Windows 7 - XP mode too slow

I recently bought a new computer from HP with Dual-Core processor and 5 GB of RAM, 64-bit system that came with Windows 7 Home edition, and I intend to use it with my MasterCamX3 64-bit. My software is not compatible with Windows7 so I bought the upgrade to Windows7Pro in order to use virtual XP mode. The installation went smoothly, but in virtual XP mode the short MasterCam unacceptable slow. I have spent 3 GB RAMM at the Virtual XP without success. MasterCam dealer told me it's the computer that runs not fast enough because the executed program much more quickly on an old regular XP machine. In fact the Manager of tasks in XP mode, shows me only one processor (even if the computer has dual-core, which is visible in the Manager of tasks W7) which is used 100% whenever I do any small task in MasterCam.
At the virtual XP Mode just under W7 emergency use and is known to be the slowest? I get best result since XP if I downgrade from Windows 7 to XP pro?

Thank you.

XP mode is emulating XP, it will always be much less good results, especially if she tries to virtualize things like video playback or working with the material.  I think it would be better to get the software compatible with Windows 7: XP mode is simply intended to productivity software.

  • Windows XP and it is slow real.

XP system, about 6 years and it is real slow, have lots of processes running (77) how can I tell what must be running and what can I cut? How can I disable them? Guess this will speed things up? A microsoft program to use that will help you?

No, you will need to use an elbow grease.

    Please answer the following questions:
    1. how much RAM do you have?
    2. what program antivirus or suite are you running?
    3. have you scanned for malware with MBAM or aswMBR?
Here's my usual "causes of slowness":

    1. malware (malware). You need to rule out first! This page has excellent information:

    http://www.selectrealsecurity.com/malware-removal-Guide

    2. not of sufficient free space on the hard disk. At the very least, you should have at least 15% free space. A good shooting for goal is 50%.

    3. some programs aimed at combating malware (for example, Norton and McAfee). Ironically, they can slow things down because they use simply much too many resources. Sometimes they cause conflicts with other programs. Fortunately, there are other programs of anti-malware software available that use much less resources (for example, NOD32, MSE and Avira).

    4. not enough RAM, causing the PC too rely on the pagefile. A quick way to determine if what is happening is to open (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) Task Manager, and then click the performance tab. Then the three values under Commit Charge (k) Note: in the lower left corner: Total, limit and peak.

The Total number represents the amount of memory you are using right now. The vertex figure represents the maximum amount of memory you made since the last boot. If these figures are lower than the value of the amount of physical memory (K), then you probably have lots of RAM. In case you want to study it more, you can run the Page queue Monitor for Windows XP:

    http://www.dougknox.com/XP/utils/xp_pagefilemon.htm

    5. you can also verify that the access mode of your hard drive has not changed from DMA to PIO:

3.6.17 worked well, but 11 Firefox is too slow.
problem is the same with version 4 and 4.01
can someone please help me to solve my problem

I'm sorry that you have problems with Firefox doesn't work is not as fast as it should. I'd like to help you here so that you manage Firefox running at great speed.

Firefox, try to start Firefox in Safe Mode. It temporarily disables your extensions, customizations, etc. so that we can see if they slow down Firefox. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then it is probably a problem with the add-on. Restart Firefox in normal mode, and then type "subject: addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions, restart Firefox between each one, until you find the troublemaker. Once you do, you can disable this add-on.

I also see you have advise McAfee Site. I would recommend disabling that, as it is known to cause leaks of massive memory than Firefox slow down

If Safe Mode does not work, you can also try updating your graphics card driver. Update your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL reading can show you how to do this.

  • DVD player is too slow on the Satellite A100-507

the stack of reader dvd * a dvd - ram uj - 841 s my satellite a100-507 is too slow. (~ 1000 kb/s - far too slow for a movie - and it does not depend on the player.)

specifications technical manufacturer is 8 x reading + writing for DVD, even I can write DVD up to 2.4 x

is this a software problem? (I use Windows XP)

    Hello

You are not able to watch DVD on your laptop, or what is the problem?

I studied a bit and found a few player features:
    Maximum read speed:
    CD 24xMax
    DVD-ROM 8xMax

    Maximum write speed:
    CD - R 24xMax
    CD - RW 4xMax
    HS CD - RW 10xMax
    US CD - RW 10xMax
    US + CD - RW N/A
    DVD-R 8xMax
    DVD-R(Double Layer) 2xMax
    DVD - RW 4xMax
    DVD + R 8xMax
    DVD + R (Double Layer) 2.4xMax
    DVD + RW 4xMax
    DVD-RAM 5xMax

So you info about 8 x reading + writing of DVD is not exactly true. It is based on the DVD.
In addition, it is important to mention that these are the max values.
Sometimes the drive reads or writes with a lower speed. It depends on the cache status.

  • Help! My Lenovo T60 Thinkpad too slow for life...

    Hello

So I got my Lenovo T60 for like a year and a half, and until two months ago, it worked well enough (he got the occasional fan at first error message place however) and then all of a sudden he started bluescreening, as it would not go past the Welcome screen. So I installed Windows 7 and it worked fine for 3 weeks, then again bluescreening. So I decided to go back to XP. Establishment lasted 2 days (no, I'm not exaggerating) and since then, it takes 30 minutes just to start. And although I can't do anything on this issue because it is too slow; a simple command such as opening a folder takes 10 minutes! Has it damaged something by installing Windows 7? What can I do to make it normal again? Thanks in advance

Looks like a bad HD for me. You need to check the bad sectors, which can be easily made to initialize with a linux LiveCD/USB and by running disk utility it. It will report on the SMART status of your drive, and I suspect that your HD to be riddled with bad sectors, ergo long boot time and BSOD.

  • HP Laserjet M1132 MFP is too slow on the network!

    Hello

My HP Laserjet M1132 MFP is too slow on the network!

I connect the printer to the windows XP 32 bits SP3 using UBS port. The printer works fine on the local computer, but when he shared on the network running too slow, for example with the print test page it takes about 45 seconds to print and other documents, it takes much longer.

I installed the last form HP driver site and update the firmware it the latest version.

It happens on other Windows XP machines as well.

I have connected the printer to my laptop (Windows 7 64-bit) and it works very well (no delay on the network) and it seems that this problem have some relationship with the windows XP Driver.

I used the trick of local port on computers remote (instead of the normal method) like this:

    "add a local printer.
    "new port".
    "localport".
    \\XPcomputer\HPPrinterName port name

    but still nothing!

There is nothing wrong with the network, allows us to use a Samsung printer on the same machines on the network without problem.

    I really appreciate your HELP!

It seems that no one on the planet has the answer to this question!

The only available option is to upgrade your operating system to windows 7 (vista can work, I have no idea!).

He wat the only solution for me.

  • How to check the drivers if the computer is too slow with XP

    Hello

I have problems loading my XP.
I´ll get a warning message (a gray pane / box) tell my server broadband can not run enough.
My ISP server gave me the F-Secure program that I pay for it should protect me against viruses as well, but I can't search total
the computer everywhere. The research program will stop and it is caused by some blockages in the system.

After clicking this message here, that I can work as usual, run each program a.s.o. but it s too slow!

I bought and run the antispyprogram, RegCleanPro several times and now my computer is clean, no spyware programs left.
I have installed and run the Microsoft Security Essentials, Microsoft Security Scanner and Windows defender but got the same positive response.
    It seems to be OK.

But how to detect other "locks" that may have struck the system on my drivers to see which ones should be updated?

Not to mention that I failed to update the last two files of 15 total (13 have been updated). Those who fail are:

    KB 928416, Microsoft.NET Framework 3.0 for x 86 language pack.
    KB968930, Win.PowerShell2, 0-Wn.Ram2, 0 (XP) and win embedded.
(I hope that the description of each is correct but the KB # s are right).

In short, how to go through the computer to find which prevents smoothly?

First of all, you can have MSE and windows defender at the same time. It can be a real-time antivirus, everything must be on-demand. When you have installed MSE, he should have said to disable Windows defender.

This can cause a slow machine due to conflicts.

Here's a checklist for installing MSE:

    http://experts.Windows.com/w/experts_wiki/89.aspx

After the installation, perform the following steps:

Download, install, update and scan with these full free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/

    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx Security Scanner

Please answer a few questions, brand and model of pc, operating system and service pack?

Once your machine is clean of infections, then we can see to do your updates installed.

  • HP 6029de RAID 0 too slow

I changed my 6029de HP in RAID 0. But the writing speed is 30 MB/s.
Is not too slow for a RAID 0 system?

Will there be an update of firmware for it? or can I pay what?

    translated by google

If you have changed from RAID 0 that normally you have to reinstall the operating system or run the recovery as far as I know and then try some points of reference.

Also where do you see that read/write speed?

It is when copying, cutting or trasnfer files?

Mine appears lower than that and im current raid 0 and I can say it's faster and I do not trust fully the speed that Windows says it is trasnfering.

It's even slower when you transfer to or from a usb device, which is normal.
