  I'm trying to install windows 7 from an iso file using Bootcamp assistant, Version 6.0.1 but unfortunately just windows installer does not open so I'm stuck with this black screen. I left my sit MacBookPro autour with this black screen during more than half an hour and after awhile, it gets really hot so I interrupted the "process."

  I have reset the NVRAM (command + alt + p + r) which did nothing.

  I followed the instructions of bootcamp. I downloaded the correct drivers for my model of mac pro book, I created a bootable and partitioned my drive.

  The forum has a lot of "black screen problems" but none of their solutions worked for me.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  1. leave BCA creates the installer from USB, but not to partition your drive.

  2. download the correct drivers to install Windows 7 and previous versions on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support and replace $WinPEDriver$, AutoUnattend.xml, and the entire folder on the drive flash USB2 Bootcamp.

  3. run BCA, connect the USB cable and click only the Windows Installer and test if the Setup program starts.

  HI, I have just upgraded to Windows 8 Windows 7 pro.

  The upgrade went well, and all of my previous Win 7 applications work. However Win 8 (those launched from the startup screen) applications do not work. By clicking on the tiles brings to the top of the screen to start this application, and then it just closes. All of them seem to do, except for the "cards".

  I did a search but could not find anything. He seems to have been a similar problem with the preview of consumption, so I tried these suggestions. Because my user profile has been one that I imported from win7, it was an admin so that could be the cause. I created a local administrator and spent my account to a normal and connected with a Live ID account, but that did not work. UAC is enabled, so that can't be it. I use a HD (1920 x 1080) display, so that it can not be either. My windows experience index is 6.2 (it's a laptop), so I don't think that hardware/driver issues could be it.

  Any suggestions?

  If Metro Apps still does not your other option would be to refresh your PC.

  Here's what happens when you refresh your PC:
  · Your files and your personalization settings do not change.

  · Your PC will change back to their default values.

  · Applications on Windows Store will be kept.

  · Applications that you have installed discs or sites Web is removed.

  · A list of removed apps will be saved to your desktop.

  These steps will take you through refreshing your PC:

  · Press the Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the charms (if you use a touch screen: touch the right edge of your screen and drag your finger to the left)

  · Click change PC settings

  · Click general in the left column

  · Under refresh your PC without affecting your files, click Start

  Before going back to my University all my apps worked very well. But when I'm back and rebooted my laptop, they don't work anymore. The apps Store open at all, and when I open the app Store itself, just displays the splash page and returns to the start screen (some have had this problem, too).  I tried all the methods suggested here on the forums (convenience store app, refresh my PC (twice), msconfig, wsreset.exe, sfc/scannow, etc), but none of them have worked.  I've even updated the operating system does not work today (known as Patch Tuesday) but as always.   Honestly I've read a lot about this. There are so many messages that MS needs to make some kind of announcement. There are many theories about what is causing the issue, and most of them seem to be centered around the antivirus, firewall and other. I read that Windows 8 has strengthened its security and protection with Windows Defender anti-virus. I had the same questions as everyone else. My metro apps wouldn't work. Click it, you get a splash screen, and then it seems to be load with points of spinning in a circle and that's all I could get. I worked on this for 2 days and with extreme frustration. I took some advice from some other people having the same problem and I completely uninstalled Mcafee Security Suite, rebooted the computer and low and behold, that resolved 'my' problem. As for others, I can't say. I've never once refreshed or borrow. I wish I had done just a couple of days! I hope you make the right decision for yourself. I have now no antivirus 3rd party anything on my system. I'm a careful Internet user when it comes to the internet and I stay away from any type of file-sharing sites. I hope this does not come back and bite me. Good luck!

  I had problems with a variety of applications of Windows 8 does not properly.   Who eventually solve all the issues I had with McAfee and Windows 8.

  I'm always interested in hearing, why the serial number of my netbook is not recognized by the Acer support.

  This problem occurs because the Windows Media Player library database is corrupted.

  To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

  (a) output Windows Media Player.

  (b) click Start, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

  (c), select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

  Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

  (d) restart Windows Media Player.

  Note  Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

  Method 2

  If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

  (a) output Windows Media Player.

  (b) click Start, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click OK.

  (c) select the Media Player folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

  (d) restart Windows Media Player.

  I've seen many threads similar to this problem, but not the same and after five hours or so of research, I have not found a solution.

  I am running Windows 7 Professional on a HP EliteOne 800 all-in-one PC.  I noticed today that the search feature in the start menu does not work.  If I type something, the start menu is completely empty.  If I click on "See more results", I am greeted by a reading of text box "search query: = [value]" where [value] is what I'm looking for.  For the sake of ease, I searched on cmd.  The body of the box text reads as follows: "Windows cannot find ': search query = cmd'.»  Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. "If I open Windows Explorer and try to pick up from there, yet again, nothing happens, there is absolutely no answer.  It is true that I am to research libraries, a drive or a folder.

  By other threads, I've tried so far running an official fix from Microsoft, I tried to launch the resolution of the problems of indexing tool, disable Windows Search via the control panel > programs and then turn it back on with reboots in the meantime, tried a restore of the system and so far no change.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
