Windows 7 would not connect this morning

Hello

I had just installed the latest version of the Toolbox Lenovo that has a check mark on the Toolbox icon in the taskbar, last night and just fully supported my entire system in the case of an accident or something else. When I turned on my laptop to check something before I went out some time for shopping, I just couldn't get Windows 7 to connect at all. He displayed the thing spinning next to the word "welcome." For now, I have my laptop home with me to do something, that you may know that I can do to get my back on the Windows 7 Desktop because I took it to a computer shop to have a guy check it out for me and see what happens. I didn't backup my whole system and stop for the night and then could not reconnect to all the next morning. My laptop runs normally until it gets to the screen of the user. That's when it gets stuck when I select my user account name. Any ideas why he does this? Just in case this happens again I should go in safe mode and go back to using system restore? I did not have any system restore points after I upgraded Lenovo Toolbox so I hope that the guy can make a comeback at the time what I have to do is to reinstall again. I wondered after this happened if I have restarted my computer after installing this update. I did not do anything, so I got a little scared to do something that might not work. Got work that needs to be done to a cousin and have my laptop to do, but have an old laptop that isn't mine anymore to me til I mine back.

Thank you

Liz

So much worse... my Lenovo has virus and that is why it would not open a session. It is now correct.

    Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

    Sorry to hear that you have to connect to a wireless network adapter trouble.

    To help you further on this subject, it would have been really helpful for us if you had

    mentioned a few details such as:

    (1) is there an error message you get when you try to connect to the internet?
    (2) is the persistent problem with all browsers installed on the machine?
    (3) what is the brand and the type of the network adapter (whether ADSL or an adapter included)?

    However, there are a few steps that we can try first:

  • Dreamweaver (on Windows 7) does not connect to the server, IIS (v7) using "FTP over SSL/TLS...". »

    I am weather evauating to buy Dreamweaver CS6...

    Trial of Dreamweaver CS6 (on Windows 7) does not connect to the IIS server (v7) using "FTP over SSL/TLS (explicit encryption).  I have a NEW Godaddy SSL certificate installed on the IIS server.

    On the connection between States Dreamweaver: "server certificate expired or contains invalid data."connectionerror.png

    I tried:

    -ALL Dreamweaver Server configuration options

    -L' use of multiple certificates (I tried 2048 and 4096-bit Godaddy SSL certificates)

    -Make sure the certificate "issued to the"domain name is my domain name. "

    I am able to connect without a problem with Filezilla, Filezilla equivalent affecting 'explicitly require FTP over TLS.  I can connect both using Microsoft Expression web.

    This has been discussed previously. I recommend reading my old thread for details:

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/889530

    But to make a long story short, Godaddy is incorrectly signed SSL certificates on shared servers.  The servers/ips/domains and the certificate do not match.  So DW and many other tools fail authenticate with Godaddy SSL connections.  Some users have stated that other tools FTP, such as Filezilla as you mentioned, bypass and automatically change your connection to insecurity, but DW is very picky.  Once you modify encryption against zero, the connection will be accepted.  Best solution is if you want a certificate SSL correctly signed move to another host because Godaddy refuses to admit that they are wrong with SSL certificates on their sites.  These warnings will appear also to your users if you have a store saying the SSL certificate does not match the domain/ip and this can make users checking in a very nervous showcase.

  • IBM ThinkPad T42 would not connect to my home network secure wireless

    Configuration IP of Windows __An internal error has occurred: a device attached to the system is not functioning. __Please contact support services technical microsoft for more help.

    Others have had a similar problem, but I tried the solutions that have worked for them, without success.

    All of a sudden, my IBM ThinkPad T42 wouldn't connect to my home network (WPA2-PSK) secure wireless.  It would be either (1) stay in a constant state of "acquiring network address" or (2) do not recognize networks wireless in the range.  Sometimes, it would connect to a nearby unsecured network, but the network would still not appear in the list of available wireless networks.  So I tried to connect directly to the ethernet, which also did not work.  I then ran the ipconfig/all command at the command prompt and got the message:

    Windows IP configuration
    An internal error has occurred: a device attached to the system is not functioning.
    Contact support services technical microsoft for more help.
    Additional information: unknown media status code.

    So, I went to Microsoft Product Support Services, which does not seem to offer all the solutions.  I searched this error online and found several similar problems - some users had problems with viruses.  Some users had winsock2 corruption, and some recommended to reinstall the drivers for my network cards.  I'm computer literate, but not a computer Wizard, so I was able to follow their instructions for checking the winsock2 corruption (I think), and I think it's very good.  I did a complete scan of symantec, but who came with nothing.  I downloaded the drivers for my network cards which are: Wireless - 11 a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter, ethernet - connection of a Mobile Intel (r) PRO/1000 MT and was able to update my wireless driver, but not the driver ethernet.  The latter Assistant said we "could not find a better match for your hardware than the software currently installed".  I had wireless internet to work for a few hours last night, even if I still have the same error message when I run ipconfig/all.  I started my computer this morning, and the same problem again - constantly says "address of network acquisition" even if no wireless networks are appearing on the list.  Also, I tried the system restore to see if I could go back before the problem started, but after that I tried several dates, System Restore has still not successful - it wouldn't work again.

    So now, I have my computer in safe mode, and it is connected to the wireless internet, even if the ipconfig/all command still gives the same message, and I am running symantec again to see if I can find something!

    Please help me!  If you think that I may have missed something with the winsock2 or installing drivers, or if there is something I could not find on the internet, please let me know!  I'll try anything.

    Note: I have Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3.
    Network card drivers, I'm running are:
    Wireless: Date - 02/05/2007, Version 4.1.2.156, provider - Atheros
    Ethernet: Date - 24/10/2006, Version 8.7.9.0, provider - Intel

    Thank you!

    Update: when I disable the Intel PRO/1000 MT driver, I can run ipconfig/all with success.  Then imagine it's something to do with this adapter or the driver.  Any ideas?

    OK, so here is what I did to solve this problem.

    I've updated to the latest version of the IBM BIOS

    Then get the WLAN driver from the manufacturer, NOT IBM, NOT Windows Update. Depending on your card, it will be Cisco or Intel.

    I can not stress enough that updates to IBM and Windows update does not work and I lost a lot of time. However, once downloaded directly from the manufacturer (new version) worked flawlessly!

  • My laptop with Windows Xp does not connect to the internet, please help me!

    Then my laptop, as indicates it works on Windows Xp, but even if I'm supposed to be connected to my home network, when I run Internet Explorer, it can not connect to internet. Any help and insight will help. Please help me!

    I'm sorry that had to retype all of this, but in essence, that everything indicates that things work correctly with your Internet connection.

    To translate, the first bit tells us that your router assigned your computer 192.168.0.12 IP address.  The own IP address of the router is 192.168.0.1

    The result of ping 127.0.0.1 indicates that your computer can communicate with itself (the adapter is OK)

    The 192.168.0.12 ping result indicates that your computer can communicate with your router (that we already knew because otherwise your computer don't would not have been assigned an IP address).  It also means that you are connected to your local network.

    The result of the ping 192.168.0.1 is similar to the 127.0.0.1 test.

    And finally, the ping Google result shows that you are able to access the Internet.

    Knowing all this, you probably need to reset TCP/IP or Winsock, or both.

    Manually:

    Open a command prompt window and type

    netsh winsock reset {enter}
    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

    Used my computer and turn it off for the night normally.  In the morning, windows would not initialize.  I just kept getting the process bar.  Finally got in safemode and told to back up files.  MSG confirmed that this fact.  Then, the computer is totally down.

    He raised just, but now I can't find my files and windows is always weird.  Never had a error code.

    Help, please.

    Accurate information is required.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Data recovery:
    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.
    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.
    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:
    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html
    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

    Download the Vista software from the link above.

    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.

    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

    See you soon.

  • Windows messenger does not connect to internet

    Hello, I'm on vista Home premium and have changed my router modem. My office has accepted the router and messenger works very well. However, the laptop will only sign not to messenger and when I go in the properties and connections, it shows that messenger is not connected to the internet and that the computer is connected via a wired connection. • Windows 7 - could not connect to the internet

    Our Dell laptop has Windows 7 and since last night I am no longer able to connect to the internet.  I see that my router works (excellent strength) but I can't online.  When I called FIOS they said it was a problem with the Windows 7 update.  I was waiting with Microsoft for more than an hour last night and am listening to hold music again tonight.  Any help is appreciated!

    You have McAfee? It was last updated at about the same time and it seems to be the cause of this problem.

    See the communication from this "criticism" - McAfee

    Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

    You should make the fix McAfee, if necessary.

    I got McAfee, but the connection has started working again on its own so I thought I was clear of problems. However, when I checked it says he was doing routine checks the updates in vain when I told it to do a manually. So stick with McAfee you don't follow their procedure of fix would have upgraded my PC at risk by not updated and, as other listings of McAfee said since then, the application did not refer to his database of threats correctly. Actually, I removed and then installed Microsoft Security Essentials rather & my answer IE is faster I knew it [even though I had the Add-ons McAfee disabled for centuries].

    I had to run the McAfee Development removal a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

    - - - - - - - - - - - - -

    If you do not have McAfee then Windows update that kb2705219 can also be a cause like uninstall that seemed to solve the problem for some users. To uninstall an update - control panel, programs & features, [left side of the window] see installed updates. Wait until the system has finished the research for the list of updates. Select update required, then right click and Uninstall.
