it means? It sounds a special program, already installed on my windows vista original? Or I can install the coresponding windows version 7 with the same product key that vist, labeled on the back?

Disk upgrade upgrades the preinstalled operating system from Vista to Windows 7. However if subsequently, you need to reinstall Windows 7, you will have to restart with Vista and then rerun the upgrade. Don't forget to make your Vista Recovery before moving to Win 7.

Best option in my opinion made an Image of hard drive after installing Win 7, to easily restore it later without having to start with Vista. Useful video HERE

  • Failed Windows 7 upgrade - now my computer does not start - what do I do?

I tried to upgrade to Windows Vista 64 for Windows 7 64.  During installation to 75% of the last step, the computer "hung up" for hours.  I abandoned the installation to fail.  Have no idea why it does not have since I ran the compatibility test, deleted all the programs of conficting, anti-virus, etc.

Now, I can't get the computer to boot.  I tried to go the last good start with Vista 64 and the operation failed.  I also tried a variety of corrections that are posted on several forums.  All I can get is a continuous loop of the attempts to start (for example. Windows - Vista - HP diagnoistics of screen - screen black screen prompts - and then he repeats)

Without success, I tried to do a system restore - which also failed.  Any suggestions on how I can recover the system and try the upgrade again?

  • Windows 10 upgrade for users of Windows 8?

I use Windows 8 SL, in order to book the upgrade, I first have to upgrade to Win 8.1 SL and then I will be able to book the upgrade, is there a way by which I can book directly updated since my 8 SL victory because it is absurd to first download 3.2 GB win 8.1 and windows, then 10 , its just not going to lose my data.

If there is a solution for this, please advise.

You must be on win 8.1 upgrade to win 10

There is no need to "reserve" anything.  This is purely marketing share MS to "encourage" users upgrade.  They will be happy to pass any OS eligible in the first year for free, and it will remain free for the life of the device when it was released on July 29

You win nothing in 'reserve' other that what gives Microsoft an email address for you spam to.  You won't get it any earlier, or there will be no other benefits.  In FACT, if you book, you can get later, as explained in this statement of Microsoft
Once windows is available, some notifications will happen as soon as windows is available, others will be shut down in the weeks and months following
