Windows 7 will work correctly on a dual processor xw6400?

The reason that I ask is that I installed Windows 7 Home Premium and it is recognizing only one physical processor, one of the Xeon processors double two heart. Or at least it's only two of the four cores of the projection on the Task Manager.

Thank you

Microsoft support didn't really know what to do, but they greeted me and sent a CD-ROM full of Win 7 ultimate replacement.

With this disc I did the Express of Home Premium upgrade on holiday but it has not recognised but one of my four processors in both processors.

I went into msconfig and tried to select the number of processors, but it there was only '1' on the pull down?   I don't know why I tried, but there is an option for selective startup on the general tab, and "use original boot configuration.  It worked! It came with two processors, and all four cores.  Hope this helps someone else with a similar problem.

No! 512 MB is way too little RAM. You need at least 2 GB for adequate
    performance.

I started to reinstall Windows XP, after he has screwed up and I discovered that all the system snapshot
I created backups worthless - MS removes automatically after 90 days...

But when reinstalling Windows XP Pro MCE 2005 I managed to beat or dodge the many problems - like all the
famous error when update .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 and many others
Suddenly I met an error generated by Microsoft of NONRECOVERABLE type!

While trying to install Windows, I agreed that Windows was full of bugs and security flaws and
need a large number of fixpacks installed via Windows Update.
Such a group of patches is called KB930494 and the full name is:

.NET framework 1.0 Service Pack 3 SYSTEM. WEB. DLL and MSCOREE. DLL Security Update for Windows XP Media Center Edition and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition

Windows Update gave a brief error msg that this update has failed and I have tried to run this update

    Ok

So, this update of Microsoft killed my system - it sure that _ 'does not properly"more.
Lots of things off, lots of BSOD...

Og - of course I should have used the system restore and created a backup that I should come back...!
I did well - but this bomb of viral type of Microsoft made sure it was not possible to create
a valid system by restoring such a backup. Probably because half the file system matches the other.

The worst part is - even if I try to reinstall Windows again, avoiding this Virus created by MS, how can I be sure that
This will be the only disguised bomb nothing extraordinary provided by Windows Update as necessary security patches?

So guys, what is the best utility backup/restore partition there?

Use Partiton Lofic is a down load for free on the partition, you can also use Easeus Disk Copy. It is a free program with a friendly interface.

    Hello

BCCode: 117 is generally a problem of display driver (video) If you need to update (check the system machine
and the sites of the manufacturer of the device. You will need to remove and reinstall your video card a PC and not
edge. Perhaps a replacement card is necessary.

If necessary you can perform in SafeMode with network - repeatedly F8 tap that you start.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause
questions. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it) and then go look for new ones

I get the above message. This started after I installed Vista service pack 2. I will work and a blue screen appears in the lower part is States something about dumping. Then it restarts and the above message appears. I can't stop the computer, the display shows "shutting down" but it goes for hours without stopping in fact.

  • Windows 7 will work on my Satelite U205-s5044?

I plan to install the Windows 7 operating system.
It will work on my satellite u205-s5044?

    Thank you

I think so. I mean why it should not work on your laptop satellite. The question is if your laptop model will be supported for Win7.
When Win7 supports begins to check the U.S. Toshiba support page to see if some drivers are available for your laptop model.
As far as I know for now, Toshiba WE offers a few BETA for Win7 drivers.

  • Windows 7 will work on a ultrabook convertible?

I was watching the Ultrabook convertible, this is the kind of new who have a tablet on the opposite side of the screen. I think it is a good idea, but I'd rather put Windows 7 on it, instead of Windows 8. Windows 7 would work well with it? The Tablet part would work properly?

I would like to upgrade to Windows 7 because I prefer to use a different browser, and administration in Windows 8 tools are hard to find. In addition, it is a new operating system with new and unknown security vulnerabilities.

Windows 8 is compatible with third-party browsers too. The administrative tools are not so difficult to find as you say. About security issues and vulnerabilities, Yes, you can wait a while until a service pack is released, so that Windows will become more stable. These problems occur each time a new version of Windows is available, even with Windows 7. The successive updates make more stable (and secure).
You can switch to Windows 8 at all times, you are going to have a license of Windows 8, accompanying the ultrabook convertible. You can upgrade to Windows 8, maybe in the future.
