  If Time machine running interferes with your ability to use the machine, then something else is wrong. It shouldn't affect performance in this way.

  I m no owner of an X 200 Satellite but I noticed hibernation/sleep problems on my laptop Vista too.
  For example my screen remained empty after waking from hibernation.
  I could solve it by the BIOS and update the graphics driver.

I tried to change my video setting and updated my NVIDIA card driver. Change the size of the photo doesn't do any good change just the measure of perimeter. I know that I can edit the photos, so people watching more thin but can you imagine doing that in every pic I take. I hope someone can help

  I finelly solved the problem by playing with the resolution until I found the appropriate settings. How to change the setting, I don't know, but as long as it works I can live with that.
