Windows 7 will not reconnect to the network wireless after the first connection.

Hi, we have computers portable windows 7 on a corporate domain which primarily use a desktop lan connection. We have a user based certificate that is registered automatically through Group Policy, to allow wireless access, and another group strategy that puts in place the wireless itself.

The question we have is: LAN/WLAN switch is enabled in the BIOS.

User can start and open a session with or without the LAN cable and wireless connections automatically connects them (if no LAN cable not inserted) wireless access point

Once connected (if started with inserted LAN cable), when the LAN cable is removed, the wireless connection will automatically connect AP (specified by Group Policy).

If the user then taken LAN cable back in, (after returning from meetings etc...), it connects to the wired LAN fine.

If the user removes the LAN cable once again, (another meeting etc.) the wireless connection is not automatically connect again.

The user can open the connections wireless at this point and manually connect to the access point.

The opposite occurs if the user starts with no LAN cable it inserts after the start and then he removes, the wireless connection does it not connect automatically.

"Connect automatically when this network is in range" is enabled in group policy

IPv6 is disabled on the wireless card

I tried to delete the contents of the Interfaces file in the program data\microsoft\WLANSvc\profiles

WLAN/LAN switching works fine every time.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you!!

  • Windows XP will not load past the Blue error screen

Hi, wondering for a while if someone can help me...

My xp system will not load past the Blue error screen that is displayed when the computer stopped suddenly or inadequate.

No matter what are the measures that you choose to take (safe mode, the most recent configurations... etc) the system will just beyond the blue screen on the windows logo download page, where the loading bar moves about 10 seconds before returning to the blue loading page.

Preferably, without losing my element pictures and videos stored on the hard drive, but it's just preference.

    Hello

It does not seem good friend if the Windows operating system does not start even using safe mode, then I don t think you will be able to run the operating system without new OS reinstallation. :(

To back up data from the HARD drive I recommend that you connect the internal HARD drive to external USB HDD controller and a backup of the HARD drive on another computer.

Then you could try to reinstall the operating system on your laptop using the Toshiba Recovery CD

  • Repair Windows installation will not continue beyond the mark of 26 min during fill the stage of installation

Hi there all your PC gurus

PC fails to complete a repair of Windows XP installation. It does not go beyond the mark of 26 min during the installation phase ends. You can still move the mouse around, however installation is not continue beyond this point.

PC is a Dell Vostro 1510, it is only a couple of years.

    Can someone please?

The initial problem was that the PC did not go beyond the page of Windows to start upward. So I had to do an installation of the Dell windows XP disk repair. But I couldn't boot from the CD, (even after changing in the system BIOS boot order) to work around this problem, so I had to disable the boot on the other upward options being - HDD, USB etc. so only if it start from the disc.

After completing the first part of the repair facility, the PC restarted to complete the second part of the installation, however I got an error message "the Kernel32.dll file is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the checksum calculated.

After some research, I solved this problem by using the windows recovery console to extract a new copy of the kernel32.dll from the windows XP disc. It seemed to work. The second part of the window repair facility restarted successfully, but now the problem is it will not complete installation, it gets stuck/not will not go beyond the 26 minute mark during the phase of "complete installation."

It has been full of hiccups. I'm not a person of computer tech at all, but have managed to get so far at this stage.  Can someone please please help, very much appreciated.
    Thanks :)

I can't do all the suggestions for troubleshooting because I can't get to my computer at all.  I validated and it says windows Pascal more send activationsetc. and I can't update because I can't.

  • Why Windows backup will not work on a network share?

I am running Vista Home Premium and have a drive WD MyBookWorld NAS on a MS LAN.  OneCare used to do all my backups, never had any problem, but OneCare is no more.  I also have a NAS Iomega 2 TB hard drive and the problem is exactly the same for that too - XP and 7 can save on it, Vista can not.

Windows backup works very well for readers SIN of my XP and 7 machines, but both the Vista, those who refuse.  I can drag and drop files from Vista to NAS, it's just the backup center who is the problem.  When I select the NAS drive for the backup on, he asks a user name and password.  My login to the Vista machine id does not work, and the administrator to the NAS password does not work.  The procedure fails with the 0x800706C6 message.  He refuses also backup on XP or 7 machines (with different messages).  He would be the backup on my other machine to Vista, but I do not have spare storage!
I have read articles countless and tried to turn on/off control of accounts and mapping changes the network drive, without success - the error message, but does not go far.
There is an industry on the internet trying to sell people PCHA (what is described as a Microsoft product), but I can't find any help on the Microsoft web site.  It is very bad, when the fault is so common.
Help, please.  What should I do?

    Hello

Windows Home Premium backup can't backup on a network location.
So you will need to use an application of part 3. Professional, comprehensive and Enterprise edition
    backup to a network share.

You can share files and use the 3rd backup XP to do or use Acronis or other
    party utilities.

I prefer for the most of backup data and prefer to do it in a way that makes it easy to find
and to restore a file as well as many.

I ask you to check with your computer manufacturer if the Ethernet port is bad. Windows XP is expected to directly choose the connection of the cable. Also update the drivers of network card on the website of the manufacturer of the computer.

  • Windows 7 will not activate with the OEM key, after the failure of HARD drive.

    Hello

I was recently asked to repair my brother DELL laptop.  The HARD drive failed and the system unusable.  I replaced the HARD drive and installed Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 (earlier version of windows) from my own installation media.  The recovery partition had survived the failure of HARD drive, I would have just cloned that and used, but this was not an option in this case.

The problem that I am experiencing, is that windows don't will not activate, saying that the key is not valid.  I was told that installing Windows 7 media would work with a retail or an OEM key, but that doesn't seem to be the case.  The key OEM I use, is from the computer it came from originally, and the only material change is the new HARD disk.

I try to avoid ordering an OEM Dell installation CD, as which costs money (I already have my own installation CD) and takes time (why do they have them available for download?).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

you use an OEM SLP key that only works with the manufacturers recovery media.

change the product key to that on computers of COA
Click Start, type slui3, press ENTER.

    Additional information:

Computers, which are built by large manufacturers provided with pre-installed Windows are supplied with 2 two product keys:

OEM SLP: This key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates. (that's why you had no need to turn on your computer after you brought it home)

COA SLP: it's the product key that you see on the sticker on the side (or at the bottom, [or in the battery compartment]) of your computer. It is a valid product key, but must be used only in certain situations (for example, if the OEM SLP key stops automatic activation for a reason any). The key must be activated by phone. (Note: all manufacturers that use the SLP OEM system are bound by contract to include a certificate of Authenticity sticker (COA), which has a COA SLP key, on the computer)

ActiveX warnings occur only on pages consulted on the spot.  It's one thing for IE browser security to help protect your computer against malware.  When you upload your site to the remote server, your pages live will not show the warnings of the ActiveX.

  • Windows open will not close and the computer does not except in safe mode. The mouse works, but can not open a file or a program.

I ran the twice successfully system restore, but that did not help. When a window is blocked, hit CTRL-Alt-Del shows an error message "failure of Security Options. I use Vista. Open windows on the desktop were often not well closed for months, but now the computer freezes as soon as I opened the first window. Busy circle is present. Mouse still works but can't do anything for files, etc.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to your computer, after which the issue started?

Follow these steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

If it works in safe mode, I suggest that you can start your computer in a clean boot State and check if the problem persists.

Note: Follow step 7 to your computer as usual.

    Step 2:

You can perform disk cleanup to clean unwanted files on the computer.

    Delete files using disk cleanup

  • The permissions of folder/drive Windows 8 will not work with the Administrators group?

I read through some of the other questions on the etc folder permissions, but don't really know the answer to this question, or I do not understand what has been the response.

I did a new install of Windows 8 and have a few records that I stored stuff I now want to use it as well with Windows 8.  As with the other threads, I was getting access denied error etc and have not defined administrators group/full control permissions, but I still couldn't access readers, and my connection is type administrators.

When I take the disk permissions with my local user rather than to the Administrators group, but, it works very well, even if no one else can access the drives.

I am confused on how I can make this work for administrators rather than my specific user account, thank you very much!

If you know that you are a member of the ADMINISTRATORS group, then just browse the classic desktop and open Windows EXPLORER (WINDOWS KEY + E). Right CLICK on the C DRIVE, and then choose PROPERTIES. Click the SECURITY TAB, and then click the entry of ADMINISTRATORS (computername\administrators). Verify that the checkbox under ALLOW checked for each entry. If it not to hit EDIT and tick all the boxes ALLOW. Then click OK and OK. Check the settings for the SYSTEM account.

If the first step does not work, try this step only. If it does not, click ADVANCED on the SECURITY tab. In the PERMISSIONS tab highlight of ADMINISTRATORS, choose CHANGE PERMISSIONS. Ensure that all are checked in the BASIC PERMISSIONS area. The menu is APPLIES to drop down, make sure it is set on this FOLDER, subfolders and FILES. Click OK, OK, and then APPLY.

None of my restore points work.  I don't know what to do and I installed Microsoft Security that says that everything is fine.

    Than ks for your help.
