Windows 7 WMP 12 a .asx file won't play audio stream

I see this problem anywhere on the Internet but no solutions. On my Windows 7 machine, I want to read a file .asx on a particular web site that plays very well on my XP machine. But in Windows 7 (64-bit), I get the error C00D11B1. The .asx file points to a .wma file when I look inside.  My 12 WMP plays .wma files perfectly straight when not redirected through a .asx file. The file in question is a non-protected streaming file (no download).  I ran sfc/scannow and it found nothing abnormal.  I tried playing the file with Real Player but still not the same error of Windows Media Player. Any ideas appreciated.

A month ago, everything was fine, but then a wave of updates for Windows 7 has essentially killed my Media Center.  It is no longer sees my audio files and gives me an audio error when I try to access the library.  He sees my video files, but then gives me a video error.  Still, Windows Media Player can play audio and video files.  I have tried a system restore, went into the control panel and or power off the components of the system, ran the command prompt to use sfc/scannow, nothing helps.  Anyway I can just clean the Media Center and download an uncorrupted version?

    Hi GeneVachon,

    1. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

You can try a system restore to a previous point where you have not experienced the problem.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

  • AVI file won't play in Premiere Pro CS4

I wonder if someone can show me a simple solution to this problem.

I did an AVI movie with my Canon Powershot A2100 640 x 480 to 88 kbps and 769MB. After a tutorial of Project http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-premiere-pro-cs4/getting-started-02-setting-up-your-first-/ (and more) I can't my video to play. The games sound but the video portion is not... It does not correctly play with Windows Media Player

As a separate trial, I ran my video using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 export to another AVI file and this file will play in Premier Pro. The only difference is that I exported it without the audio.

Any thoughts?   My goal is to change the sound and hopefully reduce the size of the file so that it will be able to my site web watch.

  • I accidentally deleted my audio speaker, and now it won't play audio. What should I do?

Help, please. I went through everything and can't get it back!

Download and install the latest audio drivers. You can find them in your PC manufacturer's Web site, in the first case, or, failing that, the manufacturer of the sound card / device *.

    * If your audio device is built into your motherboard, go to the website of the manufacturer of the motherboard to get.

  • Windows Media Player 11 will not files play.wmv

I am running XP SP3, updated with all the current patches. Current AE 8.0.6. Just upgraded to WMP 11 from WMP 9 and now it won't play my .wmv old movie files. Instead, he plays them in something called "ActiveMovie window', as I understand is part of the application of IE now. I tried the "Apply media information changes" button in the menu TOOLS in WMP 11 without effect. WMP 11 is called upon to play .wmv files (Types of files are by default: select all). And in OPTIONS for FILES, TYPES OF files, the .wmv extension is set to open and play with Windows Media Player, not IE or any other program (e.i. QuickTime).

WMP 11 play .mpeg as usual files.

Can find little information about the ActiveMovie window, except that it is now an integral part of the IE. What happens here?

In WMP on your profile, go to Tools - Options- Performance (press Ctrl + M, if you don't see the Tools menu) and click on restore by default . Who help me? Tim Baets

  • Windows Media Center ERROR: "some of the files needed to play radio or video are missing or corrupt." In Vista x 64

It was working fine last week and now I get this error in Windows Media Center, "some of the files needed to play radio or video are missing or corrupt.
Record of components Windows Media Center may have failed. »

    HUH?

    I use Vista x 64.

I looked this error and ran sfc/scannow in administrator mode.  It took about 15 minutes and he said that some errors have been found that cannot be fixed.  I can NOT open the log file to display errors, because when I find it and click on it, it says "access denied."

The basis going on, and made the Windows Update, I just ran on 13 April to break and corrupt something?

I fixed that by returning to NVIDIA 196.21 driver version.

  • music file will not play in second hard drive double click Error "" the requested operation requires a rise ".

Original title: music file won't play second hard drive by double click.

    Windows 7 ultimate/64

I have a second hard drive on which I store my music files. If I open a player (Foobar is what I use now) and open the music file in the program, he plays very well, since the second HD.

But if I double click on the music file (.mp3, usually), I get the message:

"The requested operation requires a rise."

I think it should open in the player by default when I do that.

I remember well, it wasn't the case when I started to use this computer (it's fairly new), while something might have changed.
I have the .mp3, .wav etc all default extensions for the Foobar player program.

I went through elaborate measures to appropriate the entire disk and have granted full permissions for me as a user, following to the letter one of the many sites of the detailed instructions for this operation. But there is no help in sight.
Original title: music file won't play second hard drive by double click

So I can let my reader opens a music file leave a second drive, but I can't call him by double click or click right/context citing the player. When I do that, nothing happens, but I don't get the message "requires a rise."

Every time I think that I am getting to know Windows 7, something like this happens. Avoid to receive life dull, of course.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I've pretty much exhausted my own attempts.

    Jack

Update: I think I've solved the problem. I have no idea that what caused it, but here's what fixed it:

1 uninstalled Foobar with usual Control Panel uninstall
2A through the startup disk everything and delete folders or files with the name "foobar" in them.
3 did the same for the registry (creating a point of restoration first, of course)
    4 restarted
    5 download and install Foobar.

    Yes.

    Works very well.

A big thank you to all who responded.

Windows Media Player won't play the .zip files. How to see or play these files? I'm 67 and not tech savvy thanks for the help.

    Hello

ZIP files are compressed, so you need to unzip and then play the content if the
content is of type WMP files.

Compress and uncompress files (zip files)

  • How to play .asx files in Windows Media Player

original title; Can I play a video file of .asx with WMP? or if not, how to play with this extension .asx files?

Can I play a video file of .asx with WMP? or if not, how to play with this extension .asx files?

When I try to play the file, WMP shows error then update says "video codec".

How then can I get this update for the video codec?

    Thank you, Michael Phelps 907

    Hi Mike,.

an .asx file is not a media file. It is a file that contains a pointer to a content online. So if you are unable to read a .asx file and are able to play other files using Windows Media Player so the best thing is to open the .asx, a Notepad file. When you open the .asx using Notepad, you will see a link that starts by http: and so on. Please copy this link and go to Windows Media Player. On the Windows Media Player window, press the Alt key on the keyboard and click file and Open url. Paste the link and check if Windows Media Player is able to open the link. If she opens the link this is a problem with the formatting of the .asx file and if it does not open the link then it is a problem with the server online of the .asx file. It could be that it is deleted from the server.

Hope this information helps. Keep us informed on the status of the issue.
