  I got a free 30 day trial of AE which has expired.  I joined Cloud CS but can not download AE now.  When I try to 'download', AE says Installation Manager is up-to-date and will not provide an option to download AE...   OK, this would cause problems you are currently experiencing.  For Adobe Creative applications you must use the uninstaller located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.  Once you have run the uninstall program you can then re-download and install After Effects.

  So, first of all, I suggest you to check the product key in email messages when you purchased the license to the product for Windows 8. Once you get the product key, you can create a Windows 8 ISO and reinstall using this product key. See the following article:
